  1. I agree with VonVilkee fenderless trucks would work fine...Plus good Big Mechs aint gots no time for "heath and safety"
  2. I think an Orky versions of the german Opel Blitz Truck would sell like hot cakes. Possible Sd.Kfz 7s or Maultiers could also be cool There could be a way to possibly do mix and match Cabs, Beds, Wheels and Tracks...just some food for thought. I do like the idea of various german scrap tanks and larger tigers and pzIVs as looted tanks or other ork vehicles heres some pics of the trucks im talking about :) opel blitz Maultier sd.kfz 7
  3. So...I'm going to the Beasts of War Team Yankee boot camp. I can let you guys know how it goes If anyone cares, I could take some pictures and write up a post for you Team Yankee fans :)
  4. Who else is excited for Team Yankee!!!!
  5. okok... that does seem extravagant to make a special contemptor dreadnought, but you do get 60 marines, 10 pretorians, 4 characters and a second contemptor...thats like a whole space marine army :)
  6. I got to see the models form the boxset today...and i will say they are all very nice. I really like the contemptor dreadnought, easily magnetizable. Get two boxes and make the two assault gun contemptor! The GW guy wouldn't let me take any pictures but he did let me fondle them and Im tempted to start a Marine are again, none of the models have chapter markings so they could be any chapter ;)
  7. This paint scheme makes this board look way better then the usual dark rusty metal that I have seen at the local GW store. great job!
  8. If you want GWs take on the event check out this newsletter article...also check out the first picture in the article, its my Onegars (can I now say I'm a pro painter? ;) ) http://warhammerworld.games-workshop.com/2015/07/21/throne-of-skulls-steel-fury-review/
  9. the problem with those full trees is that they are not very play friendly...they look great but are solid as a rock here you can see one of my onegar bases sitting on top of one... the trees weren't remove-able so you always had to set things on top of them. they sure did look nice though and i assume were made out of multiple sets.
  10. This past weekend I went to Warhammer World in Nottingham. They were having a Throne of Skulls tournament (basically 1875 everything goes - forgeworld, unbound, CTA, as many formations and detachments you want all the rules they make you can use. However the tournament champion is the player with the most favorite opponent votes and most victory points, so don't be a dick)...any way I went because they just remodeled and thought Its a good excuse to use some PTO and play some games and see the warhammer holy land. I was not disappointed with the facilities...the exhibits were awesome in person - https://plus.google.com/photos/114383989890361366865/albums/6174331690378492577 this is an album of pictures from my phone(so not super great) This is my favorite part seeing a 'life-size' rhino in person is hilarious because it still makes you wonder how 10 8 foot tall super soldiers fit inside a thing that's only a little over 6 foot high...That being said its still super awesome and if i ever win the lottery I'm having one made! Bugmans bar is cool, they have a nice food menu and a good selection of beers plus Bugman's XXXX which is surprisingly refreshing...they were out of it on tap so i had to have it in a bottle The Tournament went well had 5 fun games and got a Best Army honorable mention Having a whole store full of forgeworld is also quit dangerous for someone who likes their models made of resin more then they probably should. I did contemplate this but getting it in my hand luggage was not an option...so i ended up with just the engineerseer (he's the little at the big guys foot) and a couple other small things, they have everything there its ridiculous :) Here is an album of pictures from the tournament and the open gaming tables plus some of the Bugmans bar and the general facilities. https://plus.google.com/photos/114383989890361366865/albums/6174333570314067809 The Throne of Skulls events may not be everyone's cup of tea...but it was relaxed, well coordinated, lots of friendly staff, and beer was available...so leaning toward on the laid back side of things. I did take notes about the tournament but really that wasnt the reason I went...I just went to experience all things warhammer on a disneyland level and this place did just that. I highly recommend going if you're every in England or Ireland or for that matter anywhere in Europe...flights are cheap over here :)
  11. Project: Skitarii falcon...moves on to stage two...DPing my way to the top. here are my nine new droppods ready for paint...that little guy to the left is my Skitarii Culexus Assassin :)...people love invisibility over here. Heres some Forgeworld/cult mech goodies I'm working on...I'm going to use the FW tech priest as a Dominus and the engineerseer as a Datasmith
  12. Just wanted to post up a pic of my DPs and say a big thank you to KAPcom and Burk for getting these to me. These are very nicely engineered models and fun to build. If someone wants a unique drop-pod alternative these are a great option. I am very pleased with them.
  13. Newest addition to the Skitarii 'manpile' and now painted its just a quick paint job...I got 8 more to work on :)... big thanks KAPcom for making an awesome model and Burk for getting these to me. I'll be DPing my enemies in no time
  14. I have finished the neutron onegars. and now the whole squad
  15. Hello drop Pod people I recently decided that my Skitarii need drop pods and to the end I have looked for alternate models to go with the army. Only finding one I liked put getting them to Ireland proved insurmountable http://www.ordofanaticus.com/index.php?/topic/25069-admech-work-log/ So I endeavored to make my own cheap drop pods...that while may not look as cool as the ones above...are cheap and easily replaceable. I found a few articles to help me on my way one was super cool looking, but not simple http://santacruzwarhammer.blogspot.ie/2007/11/low-buck-drop-pods-that-dont-suck.html the other was an oldie but goodie, however this one may be too simple for my taste http://wargamingforums.com/2007/11/14/40k-drop-pods-on-the-cheap/ I this settle on the PVC pipes as a good base to start with...so off to the hardware SHOPPE(I am in europe so you gotta write it that way) :) And I found the following pvc pipe fittings for less then 6 euro (cheap for this island) then i went at it with some plasticard and i little drill bit and made this and the neat thing with this is that the bottom unscrews and I can add some foam and have actual model transporters :)
