  1. OK - I finally picked up the Dark Eldar book yesterday - and started thumbing through it. I am hoping to start work on rebuilding my Harlequin Troupe… and it seems that 7th has given me lots of options. I am hoping for some insight from the vast majority of "better gamers" than I out there - for direction. I do not want to "counts-as" then entire army - this just seems silly to me and will not work. I am thinking about Harlequin Wraithlord conversions to be a DE Cronos… possibly… but I don't know if that is much worse than just having the wraith lords being wraith lords. I am thinking mostly CE force with a DE detachment currently. But I could go entirely unbound as well. I want to put in some of the "cool" things I have modeled or converted - but otherwise I am open. Those things are a squad of converted harlequin jet bikers with lances as shining spears. And a bunch of converted hellions (all blank faced and lead by a harlequin troupe master on sky board)… I want to use both of those units. I have a ton of harlequin jet bikers (20+)… I would use them as either CE jet bikes or reaver jet bikes? I have 2 sets of the old metal harlequins - every model made. I have 3-4 units of the newer harlequins as well. I want to have a "great harlequin" as my troupe leader… maybe an archon? or a phoenix lord? At least one WWP for fluffy reasons - but I could see use of more. Venoms? maybe. Ok - I will work on some lists - but the idea here is I want a traditional… 1990's harlequin army… not a CE or DE army counting as a harlequin army. If I go unbound things are fairly obvious… I can take whatever. But I would like to have a force that is "tourney legal" as well… so either a CE or DE combined force army. Looking for the best options - for a semi-competitive-ish army. -help? -d
  2. I'm really interested - have to see what I would play - but new year is full of hope :). - pencil me in!
  3. yes - I've been stuck on a snow theme for quite a long time… (hope to change that soon) … anyhow I do as westy states - put glue down (sometimes diluted slightly with water) first… then I put the snow mix in a shallow bowl and "dip" the figures base through the snow… tap off lightly and set aside to dry. I only recently started using some different snow products… one is the GW stuff which I found to be kinda "bulky" or too big?… if you understand that description. I also have tried the "army painter" brand which seemed to better to me. I also ordered the "ground glass" snow from CMON - but I have yet to try that. All the snow I use has tended to brush off over time - its been 5-6 years for some of it - it still looks ok to me - but if I were to put some of the figures into a display case long term - I would probably redo them. In the past I used some stuff I got from CMON years ago… "tri-star" or something was the brand…. it is a very fine powder - awesome stuff… micro-beads of some kind. But I am running out of it and can't seem to find it to buy anymore. Lastly - when doing "snow themed" I use powders - currently I use the make-up style from Tamiya… the powder gives a nice frosty look to the figures …near the snow areas (legs… etc). I also use it on the wind blown edges as well to pull together the entire snow effect. -d

    Wraith Lord?

I had a WK and a WL in my OFCC list ... I had the WL kitted out to run and chop with his sword ... He was ok for the task - body guard for the Wraithseer and there to lend a CC hand for the wraith guard.
  5. i loved the wire… i was really sad to see them wrap it up :)
  6. finished up Boardwalk Empire last night - series finale - excellent show IMO… lots of good writing, acting. It was an enjoyable show. -d
  7. I know one of my teammates (steal angel) had some stuff like that. basically - cotton balls… and led - tea lights -- paint… someglue… very cool looking not the table. -d
  8. It's ok that you don't get hockey…
  9. I can't like this more than once?
  10. hmmm I still use Simple Green - but that Krudd Kutter sounds nice :) -d
  11. hmmm I have been wanting to get a game of 40k in since OFCC - now that I have a fully painted force ready to go - I may be able to make it - but I will not know till sunday :) -d
  12. I ordered my own … about 2 weeks ago… should be here this week. So - I am out of this deal. -d
  13. very cool - I have been looking at all that dream forge stuff for Eisenkern- just not sure which army to do the counts as with it (IG seems most logical i guess). I love the vehicles too. - maybe grey knights? -d
  14. I am getting back into focus on the hobby - mostly looking at modeling and themes. I intend on getting back to capt. at OFCC … and to try to put together more of a "club" team focusing on fluff - paint - building terrain and that crafty side of things. Right now I am struggling with finding a new home base to play after I have moved to the south of the portland area. Focusing on Apoc when I can - and just fun semi competitive armies. I really just want to play more and have fun. thanks fluger -d
  15. hmmmm well looks as if my harlequins will be mostly standard Eldar… with some allied units from the DE book so far… but I will wait till things shake out -d
  16. Dex is stores saturday? just trying to plan my weekend :D
  17. last read was that Harlequins are not in the book… we shall see. But now my hope is that means Harlequins could be on track for their own supplement :) -d

    OFCC Feedback

first? I am pretty sure they were not "first"… lol - not like there wasn't folks already in the area lol…
  19. excellent - thanks fix! this will help me noodle through the concept on this idea :) Now I need to wait till the weekend and see what kinda dark harlequin list I can build. So far what I read about webway portals is ok - depending on whom can get them. BUT - I can always do a combined army or an unbound army - So I think this concept is solid for me right now.
  20. I am eager to hear about how it went as well… but again it all depends on what I do when the DE codex comes out and what it does to the harlequin options. --- if I am unbound… or not etc.
