Guest
https://firesidegatherings.com/en-us/ Hearthstone is Blizzard's digital Magic the Gathering. It's an internet based card game that designed on the freemium model and is for PC and phones. Been out for a while. Blizzard endorses local gatherings of players, in events they call Fireside Gatherings. Players gain a unique card back for their cards, other prizes, and it's a social thing with real people. Anyway, actual gatherings locally seem to be pretty scarce. Mentioning this because if you have space and want more people in your store/to hang out with, kinda a niche thing that could be taken advantage of. I think you need wi-fi to run one of these. https://firesidegatherings.com/en-us/create -Microsoft Store near the Pioneer Place Mall in downtown Portland does a weekly event from 6pm-8pm on Wednesdays. -There's a Facebook group that meets in Milwaukee at a location they refer to as The Office from 9am-4pm on Sunday 24th. https://www.facebook.com/events/422960345109496/ -And, last, there's a some group called eSports Meeting Spring that meets in Salem weekly on Thursdays from 6:30pm-10:30pm I found these with my Zip in https://firesidegatherings.com/en-us/#find-a-fireside-gathering Posted because I like this game. Guest
I inquired at the Microsoft store the other, since it's on my way home from GG. Apparently they'll supply "devices" to play Hearthstone on, or you can use your phone/laptop. They also have some sort of trivia thing that they'll be attempting and they have prizes of some sort. Guest
So I attended last night at that Microsoft store. I was the only one. I played 1 game against an employee that had never played before (who had to borrow a deck because the store account lacks cards). After our short game, I got a $25 gift card (to Microsoft) as that is apparently the prize for "one of the people" who attend on these events each Wednesday. That said, didn't "count" as a fireside gathering for blizzard, as we didn't have enough people. Next time, maybe. Next one is on the 6th of march. PS: I went to GG, walked to the microsoft store, did the above, and walked back to a still open GG.
