Oooh! I have a crazy idea! In order to give Intercessor Squads more flexibility during a game, maybe they could have a few guys in each squad carry some sort of harder hitting weapon or some sort of specialized weapon? It’d probably be unfair to let too many of them have it. Maybe, I dunno, one in five? The idea isn’t to make them a dedicated anti-tank squad or a dedicated anti-heavy infantry squad, right, we just want to give them a bit more well-rounded tool box than just everyone having a bolt rifle. This would make the Squad more Tactical. Nah. This idea is too silly. It would never work.

Hey all! Haven’t been around for a bit but am looking to dust off the Mordians and start serving the god-emperor again. Anyone want to teach me 9th edition? 😅

Think ITC with more straight forward missions and scoring is done on the top of your turn instead of the bottom

GW just had to model the Assault Intercessor sergeant options so you can't have a helmet, plasma pistol and chainsword without converting it. Unless I want an extra chainsword or helmet on my hip. EDIT: I converted the plasma pistol to the left hand on 1 sergeant and cut the helmet off the hip on the other. This way they have slightly different poses.

    Dread Mob in 9th?

The Chapter Approved 2020 Munitorium Field Manual book that was released yesterday has updated points for everything. BattleScribe hasn’t incorporated those changes yet, but undoubtedly a thousand nerds are pounding six thousand cans of Red Bull as we speak and updating those databases...

Looking like at 2k I can bring a Salamanders Spearhead with: Brayarth Ashmantle 3x Contemptor Mortis 3x Relic Leviathan Now tinkering time. I can run the Mortis' as double twin lascannons, two with Cyclones. Leviathans as double storm thingy array. Pretty straightforward...or I can start tinkering. Really leaning into running all the Mortis the same and all the Leviathans the same as well. Will be all scratch built and/or kitbashed with non-GW stuff so I need the homogenized loadouts to make em easy to distinguish. But I'm also thinking it gives me no real melee. Maybe drop one storm array per Leviathan and go with the siege drill? Adds a melta and a couple hard hitting punches, loses 10 str7 shots, looks pretty cool though. Storm claw hits a little less hard, still has the melta, re-rolls wounds on infantry (but it's str8 so wounding infantry shouldn't be too hard) Thoughts?

*Moved over from 40k discussion thread* Got called out! Challenge accepted 😉 Found some inexpensive Not-Gundams from a line called 30 Minute Missions that seem to be a good base to build from. Built one to see how they go together and try out some paint schemes. These doods are cool! Right up there on fit and design with entry Gundams which is a high bar. Plan is to build them to the basic components (arms, legs, torso etc), throw all the pieces in a box, spray an obnoxious neon color, shake the box, spray a different neon, shake and repeat. Hoping it'll give a good psychedelic base to start from. Words, words, words...time for pics of tonight's progress! Built model Disassembled to smaller assemblies, lower arm, upper arm etc Put in some boxes, sprayed a fluro green from one direction, neon citrus from opposite direction. Shake the box, spray a pistachio green and stripe in a lavender

    Salamanders Dread list, as Grot-Bots

I knew the combo would be about 2k, but I didn't expect battlescribe to tell me it would be almost exactly 2k.

The Warden was finnicky on his little cape whatever it is that was both on his arm and torso pieces...but I still found him easier than the Overlord.

RN Estudio sells 3D resin casts, 3D sculplting serves, and they will even print your STL files for you. They appear to be based in Spain. LINKY I purchased some Punkapocalyptic minis from the online retailer, Noble Knight Games. These minis came in Punkapocalyptic packaging but don't appear in Punkapocalyptic's online store. RN Estudio sells these same minis, so my guess is that RN Estudio does design and possibly production work for Bad Roll Games (the maker of Punkapocalyptic). I purchased the following two minis for my TNT Raider warband, The Jackalopes. I'll report back on the quality of the 3D casts/prints when they arrive.

True story: Neighbor that lives across the street and two houses over from me is a badass violinist. She's super respectful about practice hours as well. Sometimes I'll have a rough day at work, pull up in front of my house and she'll be playing. I've sat in front of my home, sweaty and filthy, for 45 minutes before just to listen to her play. It's a beautiful thing and tough to describe. Finally met her today, this mythical figure that has lightened my load on many nights, the lady who has given me a wonderful gift when I needed it the most. Finally met this siren songstress face to face today and she's a nasty piece of human garbage. It's a crazy world out there folks, take care of each other. 😉

photo of a book index shows Heavy Intercessors. I assume they will be gravis marines with heavy bolt rifles. EDIT: now that I think about it... probably normal intercessors with heavy bolt rifles and possibly the option for other heavy weapons.

More takeaways! I looove doing a prototype/proof of concept/ total playground to tinker on. When doing something like this where I'm planning on pulling out the stops, it's really freeing to have a piece to try stuff out on. Likes: The colors! Think I've drilled into the final palette. Going to really saturate them though. Tried to do a real light gradient, turned out ok. If I pour on the volume though they'll really pop. New plan. Spray everything in the safety orange. Stripe in the blue and pink just as heavy. Then I'll do a dark rust wash over the whole thing. To bring the neons back up, I'll hash and slash the bright neons back up over the washed panels. Disliked: I went too light on the color sprays, too desaturated I think. Possibly ok but I won't know till after wash and highlights. Words, words, words...pics!

Are you tired of never having a word to playfully insult coworkers in a way that won't interest HR? Getting bored with the same old vocabulary? Find those little bastards in the Elder Scrolls games annoying and you hope a friend who's irritating you also remembers them, and if you call them the name of that little [big bad swear word], they'll get it? Try Scamp! 1) It works in all settings: at work, around kids, after church; nobody will clutch their figurative pearls! 2) It's old timey enough to be non-threatening, but derogatory enough to be chastising even if they don't know what a scamp is! 3) It begins and ends with double consonants with a single vowel sound in the middle. You can really lean in the "SK", drag that "aaaaaaaa" out as long as you want and make it plenty guttural, and pop that "mP" as much as you need to communicate just what kind of scamp they are! You can't mispronounce it, you can only extra-pronounce it! 4) Being a single syllable, it chains nicely into any string of curses if you're working more blue! Anything from "You two-timing scamp-ass mother******!" to "Gedoutta heah, ya scamp!" [feigned sideboot on the backside as they walk away, for only others to see] is an acceptable use for it! Start making your stamp, use scamp today!

Quick dry fit after drying. Liked: The pattern. Cut the colors down to 3, liked the way they blended and flow from mixed to solid in an almost organic manner. Disliked: Color choice, was shooting for obnoxious, landed on pastel Easter candy. Broke it back down, primed all white and resprayed in bubblegum pink, safety orange and neon sky blue. Will update with an assembled version of the new colors after dry and rebuilt. Easter candy version...
