Please Help! Extra-Life

Hello I was told by a Friend, Jake Richmond, that your find group might be able to help me out in a pinch.

I have been planning to be running an Extra-Life Event this coming Saturday. Extra Life unites thousands of players around the world in a 24 hour gaming marathon to support Local Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Since its inception in 2008, Extra Life has raised more than $14 million for local CMN hospitals. This has been confirmed for over the last month that I would be running a 24 hour straight game for this.

However, I was just informed by Epic Gaming's new Marketing & Brand Manager that the store will not be participating in this years Extra-Life. This is contrary to what i was told previously on Two separate occasions.

So I am currently scrambling to find a new venue and have sent messages to The Portland Game Store, Guardian Games, and Red Castle Games in the hopes to find a new home for the event and I am currently waiting to hear back. I asked for suggests from my friends and Jake suggested your fine group saying that you might have a location that i could use to run 24hrs of Shadowrun at and that could hold 8+ players for the duration of the event.

seeing as how this is for charity i was hoping that wouldn't be a problem. I don't have money and originally nothing was being charged to play in the event other than either setting up an Extra-Life page and raising money during the event for Local Children's Miracle Network Hospitals or by donating to the one I setup. Are you able to help me?

Skull,

You might give Mythic Realms a try, as well. It's in Salmon Creek (Northside Vancouver, WA) with easy access to I-5 and I-205.

I know they are running a 40K Extra Life event on Saturday. Not sure what their hours or space availability is, but it might be worth a call?

Good luck sir!

Part of me says it sounds like you need to get networking and may have found yourself short.

If I were you I'd get plugged in with each and every store you're hoping to plead for help and invest in them.

Your investment now turns into help later.

This advice may suck for this situation, but it'll pay dividends in your future of running events.

WOW could certainly hold 8+ gamers for 24 hrs, though I've no idea how you'd go about renting or reserving the space.

Another to look into would be that Retro Game Trader. Burk Bungalow and his brother run it and they've had space for gaming in the past.
