barca
ZEKE helped me with the conversions. He did a LOT of work. Also got advice from forum discussions at WWPD. Here is what I found: 1) Your "Colours of War" and Vallejo Model paints can be used for Team Yankee. 2) Controversy/confusion around "Soviet Green" not a big deal 3) some mix-up in "Maverick Khaki" product code (and therefore paint matching) between the American and British paint sets. 4) No COW match for Hind Blue, but there is a Vallejo color that is a close match. I do not profess to be perfect, so if someone has different information or disagrees, plz comment. Listed below are Team-Yankee Paint conversions - Team-Yankee (TYP) = Colours of War (FWP) = Vallejo Model Color Note: Vallejo Model Color paint codes usually have a "70." prefix Team Yankee American Paint Set (TYP190) http://www.flamesofwar.com/hobby.aspx?art_id=4952 = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Team-Yankee (TYP) = Colours of War (FWP) = Vallejo Model Color # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # TYP350 Yankee Green = FWP347 GI Green = FWP347 is a new colour, between 993 US Dark Green and 895 Gunship Green TYP321 Cobra Drab = FWP321 Sherman Drab = 887 Brown Violet TYP340 Warthog Green = FWP340 Heer Green = 979 German Camo Dark Green TYP481 Rocket Steel = FWP481 Cold Steel = 865 Oily Steel TYP383 Woodland Brown = FWP383 Motherland Earth = 983 Flat Earth TYP303 Thunderbolt Grey = FWP303 Panzer Grey = 995 German Grey **TYP344 Maverick Khaki = FWP344 Jager Green = 833 German Camo Bright Green TYP492 Ordinance Shade = FWP492 Manstein Shade = 201 Black Shade **Note: in the British paint set, "Maverick Khaki" is listed as code "TYP346" and compatible with FWP346 Afrika Green = 881 Yellow Green Team Yankee Soviet Paint Set (TYP191) http://www.flamesofwar.com/hobby.aspx?art_id=4953 = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Team-Yankee (TYP) = Colours of War (FWP) = Vallejo Model Color # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # TYP350 Soviet Green (1)* = FWP348 Firefly Green = 894 924 Russian Uniform TYP350 Soviet Green (2)* = FWP327 Military Khaki = 988 Khaki TYP350 Soviet Green (3)* = <none> = 857 Golden Olive TYP323 Leather Brown = FWP323 Boot Brown = 872 Chocolate Brown TYP352 Crocodile Yellow = FWP362 Sicily Yellow = 914 Green Ochre TYP492 Ordinance Shade = FWP492 Manstein Shade = 201 Black Shade TYP326 Comrade Khaki = FWP326 Comrade Khaki = 880 Khaki Grey or 879 Green Brown TYP402 Hind Blue = ? = 961 Sky Blue TYP481 Rocket Steel = FWP481 Cold Steel = 865 Oily Steel *Soviet Green(1), (2) and (3) is problematic. The Soviets produced millions of combat vehicles in umpteen different factories scattered across one of the largest continuous land masses in the world. They were not all using the same paint pot, no reason you should either. I currently have Russian stuff painted in 6 different shades ranging from pale light green up to very dark olive drab, not to mention the US and British lend lease stuff. ZEKE
The main thing I noticed with the Team Yankee paints and Colors of War paints is that they use the same serial number even though they sometimes change the name, example: TYP341 NATO Green = FWP341 Tankovy Green So then, I just had to find the colors of war conversion charts to vallejo
YogoZuno
Be aware, that chart has a misprint...Russian Uniform is actually Vallejo 924. Vallejo 894 is Cam Olive Green.
