  1. So far, we've played a couple of basic learning games. We usually start around 5-6pm and the store has several good tables to play on. If enough people with fleets want to play, we cat set up more scheduled games.

    I have 1 "space" table cover and some "space terrain" to get 1 table started, so anything else helps.  So far, we have Imperial, Chaos, and Ork.

  2. I've been running the West Germans since they came out and I am still enjoying them.  The Marder infantry formations are the best, either with marders or with m113s.  I still prefer the older Leopard 2, and the Older Marder, fewer points so I can add in more Gepards and Milan missiles.

  3. Also,  at the last enfilade a couple years ago,  some paratroopers were left behind in my terrain buildings.  If you played paratroopers a couple years ago, check for MIAs, my Glidermen came across some of your missdropped paratroopers and have been haning out. Though the paratroopers have lost considerable $ to the glidermen, I think they're using loaded dice.

    Remember, even after more than 10 years of playing, I still can’t run infantry right. Ed clobbers me every time I try!

    Haha, me too.  I've been at this since 2006, and suck with infantry (either mine or my opponents), but I can kick ass with tanks.

  5. I like low points as well (especially as an allied player).  Makes for a different game. plus recon & other misc formation/units become more valuable.  I don't think Germans fare too well with low points, but, I do have a pretty decent pzgren list.  With lower points you may see more infantry centric Axis players  Vs more tank centric Ally players.

  6. Thank you for picking up the baton!

    I am up for anything.  James B. (last years organizer) and I were discussing of getting more in-depth with the national format with the hopes of making it a future sanctioned event.   But in light of the short time-frame do what you want, nobody will complain. 🙂       130 late war would bring out some big tanks.      but remember, more pts usually requires more needed game time.

  7. There are some people playing in Oregon City on Tuesday nights (Oregon City Geeks & Games). Though its mixed in with Flames of War. But, there are a few regular players that prefer Team Yankee.

    Different eras is still in the works. It kinda resembles, Vietnam/YomKippur (60s-70s), then cold war (80s and before Desert Storm),  and lastly, Post Desert Storm.

  8. I had thought about making a "Travel Flames of War" game set using GHQ 6mm stuff.  The conversion is very easy, instead of Inches use centimeters. So, the table would be 36cm x 72cm instead of 36"x72".        But, I like the idea of using Bolt-Action rules and FOW pieces, that way won't have to buy all new 6mm models and all new 6mm terrain.  Will have to look into it !!!

    I don't know Bolt Action rules. To convert 28mm to 15 mm,  If the system measures by inches, then simply replace all " (inch) symbol reference to cm. This is actually pretty close to the correct ratio.

  9. I am still playing. There have been limited weekly games in Oregon City on Tuesday nights.

    Recently put together & painted "Death or Glory" boys squadron (MidWar Brit).  I started with the formation in the Armored Fist book, then used a couple command cards. In the end, it's the same pieces acting the same manner as they did in previous editions. Everything is more ... ala-cart.

    As for 4th edition play style;

    - If you are more into Fun, this is better as the rules are less boggy and the Unit & command cards are awesome.

    - If you are more into historical, the older editions have more & delve in deeper.

    Me personally, I have always enjoyed each of the editions and since I am more into the painting & just playing around, 4th ed is good.
