  1. I'm planning on finally making it for the 40K campaign. I'm bringing Orks and would love to field the Stompa. Because Stompa. Any takers?
  2. You see this? (open in Chrome) http://www.buildwithchrome.com/
  3. Thanks for that! Second script is close to being baked, and I hope to deliver it to the artist next week.
  4. Thanks for the heads up, Burk. My name is all over the site and the comic, so it's okay. I'm cashing in all my name cred on this one. Ha! And thanks to everyone for checking it out! Site's been ticking up hits all day.
  5. Hi Ordos, I have just published my first digital comic online. It's called "Midnight's Masque" and is available on my new site. Not only that, but it's offered at a price of Pay What You Want, so you can get it easily. I appreciate any downloads, read, comments, and especially shares in your social circles. And while I hope to raise money for future issues, please don't hesitate to download for free and enjoy it. At this point it's much more about getting the word out, and I know everyone here is a comic reader and a potential fan. Your support, in any form, is truly appreciated! http://midnightsmasque.com/ Thanks!
  6. Hmm, kinda depends on your strategery. Do you want the DE to hang back with your WK and WS to fire long range (go Dark Lances)? Or do you want the DE to be in your opponent's face immediately (Wyches, Wracks, Venoms)?
  7. +1 (or 2, if you can fit them in your list)
  8. I'm not gonna make it to the league opening due to work, but I am planning on being in the league. If anyone wants to fill in for me tomorrow, go for it.
  9. Perhaps you already mean this, but it would be cool for the Fortification to be the creature accessing the IG's brains. Like their guns that are the smart beasty riding a dumb carrier beast.
  10. FYI, I left the house this morning with nothing packed. Not sure if I'll make it at all, but if I do it will be as peanut gallery.
  11. I'd like to play 40K and use my Stompa. Anyone down for getting squashed?
  12. I like Venom spam. You can take a cheap HQ, a Trueborn squad, and a Warrior squad, packed into two Venoms, and it's very cheap. Splinter Cannons can tear up infantry. And once you've used those Grisly Trophies to reroll your psychic roll of 12, you'll never leave home without them! You can also take a cheap Haemonculus and Wracks as Troops. Again, put them in Venoms and pick off the weak, then capture objectives at the end. And finally, you can throw Wyches with Haywires into a Venom. Good bye, vehicle-of-your-choice. There are some other good choices, though Venoms fit your theme best, and I won't prattle on.
  13. Oh, and if you want to avoid Allies, a Night Spinner with CTM is a hoot. First turn torrent? Yes, please. Roll up your flank with a more torrent, or bombard your fleeing troops? Yes, please.
  14. Jim, you can replace the FP with some DE Allies in Venoms, that will give you the Corsairs feel until the FW list gets updated. Add some Grisly Trophies and you will never fail a psychic test! As for VEs, go ahead and do what you want to do, as there's no wrong way to eat a Reese's - I mean, field a WG death squad. To me, Eldar lists are always an exercise to slice 5 more points of this unit, 10 out of that one, etc., because with those handfuls of points you can buy entire additional units of killiness. After trying VEs a few times, I found the points could be used much better elsewhere, while the 1st turn Flat Out and 2nd turn disembark not only gave me more tactical flexibility but protected both units better.
  15. Sorry, I'll clarify. Most people take VEs so they can shoot and soften up a target, then spin and unload their unit. And even if you don't, the VE rules say "a vehicle... can pivot to face any direction immediately after resolving its shooting attack..." so you are generally forced to face the enemy for both purposes. I prefer moving Flat Out turn 1, then unload and move my WS away on turn 2, which eliminates the need for VEs and those points go elsewhere.
  16. Uh... there's nothing soft about this list at all, and I am quite sure it will blow most anything else off the table. Having used variations of this list (as most Eldar players have), and being an abysmal tactician myself, I can assure you any player with a modicum of skill can dominate with this list. I think the pieces that stand out as sore thumbs are: Mantle Autarch: I've used this guy a couple times and I just don't like him. Yes, he can do what it says on the tin, and pick off a few targets, but having a second Farseer is SOOOOO much better for your whole army. EDIT: misread the list, you don't have a Mantle Autarch. I will still note that 2 Farseers is awesome, and even with one, having him in a unit is better than the Mantle. Fire Prism: it's a great tank, but just doesn't seem to fit with your list. If we're talking fluff, I'd love to see you replace this with something else. You can always take more Hornets, because trust me, once you use them you will never NOT use them. A couple other notes: -Holo-fields on the Hornets tend to be overkill, and you can use those points elsewhere. Not because they're not useful, but because your opponent is busy with other things (if you're playing right). After they've overlooked the Hornets once, you've already wiped out whatever threatens them. -You will need to test this against your playing style, but I found Vectored Engines on the Serpents to be a mixed bag. Yes, you get the D-Scythes in range quickly, but you also expose your non-shielded rear armour to enemy fire. Keeping those Serpents alive after they've dropped the WG is not like keeping worthless Rhinos alive. When I play, the Serpents aren't just about attacking, they are ridiculously useful in absorbing enemy fire, which keeps all your other supa-killies alive (Hornets, Spiders, etc.).
  17. Hornets with pulse lasers are the best unit in the game (point-wise). And that's not some theoryhammer, I have used them several times.
  18. Really awesome. You did a nice job making it playable as well as looking good.
  19. I don't see any changes to my digital WD subscription this morning. And I see no new releases for White Dwarf, Warhammer, or Games Workshop in the Apple Store. *twiddles thumbs accusingly*
  20. Are those Guardians supposed to be Dire Avengers? Because you can't take 7 Guardians. Minimum 10 for 90 points. And Warp Spiders can't have fast shot without an Exarch, which is another 10 points on your listed price. And Serpents should always have holo-fields.
  21. You actually posted that into a thread you created called Jim's Terrain Project Blog. Very funny. Your stuff is awesome. It's like you're becoming a one-man reinvention of Armorcast. Back in the day, I had boxes of their terrain: walls, crates, and buildings. I remember gluing together the resin building parts was quite a pain, though I appreciated being able to take the roofs off and put models inside, or even smashing some up for ruined buildings. One key point about their buildings (and fancier wall kits) were the modeling of connecter joins, like Tab A and Slot B on the pieces. Very handy, especially for holding superglue.
  22. I managed a quick phone pic of the Eldar last night, if that helps out anyone looking to snap up parts from pretre.
  23. Lion's gift was actually a knack for social media, and he was busy on twitter during the opening of the Heresy.
  24. Great find! I forgot that many times rules are found in the reference and not in the rules... lol.
