  1. I've had a few people asking about this and there seems to be no info here in the forum
  2. Back for year 2 of pushing your paint game to the limits! o What: Speed PAINTING TOURNAMENT! o When: Friday, July 24th from 6– 9 pm (Tentatively) o Where: OFCC at the Hilton in Downtown Vancouver o Number of Players (min/max): 8/20 with additional "challenge" seats o Timing: Four, 20 Minute Rounds with 15 minute breaks/judging between o Event Style: Bracket Tournament o Cost: $15 for tournament seat, challenge seats prices TBA o Scoring: Straight up head to head competition in brackets. Winners advance. Audience judges each model. Cleanest, most complete wins the round. o Prizes: First, you get to keep all of the minis that you paint. Second, the winner will walk away with not just the knowledge that they are the fastest brush at OFCC, but… will also get a $50 Gift Certificate to Mindtaker Miniatures! *** NEW THIS YEAR! Challenge seats! Challenge seats are available for anyone who wants to play just for the personal challenge. These seats will not be judged and get to participate in every round. The ticket prices will be higher to cover models used but still a great value for the package. Do you like to take your time and apply two thin coats when one would probably suffice? This may not be the event for you. Participants will be going head-to-head in a bracketed speed painting competition. You will have 20 minutes to paint your miniature. When finished, the judges and crowd will determine the best mini and the winner will progress to the next round. Participant Info · Primed, assembled miniatures will be provided for each round (and are secret until the round starts). · Basic paints and brushes will be provided for contestants but you are allowed, nay encouraged, to bring your own materials. · Please arrive early with enough time to set up your painting area, once set up you will not have to change locations. There will be 15-minute breaks between rounds for cleaning/resetting. · Be prepared for a wide range of subject matter, from AoS to 40K, organic to machine. Primer color will vary as well from round to round. · Completion to tabletop standard is the objective but there is no bonus to finishing earlier than the allotted time. · You are encouraged to join the judging if eliminated. · There will be crowd participation, countdowns and such. Heckling is frowned upon, but cheering is encouraged. This will not be a quiet event. Ticket sales now available.
  3. Is there any interest in having a traditional paint competition (bring a painted model that is displayed and judged) at OFCC 2020? Is anyone interested in collaborating with me to help make this a thing? Still plenty of time to get a submission together!

  15. WE DID IT! OFCC 2019 COMPLETE!! Well, what can we say? Did we all have a great time? Did we all get 5 great games? Did we all make new friends, enemies, or even frienemies (half friend, half enemy)? I certainly did! I would like for all of you take this time while basking in the afterglow of gaming glory to reach out and say "THANK YOU" to the following people who worked very hard to make all of OFCC a reality. @Blustorm - Club Treasurer and Historian, this guy rocks it! Not only did he successfully run the very first OFCC boardgame event (M-A-R-S), he was on hand to ringer for Ordo Bowl AND was available to pack up all the terrain used for the entire event. @ninefinger - Club Consul and all round dreamboat, his calm demeanor and stellar attitude kept all of us in a good place all weekend. He frequently manned the admin table and handled many issues that always come up at the last minute. @evil_bryan - All of us can only hope to look so good at 50! THE guy running the 40K event this year. All I heard was good things from the 40K players. From the missions to the event pins and trophies to the completely 3D printed 6x4 table, we are always happy to see his work appreciated. @Weav - I have to really give it to him. He runs one helluva event. Huge turn outs. Lots of fun. I never could imagine Blood Bowl could be so popular until I met him. @Burk - Crushed in with the very first Ordo BRAFT at OFCC. Everyone needs to buy this guy a diet coke whenever they see him. He stores and transports all the table toppers that pretty much every game system is played on except Blood Bowl, yet he only plays Blood Bowl. THAT is some gamer love right there. @Raindog - Pub Quiz Maestro and Pro-Consul, this guy orangized the Fluger Bag Raffle that raised over $500 dollars for our dear friend. This guy always helps with everything from table setup and to tear down. @Exile - So, when everyone got home did they look inside their swag bag? Did you find one of the most awesome giveaways possible in the form of a OFCC 2019 velcro-backed patch? If you think it is as awesome as I do, please tell this guy. He also orchestrated the entire weekend of Infinity events. @peter.cosgrove - TO for the 40K ITC Open, he ran one of the most casual and relaxed ITC events I have ever seen. He also put in hard work to make enough terrain for three full tables. And then we went on to lead a 40K team through the events of the weekend. @ROGRE - The strong and silent type, this guy helps out where ever he is needed. Admin table, disciplinary committee, and all round great Mars player, we want this guy there every year. @Jay - This year he really got to shine as the creator and designer of the OFCC 2019 logo. @Dark Trainer Our secret weapon for merchandise and sponsorship. This guy arranges to have the shirts and pint glasses made. He solicits stores and companies for the prize support used for the raffle and giveaways. Then he went on to captain an entire team of OFCC newbies! @Bosco - our newest member of the Senate, he took his hazing with a smile and is still showing up the club. Good on ya! This list is by no means extensive. There are so many other responsibilities and duties that need attention and are not mentioned here. OFCC is never just one person. It is the entire club, its members, and its spirit. For the Good of the Order!

