  1. after digging through my collected epic forces last night... I started working out points using E:A lists. I saw that the "Toss Yer Cabers" (BC Canada org)was using 3000pts for their tourney but was wondering what others were thinking is a typical battle size. I think I had initially thought about building 5k forces just to have room to mix and match for games. But now I am wondering what I should really plan on having vs the typical game size so I can offload some of my collection. My thinking is that I could help others build forces so the local area would have more viable opportunities for opponents lol. -Using 3k as a possible match size - I am thinking 5k-6k in my army collection is probably enough stuff collecting dust. - Another thought is that there are plenty of STL files out there for 3d printed armies - especially if I find that I want to fill army gaps in the future. -d
  2. I will have to work up some lists of the armies for epic I have to see what I may have extra for ya. Hopefully I can go through that tonight - I have all my epic stuff pilled out on my benches because of the rabbit hole your topics have sent me down lol. -d
  3. DAMN - went down a rabbit hole pulling out my Epic stuff - I painted a full Steel Legion last year or was it 2 years ago? Anyhow, now this thread has spurred me into getting another one of my factions painted - probably try to bang out the Space Marines first - then either nids or Eldar. I would really like to get involved in re-kindling an Epic Armageddon scene locally. -d
  4. cool - I may have some extra Eldar around - I will have to look - let me know if you have gaps to fill. Also, Here is a pretty good YouTube series going through Epic:Armageddon rules (including FAQ reviews)... I didn't start watching till last weekend - but its from this year. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCCgvq4PjAeg1OmD9k9kKyFg
  5. As a quick update... "Toss Yer Cabers" (BC Canada org) is using NetEpic-Armageddon for their events of epic this year as well. https://tossyercabers.com/index.php/net-epic-armageddon/ RULES --- https://tp.net-armageddon.org
  6. I think https://www.net-armageddon.org is probably the most current "living rulebook" based on the last edition (4th) of Epic Armageddon. Although some folks like the early editions with cards and the little chips ... and I think they refer to the Net Epic GOLD edition I think. Anyhow, I would love to see the game picked up again locally - its been awhile but I have several armies and terrain ready to go lol -d
  7. Was in the hobby shop today ... saw the new Eldar -... I admit I picked up a box and gandered at Maugan Ra... but quickly put it back when I saw the 45$ price tag for one normal sized figure. I have no thirst for the new Eldar ... and I have not played 40k in over 8-9 months... I don't see myself getting back to it any time in the coming years. I played in a local Bolt Action game day last weekend - I have not had so much joy for this hobby - and a gaming day event (3 games) in a long... LONG time. Balanced rules... concise rulebooks - and reasonably priced minis & armies. -d
  8. I am not sure where in Portland is playing Bolt Action - but I know Rosti is playing pretty much every week at his place (or so that is what I hear). I have not yet gotten around to being able to play weekly (I have to many things on my todo list at home). But I wouldn't rule out figuring something out in another month or so. I am not sure if any local shops host Bolt Action... maybe someone else will know more on that. I have a fully painted USMC force (1300+ pts) and a island assault table just completed for the above event. I am shortly going to start on an Afrika Korp army (1000 pts) ... using the starter box and maybe 3d printing some horse levy lol. My goal is to have at least 2 forces playable at home for Bolt Action. It is too bad you missed the game day - it was lots of fun - it was technically my first 3 games of Bolt Action. I am pretty impressed how well the game is designed and felt balanced. All my opponents were friendly and helpful as well. I am still learning the game, their seem to be lots of nuances to making things work in your army - preplanning and tactical stuff - which will come along as I learn and play more. -d
  9. well I am just north of Woodburn lol... I was thinking ORDO clubhouse is probably the furthest I would want to go depending on the day. All the way through to the other side is a harder thing typically for me lol. -d
  10. I have a fleet or 2... only the Elder painted - but I wouldn't mind re-learning lol
  11. Ok - finished painting the USMC last night - need to add some clear coat tonight - but ready to go. -d
  12. DANG - maybe next time - I am just wrapping up an army for Bolt Action - (event next Sunday). But next on my slate is to get my Vikings and Normans painted. I will keep my eye out for another event in about a month? lol. -d
  13. ALL over thingiverse and mymini factory. I printed quite a few items for EPIC... which are smaller than TY... and they were solid lol. This was my older Photon S...
  14. Test paint first rig for my USMC.... about 1.5 hrs... I think it will work for tabletop. I will address a few other details over time - but I think I will have this army done in a week. -d
  15. I have my army assembled - I will finish priming tonight and start on paint over the weekend. And I have been slowly getting things gathered for the island assault table set up. -d
  16. I have started planning out pieces for a tropical island table set up.
  17. I am selling my older Resin 3D Printer - Anycubic Photon S - in working order with extras (Bottle of Resin, Extra FEP sheets). Upgraded plate leveling system - with original parts as well. I am local to the Portland, Oregon Metro - outer south area. I can demo the printer at my location prior to purchase. (set up - basic operation, cleaning, curing ... etc.). 100$ obo - IMG_2250.HEIC
  18. I am reposting this for the organizer from the facebook group - "Rosti's Gambit" ========================== Ok my fellow Bolt Action players in Oregon (and Washington too). I have a date reserved for the next open game day for March 13th (a Sunday this time)! Same place as before in Aurora, Oregon. We have room for plenty of players and I’ll plan to setup 6 tables to support 12 players - can setup more if we have enough players RSVP. If you are interested in attending please let me know by a PM here or email me at Crostocil@rostisgambit.com and I’ll get your name on the list for updates. Basic setup as before: - 1000 pt armies- 2.5 hr games- Scenarios from the Rule Book ========================== If you have any questions - I would refer you to the facebook group for the email above. I can also relay questions if needed. I have not played Bolt Action yet ... but am planning on having my USMC ready to go for this. -d
  19. I imagine the new avatar will be around 100$ minimum - which would ridiculous -d
  20. I am interested in the new codex... I won't pre-order - but I may pick it up down the line. The new deathjester is just about the only interesting figure to me at this point as well. The new Avatar is cool - but I have the FW version - and it isn't that much of an upgrade to spend for a new one. -d
  21. here is a question for y'all - I am trying to de-clutter my hobby - which includes 3d printing... mostly this means STL files. My downloads folder is full of them... and various other spots that I manage on my computer. But I really need to get a handle on some organization for them. Especially if it is something I plan on holding onto for awhile after I print it. I am thinking the normal folders with different categories... folders within folders...etc. Renaming files with more descriptive names... or lots of tags on the files so I can search for them in other ways. OR some standalone file system which will allow me to have thumbnails??? Anyhow, It is a big subject. How are you doing it? -d
  22. Finally got around to printing this nice version of a grown up dark grogu.
  23. I talked to the organizer of the Bolt Action game day they had in Aurora (near Canby, Oregon) the other day and they said they are just starting to plan for another game day in February. He decided to skip a January event due to Covid stuff going around anew. When I know more I will make a new post about the event. -d
