Travelling

Santa Fe and Albaquerque were pretty cool. Santa Fe more so.

I went hiking in the mountains and through old Indian cave dwelling littered with broken pottery.

Another wedding, this time a renewal of vows after 50 years by an old new Mexican couple. These folks were legit old school low rider people. Moustaches, boots, the cars, the moustaches, the way they walked, long hair. It was amazing. It took place at a church with a pit of holy so yeah.

Also definitly informed the mom and dad I was staying with that their 16 year old daughter was a gun toting drug dealer. Oops.

I got one ride from Albequerque to Las Vegas! Ex-military who instructs police on how to react to radioactive threats.

Las Vegas is interesting. I got to see the Bellagio's water show it was quite interesting. I watched three cycles. Its interesting how the choice in music makes or breaks the show.

Eric, an angry dwarf biker, and I are going to drag my uncle away this weekend at some point and either just get him out to get a steak or maybe hit the casinos and get him to sleep in a real bed. I have been here since Tuesday midday and every day he leaves Carmen's side for maybe an hour or less. However this weekend her two best girlfriend are going to be in town and we hope that their presence can calm her down enough so that she doesn't spiral out of control when he is gone.

So the exact thing that happened is they got to Las Vegas and she thought she had an ear infection. She went into coughing fits and they rushed her to the ER where she then coughed blood. She has pneumonia and the infection got in her blood stream. So sypsis set in.

Long story short though she is pulling through and doing amazing. Yesterday I saw her walk for the first time, they are starting to test to see if she has the strength to have a one way valve for oxygen so she can talk.

If you want to know more details.

Sepsis is scary stuff. Glad you and an angry dwarf biker are going to try and get your uncle some R&R. Caretaking, when you are helpless to do anything, can be absolutely exhausting. I'm glad you can be there!

For most trips, Las Vegas would be a highlight of potential weirdness. However, given what you've already seen and done this trip, it's probably just another blip on the radar.

You can say that again. There are definitly some strange folks here.

For example my Dad. He was here when I got here. It was fun to see him. First thing he says to me "Oh hey, nice to see you. So I have this D&D idea......"

Also just found and returned a dudes wallet. I was calling around based on the cards he has in his wallet to get his number and was walking towards the hotel I am staying out and this guy goes "Oh hey, I have the same wallet! Nice style choice". I look down at the ID and its him.

I'd also like to clarify that Eric isn't a short person. He looks like Gimli.

Good to hear the updates and better situation. Keep having fun! If you have the inclination to see a cirque show catch the one in new York new York (Zumanity) it is the cheapest and much more "personal" the seating is closer and there is far less of it. The con to these pros is it isn't as "family friendly", this may not be a con to you but it is what drives the pros. Sarah and I saw 3 different ones a couple of years ago and this was our favorite considering.

To be clear it is a topless cirque show. With the lighting you can barely tell. Burlesque and cabaret is the theme.

Awesome! Grats! You'll be close to a lot of cons.

Damn! Abstract algebra kicked my butt! But non-euclidean geometry was kind of mind bending and fun.  Ah, I see your plan. Never leave the college life... 🙂

My non-Euclidean geometry teacher was the absolute best. He was the nicest guy, he just wanted people to learn the material he didnt care for grades and he ALWAYS walked to school on, I swear, the exact route I ended up walking. I'd walk out of my house and he'd be walking by and we'd end up walking and talking.

So funny story from my grandma.

Some backstory my uncle Joe when he was in college flew down to Costa Rica to study orchids in the rainforest. Instead of flying back he sold his plane ticket and hitchiked back. Now he had blonde dreads, blue eyes and a huge red beard.

He said that he had no problem getting rides until he got to america.

So my grandma goes "Well I can see why. If I saw you on the side of the road I would have swerved and hit ya."

To which my aunt (uncles sister) says "Mom didnt you pick up hitchikers a while back and give them a place to stay? You said they reminded you of Joe."

Grandma: "Yeah I must have missed and felt bad so gave em a ride."
