Fitz
Like the topic said. I don't think I can bring myself to head back to 40K after a 20 year absence, so I was thinking Infinity. Does anyone play it regularly at WoW?
Torg
I have the starter set - want to play - but so far only have worked through the demo game a couple times. Bloodbowl and OFCC 40k prep have taken over my hobby allotment. I can bring it to game night if your wanting to try learning it through the demo box. -d
Fitz
Twould be good. Not this week as I have my BB game scheduled, but perhaps on the 9th that would be cool. Just looking at the entry bar for 40k and going .... No thanks!
Jay
I might be down for that too. I have the OpIce box too and I have not been able to try it yet. I played a few games in the previous edition.
wisetiger7
I have a Yu Jing vanilla army that I've been meaning to try out. Haven't played a game yet, except for the first couple missions in the starter box. So I'm a noob too.
savion47
I have the box set as well as a bunch of haqq that I talk about playing all the time. Sadly I don't know the rules much at all, but I'd love to learn along with everyone.
Fitz
Maybe it would be a nice filler between BB leagues? ;-) I'm planning on picking up the Japanese starter set whilst I'm home in blighty for the next week. I'm figuring on being at the club on June 9th so maybe we could play then. Does WoW have suitable terrain? From what I've seen it has a fairly hard requirement for good mult-level terrin compared to 40k.
Torg
wow - maybe we should plan a learning league or something. There used to be some more necromunda style stuff in a box at wow… I will have a search next time I am there. -d
Jay
I am building up a collection of terrain but I only have one table at the moment.
Torg
well if we all show up at the same game night - those of us with the box set - we could have a learning night… sounds like so far Jay you have more experience than most of us :) - I will try to run through another demo game before we meet up… But does GN (ORDO WoW - Tuesday June 9th work for anyone?) -d
Fitz
Ordered a bunch of ninjas and motorbike dudes today. They will arrive before I get back from England!
Jay
I have the JSA sectorial and a couple bike and the Haramaki painted up. I also have a Bakunin nomad force mostly painted.
Torg
I have just what comes with the box (ice storm)… 2 teams… and the special fig. I also ordered the book with that special fig too. I'll add Infinity style terrain to my project list lol. -d
George
I can show up on June 9th game night and help people learn the game. I'm running the Friday Infinity tournament at the OFCC this year. Everyone bring their stuff and we'll run through the basics and get in some demo games for everyone.

wisetiger7
How many points are we looking at for the demo games?
George
What I'm planning on is playing games straight out of the operation icestorm quick start rules. We can probably go past the first mission and get into the second one. I'll need someone to bring theirs because I don't own Icestorm. I just want to give everyone the basics on how to play and we'll go over list building as well.
Torg
I'll be bringing my icestorm box with figs assembled (base colors) -d
Jay
I am planning on bringing my Icestorm too.
wisetiger7
Ack! I can't make June 9th. I have basketball every Tuesday. Maybe I'll meet up with you guys some other time. Also, I've already played the first three missions of Icestorm, so I can miss this first one.
Fitz
Yeah, let's start with Ice Storm. I had my first game(s) last night at my old gaming club in the UK and had a blast. Also, my Yu Jing stuff should be in before I get back to the USA. I think you can probably play the ice storm missions with the content of any starter box to begin with. Just sub in equivalent troops for the ice storm missions.
Natefoo
There is also a group of folks that play at Red Castle Games every Thursday. Most people there would be happy to give a demo game. Infinity rocks!!!
wisetiger7
Ya, I'm never going to Red Castle ever again. The first (and last) time I went, because it was right by where I was living at the time, thinking this could be a closer place to game now and then. My roommate and I walked in and stood in front of the warhammer area, then over to the register. 20 minutes go by and not one "hi" or "how may I help you". There were just a few people in the back at a table being obnoxiously loud. I walked over to who I assumed was the employee, and asked how the warhammer scene was there, tourneys or even just game nights or pick up games. The f**ker had the gall to roll his eyes like I'm f**king inconveniencing him, and I just turned around and walked out. Usually I like to give people second chances. Not this f**ker. He probably lost that place thousands in business from my roommate and I alone.

Jay
I love Red Castle. I have never had an experience like that. I am there at least every other week. How long ago was this?
