  1. Get ready to compare all six of your weapon trait icons to each target's four armor icons, next add up all your half-hits & double hits, then discuss the after-armor saving rolls . . . but don't worry there's no toughness and we all get proofread-free slightly-playtested faction rules at once! And if you think I'm kidding about that new attack sequence - think again! Oh, and I forgot to mention for all you Spess Marhreen players out there the privilege & joy of replacing all your terminator models with primaris . . .

The model's weapon arms swivel horizontally at the elbows, and the top mounted missle rack is removable. So you can convert your Titan's weapon load out. It appears that the previous owner painted this model using a thin layer of paint washes, which left a lot of the original model detail in good condition. So if you'd like to paint over this model (without stripping the paint off first), you can do so without having to worry about losing a lot of surface detail. This model is ready to play out of the box... and you can also paint over it if you prefer a different look to match your army's style 🙂 * Adeptus Mechanicus Codex & Data Cards: $15 (sold together) (8th Edition) like new This codex and datacards are like new! 8. There will be a Warhammer Underworlds Shadespire 3 round event at OFCC this year and I hope everyone that is playing this fantastic, fast paced, tactical game can make it out to play. Rules and information for the event: -Ticket purchase link: -Tournament will take place at OFCC on Friday August 24th 2018 starting at 1pm (end time roughly 7pm). -We will use the standard matched play rules from the core rules, meaning that each round you will play the same opponent for up to 3 games. As soon as one player wins 2 games the round is over. We will be playing 3 rounds. -Each round will be 90 to 120 min, so potentially 30 to 40 min per game (we will most likely play things a little loose on game times to allow people to finish up). -Each player must use the same Warband and deck build throughout the tournament. All players must submit a desk list and upload it to the app (this can be as simple as a picture of all of your cards). -Players must use the appropriate miniatures represented on their fighter cards. Minor conversions are acceptable but they still must be easily identifiable as the miniatures represented on their fighter cards. -All Warbands must be fully painted and based per standard OFCC guidelines. -All players are required to bring their own warband, decks, dice, tokens and game boards. -Beta rules for relics will be in place. -People are free to use any boards and cards that have been released. -I will be using Best Coast Pairings (bestcoastpairings.com) for all player pairings. Its helpful if you already have a profile setup before the event but not necessary. -There will be prizes for placement, best painted warband and sportsmanship. Prize support is a follows: gift certificates to Geeks and Games in Oregon City, Shadespire token boxes and various official GW token sets/alternate art Warbands cards (see below for images of all prizes). 9. Hello everyone. I've recently relocated from Florida to Portland and as I don't know anyone in this city I wanted to take a brief moment to introduce my self. I'm a new player, more or less. I used to run DA and IG armies back in the 3rd/4th editions era but I haven't played since then. I started to pick up the modeling aspect of the hobby again during 7th edition and now after a long absence from playing the TT game I've decided to get back into it wholeheartedly. The army I'm building is still very much a WIP but it won't take too much more time for it to be playable. I'm really looking forward to playing my first game soon (hopefully) and meeting the local community here. Happy wargaming

  12. So I mostly play GURPS. If you're not familiar it's just another tabletop RPG system. And we play fantasy. So, I'm always in need of monsters/monstrous creatures and bad guys for the GM (DM for you DnD guys) to throw at us. I'm looking for either unpainted/unassembled or at least well assembled miniatures. Not super interested in painted unless the price is near the unassembled price (I would likely just strip and repaint). Newer models preferred, but some of the old metal miniatures can certainly hold their own. PM me with details of what you have and your prices. Or upload here. Either way. Also. The paints is the $200 set of master series paints from reaper you can find on eBay. It's very slightly used. Most used colors are the bone colors and one of the flesh tones.
