This Core Set invites you to enter a completely new era of infantry battles in the Star Wars galaxy, pitting the overwhelming Separatist droid forces against the Republic’s crack armies of clone troopers and Jedi Knights. With the thirty-nine unpainted, easily assembled miniatures you find here, you can begin building and painting a unique army of the Clone Wars’ most iconic heroes, villains, troopers, and vehicles. As you do, you’ll develop new strategies and deploy new tactics tailored to each of these faction’s unique capabilities.   

In addition to introducing the Galactic Republic and Separatist Alliance to the game as new factions, this Core Set contains all the cards, tools and tokens you need to begin staging your own Star Wars battles right away, making this the perfect starting point for building your Star Wars: Legion collection. Importantly, the Clone Wars Core Set is not a new edition of the game, and you don't need the original Core Set to start playing. The Clone Wars Core Set is fully compatible with all previous Star Wars: Legion products, inviting you to play out whatever battles you can imagine across the saga.

Clones and Clankers

Star Wars: Legion puts you in command of your own army of units straight out of the Star Wars saga, engaging your opponent in furious firefights across a war-torn galaxy. During a game, you will strategically maneuver your troops through bombed-out warzones, unleash barrages of blaster fire, and engage in lethal lightsaber duels in a desperate struggle to determine the fate of the galaxy.   

Now, with the Clone Wars Core Set, you can step into a completely new era, taking command of the iconic units and heroes of the Clone Wars. From the corps units that form the backbone of your army to the heroes and villains on the ground commanding them, every unit in your army has their role to play and—whether you side with the Galactic Republic or the Separatist Alliance—the eight units found here provide a foundation for your armies.

Those who choose to spread chaos, tyranny, and fear as the Separatist Alliance can wield a massive droid military. With an overwhelming number of B1 Battle Droids at your command, you can trample over any who stand in your path and—if B1 Battle Droids alone aren’t enough to secure victory—you can always send in a unit of Droidekas to provide the firepower necessary to decimate any opponents that remain standing.

To begin building your Separatist armies, you’ll find eighteen unpainted, finely detailed B1 Battle Droid miniatures, enough for two corps units. Ready to support them on the battlefield are four Droideka miniatures representing these destructive droids in both their standard and wheel mode forms.

Countering the Separatist threat to peace and democracy are the Republic’s clone troopers. Trained as soldiers from their conception and deeply loyal to the cause of the Republic, Phase I Clone Troopers join their Jedi generals in the effort to preserve peace in the galaxy. As skilled as they are in battle, though, Clone Troopers alone can’t hope to stand against the crushing weight of the Separatist’s battle droids. Thankfully, a BARC speeder can help them adapt to the environment on many planets and provide a welcome source of speed.

Within the Clone Wars Core Set, you’ll find fourteen Phase I Clone Trooper miniatures that can be used as the first two corps units in your own Grand Army of the Republic. Joining these troops is a beautifully sculpted BARC Speeder miniature featuring several customization options. This miniature can be assembled with or without its sidecar and, if you decide to add this feature, you’ll unlock even more customization options, with three distinct weapon options for the gunner.

While the Battle Droids and Clone Troopers you find here mainly saw action during the Clone Wars, this does not mean they’re limited to fighting one another in Star Wars: Legion. Once you’ve built your clone or droid army, you’re free to deploy it against the forces of the Galactic Empire or the Rebel Alliance and play out any Star Wars ground battle you’d like!

A More Civilized Age

Just as essential to your army are the commanders who issue orders to your troopers. Fittingly, the Galactic Republic and Separatist Alliance enter Star Wars: Legion with two of the most recognizable leaders in the galaxy leading their troops into battle. The legendary Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi joins the dastardly cyborg General Grievous as their army’s commanders, contributing both their combat prowess and their leadership skills to your battle plan.

With the Force as his ally, Obi-Wan Kenobi charges into battle. As you might expect, Kenobi is deadly in melee combat with his lightsaber. But his mastery of the Soresu form of combat also gives him a superior defense, allowing him to easily deflect incoming blaster bolts. To represent Kenobi on the battlefield, the Clone Wars Core Set contains one finely detailed Obi-Wan Kenobi miniature in his ready stance, awaiting the attacks of any who would threaten the Republic.

As skilled as he is, Kenobi may have met his match in General Grievous. Proudly wielding the trophy lightsabers he has collected from the Jedi he has defeated in battle, Grievous is a particularly dangerous opponent, his agility making him equally adept at avoiding damage as he is at doling it out. Within this Core Set, you’ll find one beautifully detailed General Grievous miniature that can be assembled in three different ways: with two of his trophy lightsabers and a cloak; carrying a single lightsaber and a DT-57 “Annihilator” blaster pistol while shrouded in his cloak; or with all four trophy lightsabers at the ready.

