dalmer
Hey 'hamsters, Attended a meeting today, promoters are trying to bring Death Cab for Cutie and Odesza to Civic Field in May of 2019 for an outdoor concert. I know some folks here are into the music scene. Dunno if it's for sure, but the talks have begun.
nathonicus
Sweet! Have they done big concerts at civic field before?
dalmer
I can't think of one. They're going to cover the field with a protective surface and keep the concert out of the stands, sounds like. A nice touch, especially for two bands that got their start in the 'ham.
Guest JES
Hey there! Have you heard more about this? I saw that they reserved Civic Field but can't find anything about ticket announcements...
dalmer
I know that the concert is a go... I have a meeting tomorrow about it. They were saying during the last meeting that they'll have to start pre-sale tickets soon, because they at least want to see if 10k of the seats will sell (assuming to make the event cover costs). If I hear where ticket stuff is posted I will post here. Stay safe, don
Guest JES
Ok awesome, thanks so much Don! Are you able to share what the date of the concert is?
dalmer
I want to say Saturday, May 18th. No further info from today's meeting, but I will make sure I continue to update this post as I hear more. Stay safe, don
dalmer
Ticket info just hit the newspaper for the concert. Confirmed date is 05/18. Sounds like maybe 5 total acts.
Guest JES
Thanks so much! I'm curious if you know who in town is helping to organize the event? I work for a brewery and we'd be stoked to help out with a beer garden....
dalmer
WWU and the City for the Bham end, but that's just logistics. I would think your best bet is to contact Connors & Company http://www.connorsandco.com/ Just say you've heard about the event and wanna help with the beer gardens (of which I think there are two) and they did ask us for names of local food vendors, beer suppliers, etc. at one meeting so it's not like you're calling them cold Hope this helps. I heard tickets START at like $
