    TO question

I would think that a 15 day minimum release time frame for updated army books is reasonable.Same day is stupid... You could always just start your event gathering time at 9:59 of the day, that way you are fine as the store cant release the new product until 10:00 am

That’s one thing I totally forgot was the 10am product launch deal. Funny thing is my event starts at 9:30am technically lol. So you’d be right about the legal aspect of a Codex with that alone.

Right. The converted libby is all primered. Again I used Vallejo German Red-Brown acrylic, thinned 3:1 with Flow-Aid and ran it through the airbrush. I completely covered the model as the whole thing needed a primer base. I didn't preprime with any enamel black or white this time. I'll get all the airbrushing complete before I assemble the body halves.

    History of the Imperium

From today's Regimental Standard, I felt this needed to be shared: Attention Guardsman! The Imperium, and indeed the Astra Militarum, has a long, grand history, an unbroken line of memory from the distant days of Terra to the modern era. While the study of history beyond great Imperial battles and the names of Imperial saints can, for simpler minds, raise heretical questions, we here at the Regimental Standard are committed to keeping you informed. Today, we look at the older predecessors of the Leman Russ in the first of our exciting History of the Imperium series. We’ve enlisted Tech-Priest Kappa-Nu AX77446 to share some of the Adeptus Mechanicus’ valuable insights into the history of tank warfare. Kappa-Nu AX77446: Greetings, Guardsmen. While many of you will never know the joys of replacing one’s body with an invulnerable augmetic shell, some of you may get to experience the next best thing – serving worshipfully in the belly of one of the Omnissiah’s war machines. For your edification, we have recovered records of three popular vehicles preceding the modern day Leman Russ, plucked from Terra’s history: The Tyger The Tyger tank was first seen in the so-called “Two World War”. This conflict seems to have been notable for only featuring two planets – Terra and Venus – making it a relatively small skirmish. Like the MULE used by the Adeptus Mechanicus in days of yore, the Tyger is probably named after an animal of Old Earth, in this case, large, nine-legged insectoids from the Yndonesian Bloc, bred as beasts of war. One early tank commander, Wilhelm Swordsworth, allegedly wrote war poetry about the prowess of this vehicle, but alas only fragments remain. The Tyger was apparently a large battle tank for its time, but is several measures smaller than a Baneblade, indicating the primitive nature of early Terran technology. The T54 While we do not know much about the T54 tank (certain records have been suppressed by the Fabricator-General for unknown reasons), we know that it was relatively rare, with only around 100,000 units manufactured. Judging by the small size of the main armament, Fabricator-adepts believe that this vehicle probably used primitive energy-projection technology akin to the lascannon, designed to support larger vehicles. As for what T54 stands for, the answer is obvious! T54 was clearly an adept of the Mechanicum in the early days of Mars, and discovered the STC for this vehicle, much as Arkhan Land (binharic praise upon his name) discovered the STCs for the Land Raider and Land Speeder. The Sherman While the Sherman superficially resembles Imperial designs, it has several disadvantages compared to the Leman Russ. Sloped plating is likely to deflect small arms munitions into nearby soldiers while proving ineffective at dispersing las-fire. Attacking the enemy with a cavalry sabre from the turret hatch would be all but impossible due to its awkward position, even if the crew drove the officer very close. Similarly, field simulations suggest that the treads would quickly become clogged after running over even a smallish squad of Aeldari Guardians. As you can see, Guardsmen, the incorruptible form of the battle tank has been well in place for millennia – you can thank the tireless efforts of we servants of the Adeptus Mechanicus for our labours in improving the issues of size, armament and close combat efficacy, and for our ministrations and benedictions, which ensure that the machine spirits of modern tanks remain working even in the worst conditions*. Thank you, Tech-Priest! Don’t miss next week’s instalment in our History of the Imperium, where we look at the long-distant past of the Space Marine Legions.** Thought for the Day: ‘Knowledge is Power; Power Corrupts.’ *The few historical records we have show that pre-Imperial tanks were often stopped from working by such minor trifles as travelling through mud, crossing barbed wire, enemy fire, loss of crew and near-total destruction, none of which will stop a Leman Russ from continuing to devastate Mankind’s foes. **Note: This article, the “Histories of the Imperium” series and all writers involved have been terminated due to unforeseen circumstances (for further information see Inquisition Case Logs Ref: RegStan//hereticus//beta//historius_traitoris)

    TO question

There may not be a lot of gotchas for folks who read all that, but not everyone reads the leaks. It is not unreasonable to ask that there is a cutoff for codexes. Most events go in the 2 weeks to months range.

