WestRider
I guess the T'au liked the look of the Tomb Stalker/Sentinel 😉
Guest
Well, the guy that made it calls it a Tau Moray Eel. More info here: http://www.40konline.com/index.php?topic=102078.0 I don't think it turned out, which is why I posted it here, but it's definitely creative and with a more tries, could become something really cool. WestRider
It just kind of reminded me of how the Tomb Stalker/Sentinel can be converted from a bunch of Wraiths stuck together end to end, but with a Piranha instead.
Ish
But there's no points of articulation... That thing is permanently flying around looking like an integral symbol: ∫

That would be kind of hilarious, tho. 2

What the actual [big bad swear word] is wrong with people? I wouldn't be surprised if he put yellow armbands on the dead marines underneath its feet.
Ish
I mean, I usually don’t mind when people use elements of the National Socialist aesthetic in gaming... I mean, let’s face it, they were unimaginably evil but they certainly had style. Games Workshop themselves has invoked elements of the Third Reich in their game’s imagery, everything from the sculpts for miniatures (like the original Ork Stormboyz or the Armageddon Steel Legion) to some of the artwork in the books (like the many pictures of massed Astartes gatherings that are homages to Triumph of the Will and other propaganda films). And GW is hardly alone in using National Socialist imagery as a visual shorthand for “the baddies.” It’s obvious to anyone and everyone that Lucasfilm ripped off the National Socialists lock, stock, and Hugo Boss designed barrel when creating the look of the Galatic Empire in Star Wars. I’m sure you can all come up with dozens of other examples... But that kind of thing is usually done with either a more subtly or it’s done in a way that removes it from the historical context and/or makes it a clear satire. But there’s a world of difference between something like Kromlech selling Ork dressed like a Waffen-SS officer and just straight up using the NSDAP flag as a chapter banner. (Also, people playing actual WWII games or alternate history “Weird War II” games are totally allowed to use Nazi iconography on their minis without judgement.)

Ish
I do kinda miss that bizarre shade of orange-red that they used to use on everything between 1988 and 1995

Ish
Today’s Citadel is probably a lot more fiscally sound, market savvy, and just generally more consistent... But dammit, there was a certain charm to the “nerdy British metal-heads who built a business in mum’s shed” ethos of the old days. I kinda miss the days when Warhammer looked more like the airbrushed mural on the side of some dude’s van.

blackvigil
When someone gave them some painting tips, they replied with, "I’m used to not shading miniatures since I usually let the natural light take care of that." And here I am, like a jackass, shading and highlighting models, when the natural light will do that for me. What a fool I've been! 2
