  1. Hmmm I might know someone who would be interested, I'll reach out to them and then let you know.
  2. I would if I could...that is a great deal Torg.
  3. I have multiple starters of various sets....I will look to see if I have a rulebook and tokens for you Torg
  4. I have the Edge of the Empire and Age of the Rebellion rule books for FFG's Star Wars RPG for sale. Both are a bit worn, but otherwise okay condition. Open to trades or $40 for each book.
  5. I just played my 2nd game the other night. Not sure we got it all right, but went fairly well. I think the hardest part was trying to remember the Tac Ops stuff? Some of those cards don't make a lot of sense. I don't really get how a compendium list is going to compete well with an elite? list. Having troops with special abilities that can combo very well seems really powerful to me.
  6. so is it more of a one and done? I guess I was surprised to see some "spider silking" when I took a spool out of its sealed plastic bag. Or do I just make sure before I print, dehydrate it each time?
  7. anyone have a recommendation on a filament dehydrator? I discovered a slight flaw in their designs though when a new spool I got had the break in the actual spool. So it would be useless in most machines as it couldn't spin. I have not found a dehydrator that lets the spool turn over a peg like my printer does.
  8. Not free, but https://www.warscenery.com/ these guys do great stuff and have kickstarters all the time that are well worth investing in. They are about to do another star wars themed set any day now.
  9. j1 snapmaker - dual head FDM printer....right now I just print using one head at a time. I recently ran out of the filament that the printer came with, and bought some creality spools and made sure they had the same specs as the filament I previously used. That being said, I've had some issues. 1) the new stuff seems much more brittle. I printed my first piece..all went well, but two thin poles on it snapped off immediately while I was trimming excess off (this new stuff seems to leave spidersilk threads all over). 2) when trying to do multiple pieces at a time, I'm getting spaghetti. Basically, the filament stop sticking and it goes everywhere. 3) a really odd occurrence is when it seemed to go off several inches mid way during the print, so the bottom half was in the correct place, but then everything shifted to the left by two inches and it kept printing... All of the specs of the filament matched what I previously had..but this has really got me stumped. I haven't changed any settings. I'm using snapmaker luban software. The stuff did say value-pack, so maybe it is just a cheaper filament and not going to be very good for thin stuff, but just in case, I thought I'd post here to see if anyone else had thoughts that could help.
  10. First off, that is a very nice looking army. Hats off to you sir. Look stunning. Hope you are able to find a buyer. Can't help but reflect a bit on what a WFB army at that price would have looked like. Just the age we are in I guess. 🙂
  11. Well I have finally taken the plunge and getting some stuff. Hopefully will have starters on Friday and then some more Separatists. Still planning on going Imperials as well, but for some reason the Roger Rogers got to me. Also, their box set is apparently a fantastic deal and well, I'm a sucker for a good deal. Will start reading the rules and hopefully will be able to join you guys at WoW soon.
  12. I was super pissed when the mechanicum book didn't have any skitarri in it at all. I have the forge world upgrades and assumed those were for 30k units...nope. frikken frak
  13. Figured I'd try here before searching ebay and amazon. If anyone has it and no longer wants it, please let me know.
  14. I have to admit that I have been sorely tempted to get into SWL. I am a huge SW fan and this game seems perfect. But, I have never seen it played, nor know anyone that actually plays it. Was hoping to get some insight and perhaps reviews from locals if there are any. The dark side is pulling me and I need to know whether to give in or not. 🙂 Also, do you need the starter kit?
  15. A link to pictures would really help this. You mention "additional photos" but I don't see a current one.
  16. I would really like to know. I finally hosted a 10th ed match and only actually subbed in a little during the game, mostly letting other people play. I have so many models already...and yet I keep expanding my collection. I blame mindtaker quite a bit. I can't recall the last time I paid retail for a GW product, or bought from an actual GW store. And it isn't like Mindtaker is cheap either? Much less expensive than retail obviously, but GW's pricing even makes their stuff significant. Heck, I just dropped $105 today on 11 models? Really? 11 models? But I didn't have them...and I wanted them....or at least once I saw them on their web site I wanted them.....maybe that is it. Maybe they have subluminal messages in their web site, controlling my mind to buy stuff. 🙂 Ugh. Either that or I'm just trying to earn my own box at their store. I'm grateful to them for allowing me to fill holes in my collection, but I also have to curse them a bit for allowing me to fill holes in my collection. I think it comes down to perception right. I look at GW's prices and can immediately scoff at them and walk away. But then I see Mindtaker's price...and compared to GW its great. And then I hit the buy button. Hmmmmm maybe I shouldn't compare the prices...I think that might actually slow me down. Then I just have to consider purely based on current offering instead of the allure of the "deal". Am I alone in this? Is there some cure to this malady? Help me Ordo-wan Kanobi....you're my only hope.
