  1. Ah. I misread and/or misremembered the rule.
  2. But it does raise the question: what happens when non-Character models make a Heroic Intervention?
  3. According to some folks on Reddit (so take this with some skepticism) the Primaris Chaplain on Bike will be M14", WS2+, BS3+, T5, A4, Wounds 7, Save 3+/4++, and has the Angels of Death Rule for +1 Attack on the Charge... For 130 Points. He’s basically a Custodes Shield-Captain on Dawneagle Jetbike that cannot Fly. But he’s also gonna get a pile of special rules via Chapter Tactics.
  4. I’m gonna tentatively say I’ll be there and I’ll bring my Marvel Crisis Protocol stuff.
  5. Why do you think Slaanesh had all the Emperor’s Children?
  6. “Function following form” is standard procedure for Citadel Miniatures. It’s an open secret that their concept artists come up with a design first and then the rules team figures out what to do with it.
  7. It’s a Do It Yourself kit, you gotta add the flame, chains, plasma pistol, and cocaine yourself. The new Eldar Avatar kit requires you to add your own head, which is weird, but the rest of the model is cool:
  8. A nice summary of major rules changes from Goonhammer. Also, congratulations to Slaaneshi Chaos Space Marine players, GW has just released a new Doomrider kit.
  9. So many little quirks of GW’s games could be solved if they’d just switch to a d10 based system.
  10. The larger scale (1:48) of the models really lets the sculptors do a lot of great detail work. My mediocre painting skills (and Contrast paint and washes) make them all look pretty good, the stuff some of the top-tier painters can do with these models is amazing. If (hopefully, when) they release the Fantastic Four and Doctor Doom, I might have to treat myself to having a commission painter do them for me.
  11. “Alexa, order me two Coronus Grav Carriers on Amazon.” ”Okay, Google: How do I sell my own kidney?”
  12. I’m sure most of my questions about terrain will be settled by a proper read-through of the full rulebook... and I’m prepared to sacrifice certain levels of “realism” for efficient gameplay.
  13. The “infinitely tall” terrain bugs me a bit, because it means a unit on the roof of a 10” tall building cannot draw line of sight over a 5” tall building... Wha–? I’m also a little confused on how catwalks, gantries, overhead pipelines, and bridges (all staples of a grimdark industrial battlefield) Consider something like the terrain set, below, that we’ve all seen a thousand times... Can a unit standing on the table surface shoot under the bridge at a unit, also on the table surface, that is on the other side of the bridge?
  14. @peter.cosgrove when is good for you?
  15. WH40k only really has two types of characters: “squishy wizards“ and “smashy barbarians.” Squishy wizards, like Farseers and Company Commanders, should be vulnerable, but the player should also work to keep them safe and protected. They exist to hand out powerful buffs and your opponents should be rewarded if they can maneuver things so that they can assassinate them. Smashy barbarians, like Warbosses and Chapter Masters, shouldn’t be especially vulnerable. They exist to charge forward, lead from the front, and beat face. But people got too reliant on the unintended quirks of 8th Edition’s character targeting rules and forgot that their smashy barbarian characters are supposed to be tough not immortal.
  16. I am Thor, Prince of Asgard... Fabulous secret powers were revealed to me the day I held aloft my magic hammer and said, “By the power of Grayskull! I have the power!”
  17. I found it hilarious(ly sad) that the reaction from so many people on Reddit to the Supreme Command Detachment was anger that they couldn’t field Mortarian and Magnus in an army.
  18. Work in progress, but I’ve been putting some Thor back in Thursday:
  19. Nope, nope. The entire army is ruined and you should be ashamed. But I’m a nice guy and willing to help you out, just leave them in a BattleFoam case on your porch, I’ll swing by and take them someplace they can be properly disposed of.
  20. Fæit212 is reporting a $199 USD retail price for the Indomitus box, $65 USD for the standalone rulebook, and $40 USD for the Grand a Tournament 2020 pack (missions and updated Matched Play point values). Rumors should always be taken with a grain of salt, but Fæit212 is almost always spot-on with their pricing rumors. I’m pleasantly surprised, $200 seems like a helluva deal.
  21. “Half as important” is probably over-selling the change (but it makes for a punchy blog post headline), but it definitely seems like raw body count is a lot less important than in editions prior.
  22. She has a face! 0/10, theme ruined. Entire army is trash.
  23. Slightly off topic, but for the love of Zod, why don’t people ever edit out the “Waiting to Start” nonsense from uploads of live stream reruns? This video takes ELEVEN MINUTES to get to the actual content!?
  24. Lemme run this past the hive-mind... New rulebook pdf, page 18 (emphasis added): And from page five (emphasis added: This would me that if the leaked Bladeguard Veteran storm shield rule (4++ Invulnerable and a +1 to Save characteristic) is applied to units with a 2+ Save characteristic like Custodes and Terminators... They’ll have a 1+ Armor Save and be virtually indestructible! Let’s say you’ve got a 1+ Armor Save being hit by an AP -6 weapon: If you roll a 1, an unmodified roll of 1 always fails; Save Failed. If you roll a 2 through 6, it will be modified to a 1; This is equal to the Save characteristic of the model; Save Passed. [ Laughs in Gold ]
