Torg
After talking to several folks last year about Epic… everyone who the topic came up with said they loved the game - and would enjoy playing it again. I myself like the game - I have several forces - and the rules (most current GW release as well as older versions). Anyhow, looking to the new year I am wondering whom would be interested in trying to set down a time line to get some games of EPIC. Maybe as simple as a one off game meet up - or a day long mini- learn/play day or even a short "league" … maybe as part of a Specialist Games event at something like OFCC …friday night or something like that. Who knows … what sounds good? Time line… weeks, or months from now?… I am thinking spring myself - but it would be ok to be later or sooner perhaps? I know I would like to play some Epic this year - I would like to try out forces and see if I would want to try and hunt down more pieces online or ebay. I realize that GW is working on specialist games - but that could take awhile to get to Epic… and they could screw it up lol. If your interested in playing some Epic - what kinda timeline is good?… do you have forces? etc. I have the basic makings of Marines, Orks and Eldar armies… titans, garments and flyers. I have some terrain and other things to play. I can meet up at game night - or my place or anywhere else depending on dates and times. -d
ChaosGerbil
I kept all my old Epic: Marines, Chaos, IG, Eldar. I haven't played for about two decades, but I am game. I also have about 6 Warlord titans from Adeptus Titanicus too. That was my first GW game and one of the most balanced systems they ever put out.
Brother Glacius
I have a decent sized ork army. I haven't played in quite some time an am not sure what the new LRB rules are.
KIRBY
Epic?!? HELL YES! I have a good size Muhreen army that is ready to take the table. I am free whenever. The LRB is pretty rad.
Last_Bullet
Where would these potential games of Epic be played?
Torg
LRB?? I don't know... --- I would be able to play just about anywhere - like in the OP… (wOw or my garage (hubbard))… or anywhere. I plan to work on building an army list from what I have for all 3 forces - and go from there. In a month I would like to have a go-to box containing all that I need to play - or go somewhere and play. -d
Rijel
I've been eyeing Epic minis, but haven't taken the plunge yet. I'm interested in learning to play, and maybe borrowing forces for that purpose.
generalripphook
How exactly do you get the rules for epic?
Torg
LRB - last released rule book? Yes? - sometimes it takes me a bit lol. - rules used to be free pdf online - (free from GW). But I've not seen them in a long time online anywhere. But there is also"net epic" which is a living rule book of sorts for epic. Search for net epic online and your sure to find them. I'll try to hunt down some links online and post them up. As far as translation from the last release rules to net epic - I can't say as I've not played them. -d
andozane
LRB = Living Rule Book Let me go find a link
andozane
This site hosts the most up to date epic rules that are generally accepted. http://www.net-armageddon.org/
Torg
LRB = Living Rule Book Let me go find a link Ok - well I was wrong lol. - but net epic - yes that's what I was thinking lol
Torg
OK - I have some of those rules printed out from that site… I just forgot where I got them lol. Now - for those whom know this (because I am not quite clear on it) the rules from the LRB (Living Rule Book) are the same as the last GW printed rules - just clarified and with better FAQ's? Also - I see additional material for armies that the last set of rules didn't get to. - Is that the gist of the way things stand? I will start reviewing my rulebook - but I want to be sure what I read is relevant in at least the basic principles and concepts. -d
Torg
Once rules sets are agreed to - then we can get a consensus on who/where / when to play. As I said I am pretty open and ready to go as far as having the tools needed to play (aside from a good grasp of the rules). What is the typical point level that folks play? 2000 / 2500 or 3000? KIRBY
NetEA is the best -- as it worked out all the typos and errata that GeeDub is notorious for. The army lists are much more flavorful. As far as point size, I have 4000 points and it all fits in 1 one-level tackle box. Unlike the Epic40K days were you needed a metric ton of minis, the new rules are much more forgiving on your time and pocketbook.
Andrewgeddon
If anyone is doing Epic on the north side of the River (Vancouver / Salmon Creek), I might be interested in giving it a shot, or at least observing a game. I've got a handful of Ork minis, have always thought the game looked like fun.

If I am familiar with the GW rules… will the NetEA rules be a huge leap? It sounds like just a clean up… true or not? I know we talked about this in the past Kirby - but my may actually have to make it to play ya some games - I would really like to get the basics under my belt. I will work up some lists at 4000pts for the armies I have. And make sure they are ready to go soon. -d
KIRBY
NetEA is Epic Armageddon with fleshed out army lists and cleaned-up rules. Perfecto. Let's get our game on, baby!
Brother Glacius
Maybe start with smaller lists to learn the rules again? I'm down for this. My orks are ready, if unpainted. :(
Torg
I'm going to play with army builder… (if the data is still valid for netEA) and get a few lists going. How many folks use titans in their lists? I can do the Eldar Titan clan :)… I also have gargants for the orks ( all sizes) and for the marines I have war hounds and several of the larger options as well :). -d
andozane
IIRC last time I talked with Kirby it seemed a good idea to make lists with and without Titans. When he and I played, he whooped me with his marines, while my super heavy IG list was dominating the battle part, he got the objectives and won the game :)
Torg
cool - well - I have one plano tackle box … that has two armies in it (Orks and Marines) and it would be easy enough to make multiple lists with and without. I will keep that in mind. I also have flyers for each army I have as well. -d
Brother Glacius
I may or may not have marine stuff that I could possibly sell...I'll have to check. I haven't really hit that part of my stash yet.
Torg
I definitely have more than I can use as far as marine stuff goes - (I had 3 of the older box sets at one point.) After I go through my lists - I will set aside what I don't need - for anyone interested in getting into them for EPIC. -d
Brother Glacius
Been reading the rules for netEpic. Seems pretty straightforward. Blast markers are a must. I'll have to go through and see if I have them. I do know that I have similar token markers I got for Dystopian Wars...those should work as well. :) Got them from Litko?
