Curious how many people completed the various achievements? Well, I was and since I had all the data it was just a matter of counting (...and counting and counting and counting.) 🙂 Below are the results of all of that counting! As it appeared on the form: Sorting by most to least popular:

40K Book Play vs ITC Play

No. It's not. We're all working adults with busy lives. Our hobby is awesome, but time consuming. So it has to take a back seat to work obligations, family commitments, community engagements, etc.. So when I do make time to play a game I have to respect my time and play in a way that I will enjoy. Because of I don't find fulfillment in the hobby then what's the point? And for me, being on the business end of a BS ITC soup army designed to put my opponent on a podium, and ruin my fun is not an example of respecting my time. That's a waste of my time; and I'm not interested in doing that anymore. I'm here for the beer and pretzels. For the lore and laughs. I spend hours painting my army because I LOVE telling fun, funny, stories on the table top with toy soldiers. Over the last year I've been able to make time for one full 40K match, and a handful of Kill Team matches. I had to cancel OFCC for work. So no, I don't have time to be someone's gaming punching bag. And no, it's not harsh to say, up front, "nope not interested".

    New space Marines book

Also BTW there are no special characters in the Marine Dex anymore. I don't have any of the supplements so I don't know the interactions there. The main Dex got a few more generic relics and has very little to no chapter specific things. Kinda nice really!

Yeah, her show could be thought of as a horror series just as easily as a super hero show. The mental/emotional beating she takes actually keeps getting worse as it goes on.

I'm currently in the mood to bust out my vampire counts army. I tried reading through the army pdf the other day, but got quickly overwhelmed by all of the new terminology. So some small learning games would be great. Maybe come October I'll be in a place to schedule some games. I gotta see if I can clear out some stuff at the swap meet and then it will provide me room in my office to start working on an army again. 🙂

    Grey Knight Battle Reports

YET ANOTHER Dark Kin battle against the Drukhari! This time Keith's massively scary firebase with lots of Talos and such. This battle was definitely uphill. I reconized it early on. Part two of the Battle is where it really got brutal, as I played my cards close to the vest until then but things got crazy from there. Final Score was 28-17 First link with pics and narrative attached. 40K Book Play vs ITC Play

I just listened to this the other day ... and I can see the difference in the ITC and the "book play". I'm like the podcasters in that I like my games and armies a bit more "narrative" or as i like to think of it "fluffy". I'm not the kinda player for ITC - I am well aware of my tastes. Hence, I have avoided ITC events since it's conception. Although, now that I have listened to the episode, I may at some point try some LGS event just to see how things go. But so far my favorite "way to play" in this edition is with the open war cards lol. -d

Thank you to everyone who came out and committed to 15 hours (well 14.5 hours) of wargaming in two days. You are really the weekend warriors that make these events happen. I'll need to get all of the final details from the tournament from the Ordo laptop (I didn't have a way to transfer them due to the no-internet zone). Ill be uploading photos soon, so stay tuned for that! Like Ben K. said, Andrew and I are planning on driving down for the Zoo, we could certainly add 1-2 more people to the carpool. Last year we were generously hosted by one of the locals in Davis, I am sure we can secure a similar situation this year. Finally, because I know Disruptive Conduct will see this. Thank you Ordo for making this event possible. Without Ordo, we may have never met each other and been able to attract new members to our small but growing community. 'Till next year!

Rate the Last Movie You Saw

Yeah, I know. But if you just look at the role from start to finish this is something that The Rock has played before. Maori warrior, some moments of lunkheadedness, generally happy, go-lucky guy. I would doubt this script was very far along when Momoa was cast in Justice League but it still looks like someone was channeling The Rock when he wrote this script.

40K Book Play vs ITC Play

I think it's harsh but fair. You have a specific kind of game in mind and, if they don't meet your expectations of what the game is to you, definitely seems reasonable to pack up and leave. Better that than play a game while being grumpy about it - I've made that mistake more than a few times. Groin kicking franken armies, yeah, know exactly what you are talking about. Even if you play a regular mission without ITC rules, their army won't be fun to play against.

40K Book Play vs ITC Play

And that's why I loved returning to OFCC. OCC Twins were amazingly helpful when I had off the wall questions. Wizard did an amazing paint job bringing my center pieces to life. Monkey was an awesome opponent. I don't know what I'll do next year. I think full Wraith would have been best this year simply because ignorance was the best answer for my return... Now we have the Psychic Awakening coming which is going to make things psychic nutz... who knows... we'll see!

Space Marine 2.0 Errata and FAQ Out

Yeah, I'm mostly thinking in terms of adding things*. As was done with Space Marines here. They play more or less the same as before when souped, but get something extra when pure. * Or possibly doing a complete re-structure for some Factions. Let's face it: Some of them really do want to be re-worked from the ground up. But not just taking things away if souped, unless the Army is unreasonably dominating when pure as it is.

    Dang GW

Its pretty rare that I dislike almost the entire model line for a GW army, but I am not a fan either. But there does seem to be a lot of people who really like them. It does seem like this will be more of an elite Death army too which could be promising. I also think that with new army it will be easier for GW to protect their IP, rather than here is a human skeleton dude with a sword in his hand.

Mr. Robot (season 2) - 2/5 - This one drags a whole lot by comparison to season 1. There are a couple of places where they try to introduce twists but they are not really surprising and they lack the impact or gravitas of season 1. Instead the series just becomes about detestable characters who are essentially ruled by incompetence and while for some of them it is in character others are written out of character to create dramatic tension in places where it becomes unbelievable. Mr. Robot (season 3) - 3/5 - The writing improves and characters tend to be more consistent which improves the series. There are some decent twists but none that compare to season 1. The set up for season 4 (not out yet) is decent but leaves me wondering what they think they can do with it that will not trivialize everything they have done so far. Where I had high hopes after season 1 this one has dropped to the middle of my list for follow-up. Battlestar Galactica (season 1) - 2/5 - I've heard so many good things about this and I am trying to slog through it but this is really poorly written. Half the named characters are so poorly written that they would be better off being un-named so that there was no question of motivation or consistency. Another show that revolves around the inability of characters to communicate clearly in any way. This can be fine if it is consistent or used sparingly but when it is the key trope for 75% of your characters in every one of your episodes it is overdone. I'd like it to press my nostalgia buttons but it can't even do that.
