40K Book Play vs ITC Play

ITC is a mix of WAAC players and those that just want to play whatever the local group is playing. Not sure what the ratio is. You and I just want to play. I play ITC when I'm at GG because the league plays ITC. But I don't really enjoy the ITC missions and certainly dislike playing against the WAAC players - it's certainly not all of them, might not even be most of them. GG has a fun group, but there's definitely a handful that need to win or otherwise want to bring a list/attitude that just isn't fun to play against. But I still come to GG and play, from time to time.

Did you keep the packaging from these models? Some people have said there is a small printed I'd code on each box which can be used to identify them.

I've been thinking a lot about how unbalanced the standard tactic card rules are for Necromunda. I've talked to Ninefinger a lot about this. The problem is that there is a HUGE disparity in power between the best cards (i.e. "...click") and the worst cards ("Frag Trap"). As a result, players tend to over-rely on the most powerful cards in any scenario that allows them to choose their starting hand. In my opinion this is bad for the game. Player strategies become repetitive, and battles start feeling too samey. This problem is further compounded by gangs like Delaque, who have a handful of House-specific cards that are arguably overpowered. Ninefinger and I wanted to make it so that players weren't using the same cards every single battle, but we also wanted to give players access to enough cards to build a winning strategy. As a result, Ninefinger and I developed the following rules, and we're gonna try them out in the Deathcap Junction campaign. House Rules about Tactics Cards: Every player will need a set of 12 tactics cards. Players will be allowed to change out two tactics cards per week (starting the second week) as their strategies evolve throughout the course of the campaign. If the scenario says there is a random draw of cards, then players will simply draw the proscribed number of cards at random. (No rules change here.) However, if the scenario says that players can choose a number of cards, then the player will draw TWICE that number. The player will then discard unwanted cards until they are left with only the proscribed number of cards in their hand. For example, if a scenario says to choose three cards, the player will draw six cards, and they will choose three cards from that pool of six to comprise their hand for the duration of the battle. Feel free to let me know if you have any thoughts about these rules. I look forward to starting our campaign tomorrow.

    Battlescribe Question

Looks like I'd just needed to update my files, which it did when I logged in this time. I see it now and it's working fine! Thanks for the help (PC version, BTW).

    RIP: Rutger Hauer

Never knew this guy's name until this thread, but he's in a lot of films I've enjoyed. And I found some new ones to go watch. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rutger_Hauer

    I won't be in for a while...

Hey guys. I wasn't sure if I should post this here. But y'all are my friends, and I thought you should know. If I make it in for game nights, it'll be pretty sporadic for the foreseeable future. Not just because of football season. My partner, Alicia, was diagnosed with breast cancer yesterday. It's still early enough that she's got a really good chance. This thing is beatable, and by god, we're going to beat it. That said, I will be working double time as a full time student and taking care of her. I don't have a whole lot else to say. I just wanted to let you guys know. Like I said, you're all my friends, and I wanted to let you know why I won't be around much anymore. I won't be gone forever, and I'll still sneak in now and then when I have time, at least to say hi. But my priorities in life have very suddenly shifted very drastically, and playing silly bugger with toy soldiers really is no longer all that important. Have fun gang. I'll be there in spirit.

    Infernal Zoo Lists

Of course not. I just have to trick people into using it to their detriment... like @Jason when I cast -1 to hit on his catapult.. that couldn't shoot that turn. @BenKerr I searched the T9A forums and 85% of the mentions for The Wheel Turns were in Dread Elf threads. The other 15% were in the rules question thread along the lines of "do I still get weapon bonuses". I am feeling Witchcraft still. If the enemy has a big unit of S6 or S7 (Feldraks, Bruisers, Winged Reapers), it could be very useful. Otherwise I just need to figure out how to use Raven's Wing properly. I.E. not bum-rushing the opponent. It's like not flooring the gas pedal or not mag dumping, neither of which I am very good at.
