Anybody know how to effectively get a hold of Black Sheep Industries? I placed an order on 21 Sep 16 for the Red Veil terrain set plus the scatter set. I was told a 10 day turn around time. On 18 Oct 16 I contacted Black Sheep to inquire and was told he had laser troubles and my stuff would be done ASAP. Ok no problem. Now we're almost two months into the purchase and I get no response through Facebook messenger. I'm a reasonable guy. Just communicate with me and let me know what's up! Any ideas?

Lots of proxies tonight unfortunately.  I dont have any Celestial Guard or Kuang Shi so one Zanshi will have to be a C.Guard and the Shaolin Monks will play the role of Kuang Shi. My Yaxies arrived but are still under construction so my CA Remote will be my Rui Shi.  The only other thing is my Yan Huo had a missing piece so he will not be weilding his dual missile launchers.

Great game tonight vs Jays Yu Chang. I lost horribly but mainly do to inexperience. I hid too many models on turn one so the other force moved up the table and into good positions freely without AROs. Big mistake on my part!

What's funny about this to me is that the inverse is true in Limited Insertion.  It's hard to break the habit of not hiding your models in that format when we've all spent so much time breaking the habit of hiding them in the first place!

That is quite the weak Group zone you have there with two hidden pieces and only eight orders to begin with. I like the idea of the list, but I'd probably try shave down some points to get a few more orders. I'd start with the Pheasant as he's probably better served at higher points. Maybe think about swapping the Lu Duan for a Rui Shi for a bit more hitting power as well. It would go especially well if you downgraded the Pheasant to some sort of normal hacker so you could slap Marksmanship2 on the bugger.

Cheers.

I don't know exactly what models GG has and I cannot tell what missions you're playing as I'm not part of your group so my advice definitely comes in blind, but I'm also not suggesting removing the visors nor that the list is bad per se. What I'm trying to do is help someone who is self-professedly newer to the game. I can definitely go deeper into my thoughts now that I know more about the mission y'all were playing.

I kinda get the idea of running Shaolin in a mission like that as CC fighters with direct template weapons could be rather cool as neither of their functions are lessened by the low vis. However, I'd question the choice of Shaolin given that, because visors are incentivized, the power of smoke is diminished as many factions can skip straight form MSV1 to MSV2 and thus ignore the smoke as well. This isn't to say that that is what happened/will happen, but instead that it is a likely occurrence.

Moving away from what low vis means to the list's construction, I'd again look back to the issue of the order count.  The main group, while 8 models strong, has two Hidden Deployment pieces and several cheerleaders. It is pretty lacking in raw strength, but the specialist package is decent. That said it doesn't bode well for a list when, turn one, you have a maximum of seven regular orders assuming no deaths when that isn't necessary. Without putting limitations on models as I don't know GG's collection I'd probably start by swapping the Zhanshi paramedic with a Celestial Guard w/ Kuang Shi Control Device and two of the Shaolin for Kuang Shi in the main group. In this way you still get the benefits of Chain Rifles, the smoke from keeping a Shaolin and getting a LSGL without playing too hard into MSV2 cancellation, and you get to have your main combat group at full efficacy from the start. Personally I'd also swap the Lu Duan for a Rui Shi, but that's definitely a style choice. Nothing wrong with a holo2 flamethrower!

Also, if you're in a mission with MSV being boosted so much, I'd highly recommend checking out the Guilang. Not only are they excellent in standard games, they also come packaged with MSV1 which would be great for this mission! You could easily take the opportunity to infiltrate into a heavy weapon's, such as an HMG, bad range and then open up with a normal combi to devastating effect given the stack of range, cover, low vis, camo, and Surprise Shot coming back at them. Hell, against a TR bot they cannot hit you at all with their gun and will have to try a dodge (at a pretty big negative) to negate the shot. Pretty sexy stuff!

Dust off!

Okay, advice needed. I'm coming home soon and my thoughts are on building and painting some terrain. I've seen many different ideas on the web and would love some feedback. I've seen buildings that all look alike from one manufacturer and I've seen all different types of buildings from many manufacturers. Which do you like better? Similar look and feel or all sorts of different types, shapes and looks?

The same goes with painting. I've seen tables with all of the buildings in virtually the same design and color or tables where you get a skittle effect with each building a different color. What's the preference? What about doing a modern look to the buildings with metallic colors - silvers, chromes, with small color effects like stripes or geometric shapes? Anyone seen that? I think in my minds eye I would like to do a blade runner city look. What does that mean or how to pull that off is the question.

I like to choose what the place is in my mind first. Haq canassay, nomad outpost, pano suburbs, Yu Jing tenements, etc. one I have a them picked out I can move on to colors. Google image search can be great Insipration. I also often pick colors based on the mat I'm using. I would advise against using actual metallic paints for terrain because they expose material blemishes and can destroy the illusion of scale.

How often in a modern day city do you see uniformity in design and construction? Colors might be closer in the same pallet but building types, shapes and sizes very based on location, and aesthetic of the day.

What does a Blade Runner table look like to you all? Gritty, dark, neon signs, graffiti everywhere and lots of rain!

I took hackers last night but failed to use them at all.  I really need to practice using them.  From the sounds of the other table they can be frustratingly fun.

In your defense you were playing against the army with the least hackable units in the game.  It would have been a very different story against a more technologically advanced force!
