Definitely out this week, but can be down for beers, assuming NYP still does actual beer anymore.2 points

Well unit specific rules aren't really a problem in AoS. Since the rule is clearly defined on the warscroll for the unit it isn't confusing at all. Right now 40K has unit rules, that reference codex rules, that reference USRs, that in turn reference different USRs. But somehow people think that is less complex and more "flavorful" than the rule in its entirety presented on the warscroll. I really don't get it.2 points

GW is smart enough not to completely AoS 40K. I think they will take what does work from AoS and find a way to implement it. They aren't going to make one system that fits both. I don't see them wanting 40K armies on the table facing AoS armies. AoS is geared to a very specific type of play and 40K does not fit in that space. The trick that GW needs to figure out is how to produce simpler rule set and still retain the various flavors for the units without constantly hitting you with new unit specific special rules.2 points

Agreed. But not playing competitively, and having one-sided games are different. Most people don't enjoy one-sided games, win or lose.2 points

Excellent! I'm not actually taking any Inquisitors, but I always feel like they should be an exception whenever I see people talking about getting rid of Battle Bros.2 points

As this question was raised earlier today, I had a chance to revisit this decision. It is my opinion that Inquisitors were always meant to join various units (not just henchmen), and including them in the restriction would make them very difficult to play. I have revised the FAQ to provide Inquisitors a singular exception to the rule. This will apply to Inquisitors only, and no other independent characters.2 points

Howdy folks. Great news I've been given the task of establishing a Warhammer 40K community & in house league for Red Castle Games in SE Portland. I've worked out a regularly scheduled slot for 40K on Saturdays starting next week and I'm hoping that some of you guys'll be joining me. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I'll answer to the best of my ability. INFO: Games run from 1:00 to 8:00 every Saturday.1 point

Hi all. I am planning to join this year's 40k event. I played in the fantasy team event for 2015. Was a blast. This year I decided to go with 40k. I am wanting to join a team if possible. If not see if I can get three others with sister armies to make Team Sister. Show GW that they are still played. Thanks all.1 point

I just posted a new article on Pride of Rodina! It's about the use of Happy Seppuku base stamps (thanks to Pete and Jenni for the discovery in the first place!)1 point

I won't be able to get the boxed game in the near future but there is word GW will release the rulebook on its own. As soon as they do that then I'd be happy to play some games of this, with either 40K kill teams or some legit Necromunda gangers.1 point

My assumption was that you could show up and hang out and display your Army on Friday night even without a ticket for a Friday event, as long as you have a ticket for one of the weekend events. It's always been more or less like that in the past.1 point

Last night's hobby time was spent arming and (re)equipping Morgan Le Fay and the dreaded Sea Wolves. I think Morgan looks much better with a shield. The Sea Wolves are Footsore Miniatures' Early Saxon Infantry and their leader (the guy with the axe) is this year's Adepticon SAGA mini, which is made by Gorgon Studios. The FS Saxons came with small shields (I put one on Morgan), but since I picture these guys a proto-Viking mercenaries from Juteland or Frisia, I want their shields to look cruder and a tad bit larger, so I replaced their original shields with shields that came with my FS Irish.1 point

Seen this over at Dakka,,that release date makes this highly suspect though as they implied it would be in a year or so I thought.1 point

If you are playing in the 2 day 40k event but not as a member of a team, simply buy the ticket but omit the "Team Name" field.1 point