  13. I believe this is where we upload finished products. If I'm wrong, direct me there. But, finished this guy up recently. Technically I sort of mixed the miniature pieces up a bit. But, I liked the Puke and so did my GM but I like the teeth of the maggoth lord (the puke is from the other dude, I forget his name). I'll post some of my other mini pics here later. And all other local painters should feel welcome. My whole reason for being here is to find a painting buddy or two.
  14. One of the members of Rose City Horus Heresy https://www.facebook.com/groups/713422632106296/ is a manager of an IHOP out near cascade station. He has been given permission to host games there late night on Tuesday's, Thursday's and Sunday's. It should be a great night if we can get a couple games going at once. At first we will need to bring all of our own terrain, because it's IHOP. Contact me anytime here or on Facebook for a game and I'll usually be free. Our group also meets up regularly on Saturdays @ Fate&Fury games in Vancouver and on Sundays @ WOW. Both days offer gaming from 3-8pm. Noobs welcome and we're not dicks.
  15. As a kid, teen, college student, and up until recently I have always been infatuated with the Warhammer Fantasy Universe (and tabletop gaming in general), but never indulged. Maybe because of time or money, lack people to play with or all of the above at different times. Last month though my wife and I saw a great deal on the Age of Sigmar starter set and I finally took the plunge and grabbed it. I am absolutely in love with it, although I have yet to actually get my hands dirty in a pitched battle with a worthy opponent (my wife tries, but it just ends up being me playing myself haha). However, I have definitely been discouraged with the lack of people that seem to be playing it around me (I'm up in Bellingham WA) and I have been unhappy with the incredibly negative view of the game I have seen online. It seems everyone is upset about Fantasy getting put out to pasture. I guess my question for you veterans of tabletop is this: why has there been so much backlash to Age of Sigmar? The game hasn't been out too long, maybe it will just take some time for people to adjust? Also, what is everyone's opinion of AoS in terms of game quality? How does it compare to 40k for example? Also, if there is anyone in Bellingham reading this and wants to play please hit me up, I need someone to play with
  16. Haven't played 40k in over a decade and already sold my Orc army a while ago. Just found my first Eldar army in storage. a lot of the pieces are not painted. some are primed. and a select few I started to paint, albeit kind of poorly haha. I want to sell this all together as opposed to piece by piece. Please make me an offer. I live in NE Portland on MLK and could meet at Guardian Games for the trade off. Cash only offers please. Comes with foam padded briefcase in picture. Feel free to email me at keen4nmccune@gmail.com Thanks! Includes: Corner piece of building terrain Some old paint Eldar Decals Unassembled Eldar Guardians Avatar of Khaine Phoenix Lord Karandras Eldrad Ulthran Farseer and Warlocks Eldar Guardian Squads Swooping Hawks Eldar Windriders Vyper Night Spinner Howling Banshees Fire Dragons Warp Spiders Eldar Support Weapon War Walker (or Wraithlord?)
  17. All, If you listen to Warhammer podcasts, we've started one focused 100% on fantasy. We're based in Seattle, so we have a slight slant toward our local scene, but I think the content is of general interest to anyone who plays, and that's how we aim to keep it. Please visit our iTunes page if you'd like to subscribe, or listen directly from our blog. Feedback welcomed! Episode 2 should be coming within the next week or so. Thanks, ~gwh
  18. Hi there, Im looking for some one to play a game of 40k with on this upcoming Sunday. I am relatively new still and want to get some more games in before trying to play in a league. Im available all day sunday and could meet at either guardian or east port. Thanks, Ethan
  19. Hey does anyone know where I can find a list of upcoming fantasy tournaments in Washington/Oregon? Also, what's the best game store for playing pick up fantasy games in the Seattle area? Thanks!