  17. Hilton Vancouver 301 W. 6th St. Vancouver, WA, 98660 Hotel Group Code: OWG for our special discount rate! Click this link to book your room now! Hello everyone! I wanted to take some time to put together a good informational post about our venue. Some of you might already be familiar and we are happy to see you returning. For all the new people coming through, this venue is the nicest place I have seen an OFCC happen. From the humble beginnings of the barn and the armory, the Hilton delivers comfort and luxury like no other! Map & Directions The Gaming Hall We booked the largest venue offered by the Hilton, The Heritage Ballroom. That’s 11,000 square feet dedicated to your gaming weekend. High pile carpets caress your feet as you stand across from your opponents (Yes, I played barefoot one year). 18 feet of ceiling space softens the roar of battle coming from across the hall. Brilliant dynamic lighting sets the mood and provides for a not-so-squinty Sunday morning. A dedicated entrance on the east side of the Hilton along with a section of 5 minute parking make loading your things into the hall fast and convenient. Parking Parking is not included in your room stay. The Hilton has parking in their secure garage for $18 per day. However, there are plenty of parking options for the weekend. Any public metered spot is available for free on the weekend. There is also a cheaper pay garage NE of the Hilton, the Park N’ Go located with an entrance off W 6th St. Feel free to use the 5 minute loading/unloading zone located off Columbia St to unload your army and bags into the hall. Please note, we will be using part of this area for loading/unloading of terrain and tables Sunday at 4PM. Local Attractions What venue would be complete without some cool stuff around it? The Downtown Vancouver area always delivers. Almost all of it walkable. The Vancouver Farmers Market takes place every weekend morning across the street in Esther Short Park. Esther Short Park will host Viva Vancouver Latin Festival on the same weekend. Loowit Brewing Company is right out the hall doors and across the street. They fill growlers! Joe’s Crab Shack and its infamously long wait times is within walking distance and will provide Shark Bites by the tray full. Take a tour of the new waterfront reconstruction built on top of the hollowed gaming grounds previously provided by the Red Lion at the Quay. So many other restaurants, bars, and everything else all right next to a great gaming weekend. Please follow the steps below to get our discounted room rate before they are all gone! We have a limited amount of rooms available at this low price, so act fast. The room block closes on 8/9 and has the possibility of running out of rooms. We cannot wait to see you there! For the Good of the Order! You can book through this link or follow the instructions below to do it the manual way. Go to this link - http://www3.hilton.com/en/hotels/washington/hilton-vancouver-washington-PDXVAHH/index.html Click on "More Options" in the banner at the top. Team Captain Craeat - Rob @Craeat This is his 3rd year at OFCC. He was a member of Team Diversity 3 years ago for his inaugural trip to OFCC. Ever since then he was bitten by the OFCC bug. Some of you may remember him as the bringer of the Mastodon a couple of years ago, that became an unofficial achievement to kill it. He has been playing 40K for about 4 - 5 years now and is looking forward to another trip to OFCC as a captain. He will be once again be at helm of the might of the Black Templars. StygianArcanum - Stuart @StygianArcanum Stuart is eager to return this year to OFCC. Appropriately, he will once again be commanding the indestructible Necron legions as the forces of the Sa'atun Dynasty continue to rise... Wyattlanger - Wyatt @Wyattlanger Wyatt will be returning for his second year at OFCC. His love of money and pieces of plastic (one more than the other) is the driving force that has brought him back this year. He will have a new force of a Imperial Fist and Custodes to share his love with everyone at OFCC. Torg - Don @Torg :::Bio transmission incoming::: He will be at the helm of a Eldar force. Team Ordo East has completed the All In achievement This will be updated as the rest of the info is compiled by the librarian.

  21. Hey everyone, this thread is for the second team from Fate and Fury games in Vancouver Washington. Team Fate we are a loyalist themed team in spirt with some Xenos allies, due to teammates unavailability. This will be my 2rd year attending and my first year as team captain. Though some of our teammates this year are new to ordo and/or the OFCC, we all are familiar with the casual spirit of the event and so matches against any of us will prove to be a great time. We look forward to battling it up on the table top with you all. Here is the 2019 Team Fate lineup Mike Janecki / Ash (Astra Militarum) Tim Bischoff/ TheBaron (Imperial Knights) Jeremiah Bergdale / Arizenkin (Eldar ) Nelson Glaze / Phyfor88 (Orks). Pics and lists will follow shortly as we are still practicing the missions and finishing models.

Team Captains will pair off and do list rating and choose who will battle. Once matches are set, we play the missions! We really need a good number of people to have the best experience. The 6PM start time is to give everyone a chance to get to the clubhouse and have a printed list available for their captain. If you do not have access to a printer, I will make available a laptop and a black and white printer at the club. OFCC has always played at 2000 points so everyone can bring their favorite toys. The Rule of Cool will be in full effect. REQUIRED READING: Please see evil_bryan’s post for full details about List Building Guidelines, details on Captain’s responsibilities etc. for OFCC. We want to conduct ourselves as if we were at OFCC playing these games against total strangers in a relaxed and casual setting.
