Painting on the sprue?

It never really worked well for me. It's difficult to assemble painted components. What I prefer is partial assembly. Attach legs and torso. Assemble arms if necessary and pin everything to a stick separately. Clean all flash and mold lines. Prime and paint on sticks. Scrape paint away from the portions where they are joined.

I'll second the above advice. Never got it to work for me.

I'll add a recommendation I found on here. Brian posted pics of hemostat clamps he bought on Amazon. I got them and they're brilliant. Pin the arms/fiddly bits, clamp to pin. Prime and paint on clamp. Easy and cheap with great results.

I agree with Ryan, never really worked for me
