scottshoemaker
I say paint'em like Sons of Horus. Just to tick off them legion folk.
Sgt. Rock
"This is Chaos turned up to 11, then turned up some more, until the dials fall off and start leaking blood." I don't think I've ever seen or heard a more metal sentence than that. In fact, Chaos in general is starting to look more and more like a Judas Priest album cover gone horribly wrong. I like it. 1
Lord Hanaur
Tragic that Chaos should have fallen so far as to need super expensive "fix models" to make up for the otherwise inferior nature of their unit selections. I heard somewhere that Obliterators are now 1-3 so taking a singular one is a thing again. I did like that as i used to do it all the time. Brother Glacius
I really liked the whole deamon-engine theme, and now you can really go for it. Kind of wish I still had my chaos now. 😞
WestRider
Chaos Space Marines Focus: The Lord Discordant After Shadowspear and Abaddon, could the new Chaos release get any cooler? Yes. Yes it could. Meet the Lord Discordant. We’ll give you a few seconds to take it all in. This is the Lord Discordant – a new HQ choice for Chaos armies that combines the might of a Maulerfiend, the wisdom of a Warpsmith and the leadership of a Chaos Lord into one deadly package. This is Chaos turned up to 11, then turned up some more, until the dials fall off and start leaking blood. Some of you spotted this guy on the cover of Vigilus Ablaze, before being shot down in the comments of our Facebook page – consider yourselves vindicated! Right now, we’re sure you have some questions, and we’ve got answers… What is a Lord Discordant? Lords Discordant are Chaos Space Marines who have a sinister, arcane mastery over machinery, similar to Warpsmiths in their training and fell purpose. However, while Warpsmiths are generally found behind their mechanical charges, enacting repairs, Lords Discordant prefer to lead from the front, fighting from the backs of scuttling Daemon Engines known as Helstalkers. Bellowing profane litanies that cause nearby machines to glitch and seize, they specialise at dismantling tanks, skimmers and the like with prying mechadendrites and brutal swings of their impaler chainglaives. Lords Discordant feed off the suffering of the machines they destroy, using their captured motive force to repair their Daemon Engines and annihilate the enemy with coruscating beams of repurposed energy. How Do They Work In-game? Lords Discordant are an HQ choice for Chaos Space Marine armies. If you love Daemon Engines, this is the leader for you, enhancing the powers of Maulerfiends, Defilers or any other unit you might choose. Enacting battlefield repairs and disrupting enemy vehicles, no heretic armoured spearhead should be without one! A Lord Discordant is a deadly combatant in their own right and, while specialising in dismantling vehicles, can put those same skills to work on more organic foes. Lords Discordant also pack some pretty impressive firepower with your choice of autocannon or baleflamer. When Can I Get One? Patience, oh loyal servant of Chaos! The Lord Discordant is but one of the incredible new releases on the way for Chaos Space Marines and will be available to pre-order over the next few weeks. If you’re itching to start your horde of Daemon Engines early, well, you’re in luck! The Lord Discordant synergises amazingly with the Chaos force found in Shadowspear, which is available to pre-order now. And, if you’re looking to really unleash some carnage, grab yourself a Lord of Skulls – you haven’t seen destruction until you’ve seen one supercharged by a Lord Discordant… 2
WestRider
I've been wanting Chaos Lords on Daemon Engine mounts for ages, and now that they've arrived, they do not disappoint! While I'm absolutely getting at least one of this kit, I also plan on looking into modifying my JuggerLords to Count As these and not be Index-dependent, and converting more from MaulerFiends or whatever. Now we just need a flying one to go along with Helldrakes! 1

I still think GW would be really smart to re-release Archaeon and the Mighty Skullcrusher kits with just a small upgrade sprue to make them 40k friendly (they need a spot for a backpack and some pistol options...that's really it). But that's GW denying their own sales, once again.

NO only because I will need to get an equal number to my bloodcrushers and that will be spendy.

It would be so very simple to include a very basic upgrade sprue with CSM backpack, chainsword arm, chain axe arm, and Bolt Pistol arm. That's all that you'd need to make the Mighty Skullcrushers into a 40k kit.

A bit difficult to read but it's there. Well, to be specific they don't gain "Black Crusaders" bonuses but they might still have a Legion.

WestRider
If they don't gain the Trait, but still have the Keyword for Stratagems, Buffs, etc., that actually seems fitting and pretty reasonable to me.
