indytims
I mentioned this possibility on Dakka as soon as the Specialist Games Division was announced.... Why wouldn't WHFB join the ranks of Epic, LotR, Blood Bowl, etc?
splinx
Agreed Tim! I think it may join the Specialist games as a tester to see if it generates more revenue the AOS and go from specialist game to major company stream again. I think the cancellation of WHF alienated a lot of customers who could be tempted back if there were some small launches in the Specialist game range. Torg
I wonder if the Warhammer Historical stuff would be on the list? Legends of the wild west would be cool to check out. -d
InfestedKerrigan
I didn't catch the "Most of the product will be branded as crack and overpriced for most casual gamers" line. Damn.
Prophecy
To not see warmaster is disappointing. It has some of the fairest rules they have ever made. I hope they avoid stand alone terrible box sets. The models are usually nice with terrible rules. I just think the fantasy based specialist games had better rules, factions, and playability. The only game that I don't believe deserves a full revival is inquisitor. It really isn't a good game.
tombking
The only game that I don't believe deserves a full revival is inquisitor. I think Fantasy Flight taking over the whole line of RPG stuff has that tied up on their end.

I really hope that the new specialist line will not only be sold VIA FW, otherwise it will be out of my price range.
Swan-of-War
Forge World and GW are inching ever so closer together price-wise though
Guest Mr. Bigglesworth
Yeah but fw is still way higher because of shipping costs.
InfestedKerrigan
When they came for Epic players, I said nothing because I didn't play Epic. When they came for Blood Bowl players, I said nothing because I didn't play Blood Bowl. When they came for Necromunda players, I said nothing because I didn't play Necromunda. When they came for Battle Fleet Gothic players, I said nothing because I didn't play Battle Fleet Gothic. When they came for Fantasy players, I said nothing because I didn't play Fantasy. When they came for 40k I had no one to call to for help. Well?
PourSpelur
When I first read about this I was really stoked. "Holy Cow! GeeDub's actually listening to their fans and giving them what they want!". The more I think about it I come to a different conclusion. After a bit of Googling about copyright and trademark I found that Trademarks need to be renewed every 10 years and can be denied due to not being actively used. I don't find it inconceivable that they applied to have the Epic Trademarks renewed, got denied and realized they only had two options. Allow other companies to make new Epic branded product or make new Epic branded content. This combined with GW's fanatic defence of their IP combined to release a couple products for each "dead" games, thus protecting them. Could be true, coincidences, better decisions or random luck though too. Just an idea that popped into my head;)
