Great Sector Mechanicus Ideas

Recommended Posts

https://twitter.com/RayDranfield

Dranfield was the lead designer on the Sector Mechanicus line, and has a ton of great tips and trivia and ideas on his Twitter there. You have to scroll down a bit past the Webway Portal posts, but he doesn't post that much, so it's still pretty accessible, despite Twitter's terrible archive system.

I need like 15 more of those kits now...

@RayDranfield if you did not deliberately design the clips for the scenery to make stairs... it's an awesome coincidence.

Great conversion work @bittenbydesign I always love seeing people take an piece of scenery and then go even further with ideas and narrative. It helps inspire me when I'm designing the next set of scenery kits.

#SectorImperialis No.7 If you're building an internal wall you may find that you have one too many pillars. A simple solution is to leave the pillar halves off 2 of the walls, spin one round and glue them together. #warhammer #scenery #killteam #warhammer40k #40k #terrain

#SectorImperials No6. The girder pattern under the floors matches the spacing of the #SectorMechanicus flooring so you can glue them together with the clips. You can also use the Mech legs, ladders and hanging cables with Imperialis floors #warhammer #scenery #killteam #40k

#SectorImperialis No5. The floors are the same size, thickness and height as the #SectorMechanicus flooring. This means you can use them in your buildings, have the internals supported by the Mech legs or use the Mech railings on the Imperialis floors #killteam #warhammer40k #40k

#SectorImperialis feature No4. If you want your floor to extend beyond the wall, for a balcony or bridge, then just remove the row of skulls from the top of the wall. I added a groove along the back to make it easy score and snap. #killteam #warhammer40k #scenery #40k #warhammer

#SectorImperialis No1. Probably the most important feature of the new kits are the pillars. Not only are they very gothic and give the buildings a chunkier/sturdier look, they also allow completely invisible joints for both straights and corners #warhammer #scenery #killteam #40k
