Yes! I play it! Although I live in Bellingham. Let me know if you are ever in town.

That sounds good, likewise if you're ever around Portland!

I play on occasion and enjoy the game quite a bit. I just picked up a used copy of the Hobbit starter so I could look at how the rules had changed.

That sounds good, Are you located near PDX?

My teen sons and i get a game in every once in a while; when not playing Flames of War or other games and we are in the Portland area.

There is the upcoming GameStorm convention in March. Maybe we could set up a game for then and see if others play as well.

I will definitely look into that, although meeting at a LFGS definitely works for me also.

Howdy,

I moved to Vancouver myself not long ago, and was curious about the GW LotR crowd here. I last played with a pretty good-sized crowd back in Chicago, so of course I don't expect as many folks here to play (we also played War of the Ring pretty hard-core, as well).

My main faction is Dwarf, though I own something for almost every faction. I did pick up the Hobbit boxed set but haven't had a chance to read through the rules to see what is different/has changed yet.

Do people meet in the Vancouver/PDX area to play? Dice Age is the closest store to me (as far as I know) though I live right on the border to Camas. :)

I am in my 40s, very laid-back, I don't cheese and having fun is a higher priority than winning for me. Doesn't mean it will be easy, though! :P

Ah no one ever moves up to bellingham with LoTR :( makes me sad.

Heyas!

There's no one to play with in the Seattle area? I dont know WA geography that well yet, but you're just north of Seattle, right? I'd be really surprised if there's no one  at any of their stores that doesn't play?

I actually have some goblins and enough dwarves for War of the ring. I have a box of Easterlings and Harad (I may have sold my Harad) as well as a bunch of Minas Tirith/Dol Amroth. Oh and an army of Arnor with their two special characters. The fellowship as well. I'm willing to make some trades for my LoTR collection since no one plays. I'm in Bellingham btw (well in another week).

For any of you LotR players still around, here is a very nice post I just saw today that I thought I would pass on. It was made by user Paradigm over on Dakka:

OR user Dr Grant and his fellow hobbists have been working for the last few months on putting together a very nice SBG fanzine, issue two of which was released free today. They've got plenty of content that's easily worthy of the best days of White Dwarf/BGiME, including battle reports, tacticas and hobby articles, all put together very profrssionaly. While you can pay to get hard copies or early access the two issues so far are completely free for download, and well worth having a virtual leaf through!

Here is issue 1:

If you want to give any feedback, there's a discussion thread here:

Reviving a long quiet thread as I'm looking to get back into this game after a long respite.

I'd like to get back to playing before the new rule set (Middle Earth SBG) comes out this fall. If anyone would like to meet up for a game or two, just reply. I'm close to GG or WoW.

Up for playing points match, scenarios or battle companies. I can field Isengard, Moria, Rohan or Minas Tirith, or smaller forces of Eregion, Numenor or Mordor.

It'd be fun to get a campaign going to play out the scenarios in the Fellowship journey book.
