TONS of work done on the display in the last few days.  The major parts are all assembled, now it's just a matter of doing the little details and cleaning up any obvious mistakes.   Once that is done I can concentrate on getting my final models done and everything will be set and ready!

Getting a few things done before working today.  The scout is getting his camo redone to match the scots guard, and to look less polka-dotish.   The SG himself is getting worked on, hopefully to be done by the time I go to sleep tonight.  That will leave just 2 and a half to go!

Scots Guard is almost finished.  I forget that with models who are so dark that the basing really brings them to life.  Until then they seem so empty and drab, but the little bits of green and red/orange on the bases somehow make the small details on the model stick out.   The Last Antipode is also in the pipeline, should have it done today as well.

Almost as if you have a desaturated scheme that really pops with the addition of the bright colors on the base :biggrin:.

Highlights
-No one with dice that could hit anything (seriously, troops on each side blew so many easy rolls!)
-Antipodes who grabbed a recorder and transmitter saved my bacon
-The world's strongest Mulebot
-Pano wip finally working out

Seriously, this was a weird game.  We both spent the majority of our time failing to kill roadblock models and desperately trying to get objectives in a stalemate of a crossfire.   In the third turn he came out on top with more recording devices, and grabbed the win.

I'm forgetting a model from the list, but that is the gist of it.  

Highlights
-My scout dying to a pistol crit from a foxtrot (a sign of things to come in later games)
-Chasseur went and ran up the right flank, somehow staying out of sniper range just to fail mulitple attempts to kill a line kazak
-Spetz going up the middle to grab a civilian and pull them back around
-Having to assassinate his Chasseur in order to unlink his civilian
-Finally killing that Kazak with the Chasseur, who happened to be his LT


This game was insane back-and-forth, and probably the only game that I had any luck in all weekend.  I managed to get the win, but if I had to do it again I wouldn't bet on myself.

This, plus something else that I can't remember.

Highlights
-Scout puts down a bot, but ends up taking lots of shots to the face down the road.   
-The Intruder held down a ton of the board, and I finally managed to bring him down with luck and lots of bullets.
-I push my spec ops just a little too far on my second short skill and get shot in the face, ending a last turn run for the beacon.
-My spets runs up to finish the job, but suffers the same fate.
-Bob's bandit makes a last turn run on the beacon, I manage to stop him right when he makes contact with it and we end in a tie.

This game was a lot of fun, and reminded me of how much I fear intruders.  That damn sniper had great board coverage and I had to spend a lot of time dislodging him before I could press forward.   The last turn was a blast, Bob and I both made epic yet tragic runs for the objectives and ended up with nothing to show but more dead bodies :)

Some load outs probably wrong in that one.  

 

Highlights
-Chris positions his Gecko and I have a nice long shot with my now ODD HMG spec ops.   He rolls a one and hits (I'm now realizing this was also a crit, but he thought he needed twos), and I miss on a 14.  Spec ops down.
-My scout had revealed to shoot as well and missed.
-The gecko shoots at the scout and kills it, I fail to hit back.
-Gecko gets about halfway up my board and I try to hit it with a missile, missile launcher goes down, Gecko goes into suppressive.
-I go after the gecko with antipodes.  After getting them all into CC, they are all killed at the same time by shots, but I hit him 3 times at ph 17, ap
-Gecko makes all of it's saves on 15s.
-Spets goes down and kills and alquacile.   Next order spets is crit and misses with 4 shots.
-Chasseur moves up, tries to FO for a last minute hail mary.  Chasseur either misses and gets crit or just outshot, I can't remember which.
-Veronin lives, everything else is dead or a zombie.

This game was so epicically bad that I couldn't help but smile.  By the end I knew that every move I made would end in tragedy, and indeed it did.   Poor Chris felt like absolute crap as he watched his dice crit me time and time again, but that's just how it goes sometimes.  I don't know if I'd want to have another game like this, but I would absolutely play Chris anytime.

Highlights
-First order of the game, Spets is crit by viral ammo, fails to wound on 4 shots. 
-My spec op takes out the lasiq, missile launcher from the link, and then gets crit by a sniper shot.
-I move the antipodes to block the ladder from his Fiday going after Veronin.
-He spies some antipodes, I try to ARO with the missile launcher and get crit.
-He moves up and opens the doors, letting out zombies.  
-I dodge into the room on his last order, manage to get points for the first round!
-Chasseur goes on a killing spree, takes out the sniper, spec op, and Leila in just a few orders.  
-Last turn I think I am in retreat because I forgot that baggage is a thing.
-Riley kills off the zombies and grabs George in the last turn for all the points!

Another game where all my heavy hitting swc pieces got crit very early on.  Oh well, that's how it goes.  The Chasseur rallied and did serious work in the second round.  If She had stayed alive I might have been able to pull out a win, instead it's a crushing loss for Ariadna.  Still, this was another amazing game and I had a great time.



There you have it, another OFCC in the books.  I've gotten energized about my army again and hope to keep up the momentum on painting, but even as I type that I can hear my inner self doubting it :)     Thanks to everyone for putting together a great event, and I look forward to seeing you all again!

Assembled a Chasseur and some Line Kazaks.   I was hoping it would distract me from the heat...what a fool I was.   I'd like to get them primed tonight, but all of my hobby things are in disarray from OFCC paint-a-ton.   


Really looking forward to getting back to 300 points so that I can bust out some more models.

Well, it looks like I've been forgetting that sensor requires a roll to work.  The good news is that it's a wip+6, so I'd only be failing 1 time out of 20.  STILL, I apologize to anyone that I have been free-sensoring against.  

The better news is that I've been overlooking the fact that having sensor gives a +6 to discover rolls against camo, so got to remember that!

Infinity stuff:
Today I got 5 more camo markers assembled and primed as well as priming 12 other Ariadna models that had yet to get a base coat.  

General bitching:
It's hot and I hate it.  Had to pump ~800 dollars into my car for a systems check, new battery, and new alternator.   Messing around with lists and working on models is my escape.
