pretre Posted February 20, 2019 Report Share Posted February 20, 2019 Miniature Painting Contest When & Where: March 30th, 9:30am to 2:00pm at the Angel of the winds Arena Grand Ballroom in Everett. During the board game & miniature swap meeting #10 quarterly event. Cost per entry: $5 with 3 maximum entries per artist. (please Note: each artist can only win 1 prize) this miniature as is fails, the diorama falls apart at no basing done to the wood to give it a complete scene look. Magnets would be needed. Rules Bases - Miniatures Must be on a solid base in one of six basic shapes. Circle, square, Oval, Rectangle, hexagon or octagon. Base Must be 25mm - 200mm. Bases must be painted, flocked or otherwise finished. If your miniatures are set into a piece of wood they must be on a magnet systems or otherwise locked down. Figure count - As many as you can fit. One base is the entry fee of $5 regardless of the figure count on that base. Dioramas are allowed as long as they follow all the rules. Color requirements - 3 colors or shades of colors. Ballot box - Every entry will get a plain 4x4x4 inch box for ballots to be cast. As a personal flare you can make your own box. But it must have a hole big enough to fit an oreo cookie on top. Must be 4x4x4 inches. Submission time - All miniatures must be in no later then 10:00am the morning of the event. We will allow you 1 hour more time at the cost of you losing votes. As voting starts at 10:00am. and will last to 1:00pm. Each entry will have its own Entry form as seen below. Prizes 1st Place $125 2nd Place $100 3rd Place $75 4th Place $50 5th Place $25 Rule Breakers $50 Awarded by me. Prizes must be spent at the event. $5 Per entry Until march 27th, then $10 Bumping the pot!!! How your donation will be split. 1st place. 25% 2nd Place 20% 3rd Place 15% 4th Place 10% 5th place 5% R.B. 5% House 20% Passes, Though the base is odd shaped, it was glued to a solid wood base. Judging Everybody attending the show between 10am and 1pm will get to cast their votes for best painting. Each person will be given 3 tickets. Numbered 1st-3rd. Judges will place their tickets in the box of the miniatures they like most. At 1pm we will open the boxes count all the votes and announce the winners at 2pm. I will have 3 judges coming and they will get twice the amount of points per vote. All ties will go to a tie breaker with the judges votes only. Young persons: Because we do not have enough youngsters to have a contest just for them, we will write down the age of any artist under 15 years of age on their card. Please consider the age of the artist in your voting. we will also verbally give these rules to people as they vote. Fails, this miniatures base is not one of the acceptable base types. and might be larger then the 200mm Auctions We will auction your miniatures if you so wish. 2 types of auctions are as follows Charity - Check the box on your card. No minimum price will be allowed. highest silent bid wins. All money goes to charity. Highest bidder gets the figure. I am looking at Hopelink as the charity. Silent - Check the box on your card. You will be asked to give a minimum bid price. Highest silent bidder wins. Cash must be paid on the spot, House will take 5% fee of silent auction. Bidding - To bid you must be present between 1-2pm with cash if you are to win. Phone Number will be a must. You will be given a slip for each miniature you want to bid on. fill it out and place it in the 4x4x4 inch box next to the miniature. All 3 of these miniatures are acceptable 8.5 x 11.5 inch paper for each miniature for displaying on the table Ballot box Miniature area Entry card Passes, Though it would need to be glued to the wood base, or on some great magnets. Provided the 200mm length is not broken and the inserted miniatures are on magnets this would pass. This miniature is an easy pass.
