Crazy thought on relics, do I have something or not? Now list noodling

Okay so I'm in the process of building an Adeptus mechanicus with guard list. I know that to get a single relic you set your warlord from the proper faction. My spark of insight is can I then use the corresponding stratagem from the other list?

Ie warlord is from guard so I take the out flank dagger,  can I then use the single CP mechanicus stratagem archeotech specialists (assuming I have the detachment for access) to take one mechanicus relic?

Stratagem says one extra, so zero plus one is one right? I don't see any mention of needing to be able to take one first... I'll be using it opposite more likely but don't have the Astra Militarum book yet. I want a mechanicus warlord trait but an Astra Militarum relic one CP could be worth the trade off...

So now I'm second guessing myself... almost want to go heavy knights...

I have a battalion pretty locked in 500 ish points Dominus, tech priest, 2 squads of five rangers (single arquebus, cuz models), 10 vanguard (for three plasma).

Then a gattling cannon and thermal cannon knight 527.

This leaves me about 1k points. I can jockey 2 more knights (7 CP total) or spend those points on guard... getting the book soon. Pipe in  with opinions 3 knights or a knight and 1k guard support I might jockey points for a brigade here for 12 CP.

I forgot my 3 CP for battle forge... 15 points to work with! Thinking this will be really mean... I have scout sentinels to keep opponents at bay, 3 infantry squads, 23 conscripts, 2 min sized scion squads to reach out and kill things, 2 heavy weapon squads with missiles, a manticor and support characters, company commander, 2 primaris, commissar, and master of ordnance to fit the points... just crazy the durability board control offensive power and CP I picked up. People should rue the day they complained about multiple knights...

So this was just the 1k points left over after the mechanicus battalion and knight. I'm going stygies VIII Dominus (warlord with necromechanic trait +1 wound when healing so two to the knight and there is a stratagem to do it again 4 wounds is no joke). I Also noticed one of the guard stratagems doesn't require key words... wow just wow. Take cover plus one to saves used during opponents shooting phase...

Well it is two knights... so just the conscripts give me one knight set of wounds... sentinels are 5 each I think, manticor is 11... 30 guardsmen and heavy weapons still to consider and scions...

Biggest thing tho is the single knight I'm keeping can "take cover" omg that stratagem is so good!
