  1. Yeah, the Doppelganger is pretty close to an auto-include for me. I love her as a scheme runner with Pandora because she gets access to "Misery Loves Company" from the Sorrows and can drop scheme markers while engaged, and then pop out of CC somewhere else. Plus, cheating initiative is the win. I'll have to look into the Hooded Rider a little closer. I'm waiting for his plastic at the moment, so might need a proxy.
  2. I'm thinking of bringing Lucius as a dirty Neverborn to the Malifaux GT in Portland, and am trying to figure out what to bring with him. Beckoner for certain, and I've got a couple other ideas for support units, but am stuck on a good beatstick for him. There aren't any really obvious choices which also have synergy. Any thoughts?
  3. AAAAAAAAAAND...... Paid. Now to find crash pad.
  4. I am definitely interested. Sounds like Blasto and one of our local friends are also heading down.
  5. The new rules look pretty awesome, though. Emissaries look great, the Seven look great, and the other models fill some needful holes (And there's a Rezzer Freikorps!).
  6. Awesome! Is there no Walpurgis this year? If not, I'll need to come up for a weekend of funtimes around the same time regardless. I've actually got about 6 guys in Seattle playing now and they are pretty enthusiastic.
  7. I wish I could, but the wife is out of town, which means I'm a single father that weekend.
  8. I used Gnoblars and Empire Militia for my slaves. You can get a couple pretty decent units with just a few boxes.
  9. I find your offer rich and compelling. Perhaps this fall, once my allowance has recovered from Wyrd's Gencon releases we should do that thing.
  10. Sarissa is nice stuff too. I've been eyeballing their work for about a year trying to convince myself that I want to spend my play money that way.
  11. Getting some pre-tournament Malifaux on sounds excellent. I need just a touch more practice with larger stone games as all my 2nd ed experience has been with 35 stones.
  12. I'm from the Seattle area, but sharing hotel space might be welcome. I still need to check with one other friend who may be going as well to finalize that part, but I am open to the idea of sharing a room.
  13. No worries, man. Things happen, and there will almost certainly be a next time.
  14. I'm getting my ticket tomorrow. Just had to wait for paychecks to roll in. Then on to figuring out where I'm sleeping.
  15. Ohhh! Ok, I hope that these things last till next week, because I'm totally in. My buddy Josh may be heading up as well.
  16. I'm also of the Single Master, Set (if large) pool, upgrades don't count mindset. I find part of the challenge of these events is to find a general group of models that could conceivably do most if not all things. I enjoy the challenge of trying to make an "all comers" list. In addition, let's use the Guild as an example. They have masters who are specifically keyed to being better at defeating models from one entire other faction. I would suggest that a no-limits event would highly favor a guild player who had all the toys. Not all factions have that degree of specialization. I really think that the M2E system with upgrades goes a long way to offsetting any master-specific weaknesses against strategies: furthermore when you add in the randomly limited schemes. In addition, limiting to a single master means that a given player will be more likely to understand their group well, and give a better game (I know I'm guilty of this myself now and again). Plus, we will probably have better painted crews. I would very much like to see one faction, one master, 70 stones be the order of the day.
