Late Roman Cataphracts Unit Complete! 17-02-2026

Painting time has been slim on the ground of late and varnishing conditions much less so! It's actually rained for more "40 days and 40 nights!". ) One could not make it up. I did manage to get the back rank of my Late Roman Cataphracts finished which, given that I have to spray the last few layers of varnish on, the indifferent rainy conditions, along with other stuff was quite a satisfying achievement. I'm usually much more prolific, but hey ho.....

Into the Valley of Death Rode the Clibanarii!

I was excited to be able to continue last weeks game, the face off between the forces of Emperor Galerius Middle Imperial romans and Shah Narseh Sassanid force; a race to capture the prize of the Roman baggage train and a chance to deprive the Roman army of much needed supplies, thus preventing any further Roman incursion into Persia towards Ctesiphon.

Just my blog... I update it typically a few times a month. Sometimes more - sometimes less hobby time depending.

Typical topics ... Painting - hobby - Warhammer 40k (Eldar and Eldar Titans mostly) , Bloodbowl (goblins mostly), Dark-Age (Brood, CORE and more), Infinity (currently USAriadna mostly), terrain stuff (MDF buildings, resin stuff ... and scratch built as well) - and random crud (Yurt stuff).

Alright, I'll admit, my last attempt at a blog didn't go so well. I blame the material; interesting, but much too heavy to keep up with, especially when fighting the stress and anxiety of a global pandemic. So I decided to try again, with something more light hearted. This is my new hobby blog, The Twitchy Painter. It's just for general minis gaming & modelling. I'm going to be posting more often on this one; it'll be a lot easier to throw up a blurb with a WIP on a project or something than having to write an intelligent mini-thesis on a difficult subject. Also, I intend to add battle reports at some point, so stay tuned for that.

I've started my very first blog covering my hobby progress.
