TheBeninator
Rank and file fun at Guardian. https://ambuscadeportland.blogspot.com/p/details-schedule-ambuscade-2017.html Price = Free Models = Provided Experience = Unnecessary Looks like a pretty interesting event. Lots of different systems, lots of different historical minis, lots of alcohol, lots of fun. Playing Malfaux with Fixxer recently taught me one thing. There are a ton of cool games out there with folks who are happy to share their knowledge, which is awesome.
smashthedean
I thought this was a 9th Age tournament at first and was excited. These lazy 9th Age tournament organizers need to get their acts together!
Fixxer
This looks fun. Exposure is everything and creating events to showcase your game of choice is important. I think it'd be cool to get a run down of different available rule sets for these types of games. I have been listening to Dan Carlin's hardcore history. Just did the Celtic Holocaust and thought about how rad it would be to play a historical mini game in that era. I believe the Warhammer ancients rule set is pretty legitimate still, perhaps something to look into...

Seems like you can find rules for all the specialist games online, but this one is giving me trouble. I think something in that scale would be perfect for a historical game. I was thinking of Warmaster Ancients.

I was actually considering sending an email to Dan Carlin to see if he knows about this event. From his podcasts, it appears he has experience with mini-wargaming. He also lives in Eugene, so it is not that much of a stretch. I wouldn't want to subject him to all of the fandom and neck-beard hugs tho. Perhaps if he showed up incognito. Is that a bit too stalk'ish? Celtic Holocaust was really well done. The sort of story where you root for both teams.
