Once all are accepted, we can start up season 4 ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Be aware this is a fun league, but with that comes one big and important RULE. DO NOT CONCEDE. I know we all have bad games where everything goes wrong. Especially with a game where the RNG is not R 🙂. But do not concede. Run-away, beg, bribe, offer sexual favors...I dont care. But do not concede. Concessions wil

Space Marines were really strong in Third, Fifth, and Sixth Editions. With Space Wolves a real powerhouse in Fourth, Grey Knights in Sixth, and Deathwatch in Eighth. (Not technically Space Marines, but still... They still add to the perception of “Space Marines are the favorite child.”) Having said that, I don’t feel like they were as strong, relative to the rest of the field, as the second Eighth Edition codex has made them currently. I’m under no illusions that WH40k will ever be a perfectly balanced game, but that should still be the design goal. I feel like Eighth Edition was abo

  8. Learned more about Crusade, interested in playing in the near future, but I have a few questions about list building for it. When creating/adding units to your Order Of Battle the loadouts, powers, etc. are all set unless you use Requisition Points to change them. Does this include chapter/clan/craftworld etc. as well? Or am I able to play the same unit as Black Legion one game and Alpha Legion the next? Also, I’m noticing a quirk with the PL system that if I add another body to the squad the PL goes up - but weirdly upgrading a bunch of weapons which normally cost points doesn’t cha

    Frostgrave 2020

Okay, I don’t have time to write-up a complete point for point comparison of First Edition to Second Edition, so here’s the TL;DR review: Frostgrave Second Edition takes everything good about Frostgrave First Edition and makes it better. It fixes most of the balance issues, tweaks the broken bits to make them more reasonable, such as toning down certain spells to make them still really useful but not “must have or don’t bother to play.” Yeah, I’m looking at you Leap. They restructured how soldiers are added to you warband to place cap the most powerful types forcing you to have to ma

  11. I've seen plenty of people use Skaven with AdMech gun arms, so they seem like they should be a decent fit. I know the AdMech and IG ones are compatible.

  12. Looking for bolter variants & missile/rocket launchers to mount on rhinos/razorbacks. Really any bolt weapons would do as long as they don’t have a hand attached. Imperium or Chaos doesn’t really matter either.

I hope they get rid of tactical doctrines and just give a 3rd chapter trait. The doctrines are fluffy, but they just add more mental overhead I have to keep track of. I would rather have a fluffy static bonus that is applied all game.

What irks me about Marines (under their current codex, I still hope the new one will fix it) is that they moved from being “The Mario” to being “The Ace.” The main schtick of the Space Marines were that they were the generalist faction, good at everything but not great at any one thing. Blood Angels and Space Wolves were better at mêlée, but still not as great at it as true mêlée focused factions like Khorne; Imperial Fists and Raven Guard were better at shooting, but still not as great as true shooty armies like Tau or Imperial Guard. So on and so forth for all the chapters and whatever

Part of me is very tempted to use Intercessor bodies, but slap regular boltguns on seven of them, a chainsword on the sarge, a regular flamer or plasmagun on another, and a regular heavy bolter or missile launcher on the last. Space Marine Tacti-Tall Squad! As conversion projects go, it wouldn’t be that difficult, although it would be time consuming... Still, I’m enjoying the heck out of Adeptus Custodes right now and plan to stick with them. I think my next army project is going to be a xenos faction, just because I’m contrarian by nature and feel like I ought to play xenos. I just

  22. I’m just curious if they plan to extend the “House of X” books beyond the core six gangs... Mostly because I want my Palanite Enforcers to get access to some of the units mentioned in the background, like Haunts, Scrutinators, and Proclamators. Maybe even Judges.

Thanks to a tip off from Goonhammer, there’s a new FAQ out. Fixes to the more egregious typos in the new book, and some other clarifications. Find it here: https://www.warhammer-community.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/oR0AmqPR5DbK4AJ2.pdf

  24. I mean, my answer is don’t play necromunda if you’re okay with 100% taking advantage of your opponents. I’m sure I’ve been guilty of not adhering to this occasionally, but I certainly try to check myself, frequently. The ways in which the rules have changed for gang creation (adding rules to specialists, champs and leaders to make equipment sets and group activations super clear, the shift in cost and not starting wi armour, the general tone of equipment availability) give me a lot of hope for where the game is headed, especially in terms of tightening up the rule set. That said, ne

It's weird how much effort they put into making everyone day 1 ready at launch of 8th, and have decided to go back to the old format for 9th. Especially since they've committed themselves to cranking the power this edition (and start that process by cranking the power on the same army they ended last edition absurdly overpowering). I mean, if you want to power things up, why start with the most powerful army? No attempt to even pretend to want to level the playing field? They openly acknowledge how screwed Xenos are in their article then offer the fact that we'll get 9th edition cod
