phyfor88
2018 TanksGiving event. $20 a person fee to cover rental of space and the rest will be returned as prizing. No fee at Geeks and Games. Feel free to spend your Money on product to support this fine establishment. Location To be announced. We are hoping for Guardian Games, but they are having staffing issues with the schedule. Geeks and games in Oregon city Oregon. Tentative date of 1 Dec 2018 10am start . Ending at around 7pm with everything cleaned up by 8pm. 100 points Mid war Eastern front, must take at least one tank formation. This will be a casual event, designed to allow everyone to get in as many games as they are comfortable playing. The rule is fun, bring what you want to play. Everyone will get to choose a table and possible an opponent for the first game. Then as games end new opponents will be found quickly so they can play another, no rush is put on finishing games. But nobody is left waiting for everybody to reach a specific time limit to end games. Ideally every player will get in at least 2 games some may get 4. Win loss is being prized for this event, although a record will be available if you wish to see the results. Please bring a table of eastern front terrain if you are able. Prizing will be based on best table provided, best sportsmanship, then random drawing.
fingolfen
Any chance of moving this forward or back a week? I'm booked on the 1st, but have the other two weekends free.
barca
Let me know when we have a firm date. If it remains on DEC, I will cancel Flames of War Learn-toPlay and Flames of War Battles scheduled for that day.

Souldier3
Phyfor88, I have a new player that I am trying to get to this event but the problem is he has been building mid war british. He does not have anything else. Can we make an exception to the eastern front list requirement or could someone supply him an eastern front army? I have GE PZ III with Some Pz IV and Marders. Also have Russian Tank lists. I am flexible on which I will loan and which I will play. Souldier3
He would prefer to play German if that works for you. Thanks Barca! Can you let me know what the list will be?
phyfor88
I also have options available for Germans any idea on what they are interested in playing?
Souldier3
Well the tank formation is mandatory for tanksgiving. Any support I'll leave up to you guys.
phyfor88
Armor formation is mandatory. It could be armored cars, as cheap as 7-10 points maybe less. Then there could be any kind of any other formations.
Souldier3
Normal armor with marder support would probably be best for this event for a new player.

Souldier3
I like list #1 with 4 marders for him. They should stick around longer than a 2 tank platoon and its a little more streamlined and a simpler list. Thanks for helping out!

barca
last call if you want to borrow some stuff... I plan on travelling light to the TANKS-giving event. For models, I will only be bringing my Soviet Tank list and the German Panzer III Tank Company I am loaning to a new player. If you want to borrow some models (or unit cards) from me, to use during the event, then let me know before noon on Friday, so I can pack them. Communicate either on this thread, or by ORDO personal message, or if you see me on Thursday at GG. Other stuff I am bringing: 3 battle mats, rulebooks, "Lessons From the Front", "More Missions", trees, buildings, extra tape measures, templates. I am also bringing 1 Churchill sprue for Souldier3 and 4 computer wargames for trade or sale -- cheap.
Souldier3
Due to family plans I won't be able to be there until 12:00 but since it's a casual format I don't think that will be an issue.

ZEKE
Mr. Nelson, Thanks again for organizing this event. Had lots of good games and enjoyed the day. You have given me some ideas for next year and hopefully I will be more in gear to run it again.