Clearly capable of causing massive damage on their own, these commanders’ influence reaches far beyond the enemies they engage in combat. They also have the vital job of issuing orders to those under their command and both have their own style of leadership. Through the three signature command cards that you’ll find for each of them, Obi-Wan Kenobi and General Grievous can exert their own influence on a battle, granting themselves and their units special abilities and setting the tone for your army’s maneuvers.

On top of these command cards, you’ll also find two copies each of the basic Ambush,   Push,   Assault,  and Standing Orders  command cards updated to feature Clone Wars artwork, allowing both players to round out their command hands. Beyond Standard Issue

While armies of Battle Droids built in droid foundries and Clone Troopers created from the same genetic template may sound strictly uniform, there are plenty of opportunities for you to build a unique army. On top of choosing the troops and vehicles that round out your armies, the Clone Wars Core Set gives you the ability to tweak your individual units with a suite of forty upgrade cards. Whether you’re looking for a way to increase a unit’s firepower or to improve your lines of communication, you’ll find a mix of new and reprinted upgrade cards to build an army uniquely your own.

Once you’ve outfitted your troops for combat, you’ll need several tools to successfully move them across the battlefield, launch attacks, and secure your objectives. Fortunately, not only does the Clone Wars Core Set contain everything you need to begin building your Republic and Separatist armies, it also includes the tools necessary to carry out every aspect of your Star Wars: Legion battles.

Twelve battle cards and eight barricades help you define your battlefield and, once the battle begins, you’ll find the movement tools, four-part range ruler, and attack and defense dice you need to make moving and attacking with your troops fast and organic. Servants of Strife Squadron Pack

The corporate entities that form the bulk of the Separatist Alliance have untold resources at their disposal. As the Clone Wars escalate, then, it is only natural that they throw this weight into developing advanced starfighter technology that can help them put the Republic on the defensive. The result of this research is a unique blend of cheap but deadly droid starfighters and heavily armed ships controlled by "more traditional" organic pilots.

Both of these design philosophies are represented in the Servants of Strife Squadron Pack. Within this expansion, you’ll find both a heavily armed Belbullab-22 starfighter and two Vulture-class droid fighters (painted in General Grievous's colors) to begin building your Separatist Alliance squadrons. Accompanying these ships is a full suite of 48 upgrade cards that reflect the Separatists’ emphasis on groups of networked droid fighters working as one. For example, adding a Tactical Relay upgrade such as Kraken to your squadron gives your droids even more power to make use of their calculate tokens. This massive array of upgrade cards, including reprints of many common neutral upgrade cards, also means that Servants of Strife can be combined with the X-Wing Core Set to make the perfect start, especially if you're just getting into the game and want to start flying with the Separatists.

Sith Infiltrator Expansion

The Sith operate in the shadows. As they unfold their dark machinations across the galaxy, they need a ship that matches their nefarious purposes. Casting a menacing shadow as it cuts across the skies, the Sith Infiltrator is the perfect choice to carry the agents of Darth Sidious on their dark missions across the galaxy.

With the Sith Infiltrator Expansion Pack, you can use the experimental cloaking device, devastating firepower, and advanced systems of one of these ships to deliver vicious surgical strikes before vanishing into the void. In addition to the finely detailed and fully painted Sith Infiltrator miniature, you’ll find a collection of five ship cards, including Darth Maul himself, twenty upgrade cards that help you fully utilize the ship’s systems, and all the tokens and maneuver dials you need to launch your own secret missions.

Vulture-class Droid Fighter Expansion

The Separatist Navy may contain many capable organic pilots, but the vast majority is made up of Vulture-class droid fighters. These starfighters form the backbone of the Separatist forces and are emblematic of its strategy: weak in isolation, but overwhelming in numbers. A sufficiently vast swarm of networked attackers form a cunning, sinister intelligence that can defeat even wise and powerful Jedi pilots.

The Vulture-class Droid Fighter Expansion Pack contains everything you need to begin building your own squadron of linked droid starfighters—most importantly, a beautifully pre-painted Vulture-class droid fighter miniature. Each of the five droid pilots included in this pack can contribute to your Separatist swarm in their own way, but they become even more deadly when using their careful calculations to launch Energy-Shell Charges at enemy ships.

Guardians of the Republic Squadron Pack

Leading the fight against the Separatist war machine are none other than the Jedi Knights. They enter the fight at the controls of the Delta-7 Aethersprite, a starfighter that allows them to use their Force-enhanced reflexes to the fullest. Behind them, clone pilots take to the skies in V-19 Torrents, covering their Jedi Generals with coordinated fire, tight formation flying, and salvos of missiles.