  20. All, After our first Masters qualifier season which got started a little late, I'm proud to announce the new system for qualifying for 2015. Summary Any tournament in the region counts towards rankings Rankings points = 2 best results + 3rd result / 2 + 4th / 4 and so on 2015 season ends November 30th, 2016 qualifiers start Dec 1st 1 day tournaments count for 60% of 2 day (same as 2014) Exponential rankings points Detail There were a few problems with the qualifiers that we wanted to make sure were addressed with a new system: Attendance: Having a high number of attendees at a single event could potentially incentivize the winners of that tournament to avoid attending tournaments later in the season. Also, the disparity between a 50 person and a 40 person tournament was quite large, which made it harder for people to qualify later. This has been addressed by making the formula treat anything of approximately 32 attendees and greater be much closer in points, with a steep drop off once the attendance drops below about 20. Traveling in the region: In 2014, BC had more GTs than the rest of the region put together. When we first put the circuit together, we weren't sure if Canadians were allowed to play in the Masters, and we wanted to try to balance the chances to attend across multiple regions. Fortunately, interest in the Masters combined with a general rise in interest in the hobby across the region have led to a rise in tournaments in each state/province. As of time of writing, there will be between 12 and 14 GTs spread reasonably evenly across the region, not counting any of the 1-day tournaments that may be organized. Traveling is encouraged, because getting a better result can always improve your ranking, but it is not 100% necessary. This allows the dedicated tournament players to maximize their chances of qualifying, while not prohibiting those with young families, tight budgets etc. from having their shot at glory. Single tournament FTW!: It's pretty clear that winning a single tournament is a combination of skill and luck on the day. We wanted to ensure we were sending the players who had consistently demonstrated a consistent ability to place highly in multiple tournaments. However, we didn't want to force a system whereby you had to attend ALL of the tournaments in order to be in with a chance. This system rewards players who attend a lot of tournaments and place highly (because we want our region to win, right?) but also allows for players who can only attend a smaller number of tournaments to potentially qualify, assuming they place well in at least two of those. Elitism: We didn't want to have to choose to have some tournaments be qualifiers and some not. However, last year there was only one GT in Oregon and we didn't want to stack things unfairly in favor of BC (who had five!). Thankfully, through the work of the community we should have at least four GTs in every state, which should be enough to allow the best players in the region to rise to the top. King of Cascadia: While it sounded great on paper to have a final qualifier that decided the last two spots in the Masters roster, people have real lives and not everyone can commit to coming for a certain two days in a given year just to play toy soldiers. As a result, all the Masters spots will instead be decided based on rankings, with the top 10 players as of November 30th getting the spots, and then working down the rankings should any player not be able to make it to the Masters. Why November 30th? This helps people book travel and test lists, knowing that they will be attending roughly 3 months in advance. December is also not usually a time for tournaments, but if anyone ends up organizing one, it will still count (just for the 2016 season). So this is all fine and good, but does it work? Well, I went back in time and took all the tournament results I could find for 2014, including those that were not part of the Masters circuit, and created a spreadsheet showing what the rankings would have been like if we had been using this system. Theoretical 2014 NW Masters Rankings Actual Rankings (for comparison) As you can see, the top of the pack looks pretty similar to this year. However, the folks who attended mostly 1-day tournaments (e.g. Riley Nadeau) drop off in the rankings, whereas those who attended and placed well at both 2-day and 1-day tournaments (e.g. Anthony Greenman) went up. You can also see that the rankings would be dominated by Canadians due to their much higher proportion of GTs - so this year's ranking system was probably a good stop-gap measure while we worked on drumming up more tournaments across the region. Thanks again to Tom Weber for helping with the math for everything. Please feel free to leave questions or comments if you've got 'em. Aidan & Dale

  22. I have been playing 40k (Marines and Tau) for about 6 months and am interested in starting a small Fantasy Army. Currently I am looking and Vampires and Dwarfs. The latter because its new and I hear it has a low model count. The former because it has a lot of fluff that I have been reading about in books. What I think I want is something with a lot of magic, relatively low or reasonable model count (cost is a factor & would like to start with 800 to 100 points worth of stuff), and lots of interesting fluff. Am I on the right path with these two armies or should I be looking elsewhere? Also I would prefer to play an evil race but it isn't necessary. Thanks in advance for the input! -T