Rate the Last Movie You Saw

Life (2.75/5) Near earth orbit sifi/thriller/horror. Well budgeted and acted with good effects and actors we like. I think someone saw this in the theatre and reviewed it similarly. Being the nerd I am and associated with the 40k universe where xenos are regarded properly (kill it with fire!!!!), the mistakes made by the crew to drive the story were distracting. By the end of the film I was rooting for the creature :) If deadpool were aboard it would have been better ;)

I'd challenge them to how they are writing a legal list with a codex they have had less than a day... and what store is selling them the full dex at midnight... educational use of copies wouldn't apply here so prove a legal codex is being used... Said with as much snark as possible

Yup, it's pricey. To be fair though most companies models are in the the $5+ range for basic guys, without the quality. I've found success building Primaris though, getting starter type units has been fairly priced. Too bad we don't know anyone who specializes in used minis pretre

Here we go!! Just a few “tid-bits” for the tourney! •We will be using the ITC missions 1, 3, and 5 for the Pioneer Open •The points will be broken down as follows: -Normal Win/Loss points per ITC missions -Normal Secondary/Tertiary points per ITC missions -Sportsmanship will be a 1-5 score -Army Composition will be a 1-10 score -Paint will be a 1-10 per TO for Best Overall •NO FORGEWORLD •Battle-forged army only •FAQ from GW will be used •Best Painted AWARD will be a player vote •Power Level (100) is being used instead of the 2,000 point system. There is still more being worked out such as lunch possibly being provided (or purchased), a raffle being done and fun donations for command points system. We have spots for 24 players since this year will be played in the store (looking into a larger area for next year already) and are taking sign-ups as we speak! You can either PayPal myself (anthony.hammerschmith@gmail.com) or come into the store and pay (recommended) the $15 registration fee!! Again, the date for this is October 28th from 9am-hopefully 6pm. I will be posting this to all of the gaming boards I am part of but please feel free to share amongst your groups as well! Hope to see you all there and stay tuned for more information to come in the next week!! Your Warmaster, Anthony

    In need of Custom Transfers

So I've been trying to get some custom transfers for my SM army. I'd do it myself but I cannot print my own. My buddy that used to do them is long gone it seems thus I must reach out to my fellows here. I am happy to reimburse anyone who can do a run of transfers for me. Payment can be in bits or cash. I've got a fair range of Imperial Guard bits and some Space Marine.

    Spooky Wargames 10/28

Anyone down for some "spooky wargames"? I dont really know how to make any game Halloween themed, unless we could somehow get some Undead players to show up? Or perhaps.... Secure the (candy stash) objective? Some random zombie hordes ambling around the battlefield walking in random directions? A monster mash?

    TO question

No way. 1. The player playing it will be way slower trying to get his stuff right and all those new strategems straight in his head as to when they have to be declared and so on. I just experiences this at a tournament on Sunday. It could screw the opponent out of valuable time they need. It could allow the inexperienced Eldar player to do things out of order, legitimately on accident but still, its not like his opponent is equipped to help him keep it straight. So its kind of unfair in that way as well. 2. People who dont play the army will not have probably purchased the codex or really know what to expect. People need time to assimilate stuff. I think its fair to give them that time before facing it.

Looks like someone skipped leg day ;) Some ideas here from someone else working on one. For an easier-to-find size comparison, 4" tall and barely fits on a 60mm base would be just a tiny bit taller than a Redemptor, and roughly as bulky.

    Hacking Program of the Day

It also has the great ability to do things like target remotes that have repeaters. FO bots, like Pathfinders and Stemplers, are great targets for this one, as are the little 8 point repeater bots everyone has access to. It's a good way to weaken an opponent's repeater net (just watch out for killer hackers!

I'll order some. Have to stop by Tammie's Hobby's & get a drill too. I was gonna do hands with weapons attached and arms as all separate pieces because I hate myself, apparently. :) It gives me something to do until Wave 2 ships, at least.