With the Jedi taking the lead, the Guardians of the Republic Squadron Pack gives you the chance to further explore the potential of the Force in your X-Wing squadrons. In addition to  one Delta-7 Aethersprite (painted in Obi-Wan Kenobi's colors) and two V-19 Torrent Starfighter miniatures, this expansion contains new Force upgrade cards that unlock even more potential in your Force-sensitive pilots. For example, they could exhibit Brilliant Evasion to escape a seemingly impossible situation unscathed. And of course, like Servants of Strife, the Guardians of the Republic Squadron Pack makes the perfect introduction to the game with a wealth of upgrade cards, including reprints of many common neutral upgrade cards. ARC-170 Starfighter Expansion 

Starfighters piloted by powerful Jedi are certainly a boon to the Republic, but the lightly armed Delta-7 Aethersprite is still a delicate starfighter that can’t handle the brunt of enemy fire. The ARC-170 starfighter, on the other hand, can smash through foes that might repel the Republic’s more lightly armed ships. Equipped with torpedoes and a rear gunner, even the most intelligent Separatist droids will find it difficult to approach this intimidating craft.

With the ARC-170 Starfighter Expansion Pack, you can bring a single ARC-170 starfighter to your X-Wing battles. Primed for battle, clone pilots like "Sinker" are ready to do whatever it takes to support their squadron, whether that means defending the flanks of a formation or giving support to a Jedi General.

Delta-7 Aethersprite Expansion

Jedi Knights travel far across the galaxy in their mission to uphold justice. Rather than cross the gulfs between the stars and their destination in any ship, they choose one specifically designed to augment their considerable abilities. Equipped with an astromech for navigation, the Delta-7 Aethersprite is lightly armed but highly maneuverable, its fine-tuned controls allowing a Force-sensitive pilot to fly it with unmatched precision.

With five ship cards—including four unique pilots—the Delta-7 Aethersprite Expansion Pack adds even more Jedi for you to include in your Galactic Republic squadrons, including the legendary Anakin Skywalker. Though the Delta-7 is specifically designed to work with its pilot’s enhanced reflexes, any Jedi would still welcome the aid of the Calibrated Laser Targeting modification to add even more damage potential to their primary attacks. Furthermore, the miniature included in this expansion features an alternate paint scheme to the ships included in the Guardians of the Republic Squadron Pack, here evoking the starfighter flown by none other than Anakin Skywalker.

Upgraded Controls

When these expansion are released in the first quarter of 2019, the Galactic Republic and Separatist Alliance will enter X-Wing as distinct factions with their own options for building your own unique squadrons. You can further indicate the uniqueness of your squadron with the Galactic Republic Maneuver Dial Upgrade Kit and the Separatist Alliance Maneuver Dial Upgrade Kit.

During every game of X-Wing, you will secretly select the maneuvers for your ships on cardboard maneuver dials. In each of these maneuver dial upgrade kits, you’ll find three plastic protectors that enclose these maneuver dials in a secure housing, enhancing the aesthetics of your squadron and declaring your allegiance to the Republic or your independence from it. Not only does every dial clearly indicate the faction of your choice, they also include a space on the back to insert one of the dial ID tokens included in these expansions. Each dial ID token displays the silhouette of the corresponding ship, making it even easier to differentiate between your ships.

Z-95-AF4 Headhunter Expansion

Widely produced across the galaxy, the reliable, easy-to-acquire Z-95-AF4 Headhunter has become integral to numerous criminal cartel fleets—from large operations like Black Sun to small-time raiders like the Binayre Pirates. When outfitted with missiles and other illicit technologies, a single Z-95-AF4 can be a danger, but a swarm can be devastating to anyone unprepared to face it.

Now, you have the chance to continue growing your Scum and Villainy squadrons. The Z-95-AF4 Headhunter Expansion Pack includes everything you need to add one Z-95-AF4 Headhunter ship to your squadron, including a miniature with a stunning new paint scheme, four ship cards, five upgrade cards, and a handful of tokens. All the ship and upgrade cards included in this expansion pack are also included in the Scum and Villainy Conversion Kit!

TIE/sk Striker Expansion

Screaming through the atmosphere on nimble ailerons, the TIE/sk striker is a unique starfighter designed to excel at both air and space assaults. Its atmospheric capabilities give it unique and flexible movement patterns that can surprise even veteran opponents, as its heavy firepower lets it wear down nearly any foe.

With the TIE/sk Striker Expansion Pack, you have a new option for rounding out your Imperial squadrons. In addition to the fully assembled, pre-painted TIE/sk striker miniature, five pilots stand ready to swoop into battle and protect the Empire, while five upgrade cards give you the chance to further customize your squadron. In addition to this expansion pack, the ship and upgrade cards in this expansion can also be found in the Galactic Empire Conversion Kit.
