Ardennes Compilations Spotted...

Current currency conversion shows $54.00

Looking at the design notes for the three paperback handbooks, it does appear that the units from these books:

1) Blood, Guts & Glory

2) Nuts!

3) The Devil's Charge

...are included in the Compilation

It will most likely be $60 for the compilation, that's been the standard pricing for their hard-back books.  $30 a piece

I cannot make a full comparison. I only have 1 of the earlier 3 books.

The list for the Brits looks about right:

The British and Canadians in the Ardennes Campaign

... and don't forget Come out Fighting - the unit's autobiography...

Available as images here:  http://www.761st.com/gallery3/index.php/cof0a

Another good book (probably the best single book I've read on the 761st) is:

The 761st Black Panther Tank Battalion in World War II: An Illustrated History of the First African American Armored Unit to See Combat

by Joe Wilson Jr. (Author), Julius W. Becton Jr. (Foreword) (Author), Joseph E. Wilson Sr. (Afterword) (Author)

https://www.amazon.com/761st-Black-Panther-Battalion-World/dp/0786428627/ref=sr_1_5?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1470439588&sr=1-5&keywords=761st+tank+battalion

Of the books above, Kareem's is actually one of the best.  Sasser seems unconcerned about getting the details about opposing German forces correct and passes along war stories verified with at best an encyclopedia level understanding of the Wehrmacht.  Pfeifer's book is essentially a kid's book.  I've picked up DiNicolo's book, but haven't had time to read it yet.

BTW,

When I was was stationed in Germany (formerly known as "West Germany" a.k.a. "Federal Republic of Germany" or FRG),

I took a guided tour of some of the Ardennes battlefields including both German and US positions: Schnee Eifel and Bastogne.
We also followed Peiper's route all the way to la Gleize and Stoumont.

We did it in mid-December.

The days were appropriately overcast and dark.

The woods were snowy and foggy.

These tours are not the same as mine, but they give some insight

More of a photo collection, with some "then-and-now" comparisons

Hey Fing, ever since BGG came out, I have been a fan of Lt Boggess and his run through assenois to break the siege of Bastogne. Do you have any suggestions on reading material or where I can find more specific details on which versions of Sherman's made that run with Lt boggess?

Let me go digging - I think I have some information on that.  Will take me a couple of days.