  17. Actually, I'm not. Surprisingly so. A friend of mine basically asked me to try it out again. And I did. And so far...its fun. Now just for some quick....well maybe not quick...but for some backstory, I was a big MMO player 20 some years ago (jesus that sounds bad). I tried out Ultima Online when it released...but didn't like it. I think I still have the cloth map though. Then I got into EQ beta and wow...that was a blast. I think played for quite a while after it came out officially and then went on to Dark Age of Camelot, Warhammer Online, Star Wars Galaxies, dipped my toe in WoW, but was not impressed and didn't see what the hype was about. I even tried out EQ2 way back when, but after sinking so much time and energy into EQ..didn't see a reason to jump over. Eventually moved on to D&D Online and then Neverwinter...but then fell out of MMOs. Well the game is still going and it has a free to play model. So I installed it and gave it a go. I had forgotten the old style of MMO gameplay and why I had liked it so much. There is so much to actually explore...and reasons to be cautious...and fun things to discover and then grind though...okay, so the grinding isn't great...but not as bad as it used to be. Plus there is odd satisfaction in crafting too. Anyways, the free version lets you have two classes and so far I've only hit level 20 in about a week of play....but it goes up to 80+?? And of course, the best time is actually playing with my friend who is across the country and otherwise don't get to spend time with. Yeah, the graphics are way dated, but the upside is that you don't need a powerhouse pc to run it. I think they have also sped up xp gain and the like and made corpse runs a thing of the past...now if you die, your gear gets damaged and you can just pay coins to fix. Not bad at all. Nothing like running around eastern Karana trying to find my corpse and dodge monsters the whole time. Oh, and mobs actually give up the chase after a while, so no trains. Anyways, just thought I'd share.
  18. RL is hectic right now and just didn't have the bandwidth I'm afraid to make it. I'd love to actually go to the next one. It would give me some motivation to work on a 40K army.
  19. So? How did it go? Due to conflicts, I wasn't even able to swing by this year, but I hope it was successful. My wife even asked me about it. 🙂
  20. Toss my hat in the ring for interest in 6th, moreso than 8th, but would also consider.
  21. I just download them to my tablet now for reference...but during the game...the app works great. I really like the built in links to most of the special rules or properties so I can click on them to pull them up. So handy! They just need to expand it to the enhancements as well. Those aren't links for some reason but they sometimes add special rules to models.
  22. The only thing that is bugging me is the fact that they are constantly making updates to the cards, which makes buying the cards useless. On the one hand, great that they are making balance changes, but on the other, you are wasting people's money for having outdated rules. I wish they would announce when they made changes at least instead of me having to go to download page and check the dates or versions myself. The app is really nice though. Once I got the other players to load it, it made the game run much smoother. Now if they would only add a turn/CP/VP tracker to it, it would be really useful.
  23. Ugh, I am loving the new minis. They are spectacular. Thankfully, looks like Scotty has shown me a much cheaper way to get into it. 🙂
  24. Got together with a couple of friends and got in a game of combat patrol. 1st game of 10th and we kept things pretty simple. It was nids vs marines, both players not existing 40K players but were 40k adjacent. It was fun, fairly simple, and went well. The nids won the day as they were able to basically assault the marines with the lictors on turn 1 and then pin the termies down with their barbgaunts. I'm sure the next time, the termies will deepstrike in and put up more of a fight. I will say that the nids rolled so many saves that it really put a hurt on the marines. That opening charge could have been a disaster as the flame marines put down over 20 hits with a great roll....but only half wounded, and then only 2 wounds got through....letting the lictors drop all but one guy. The last sgt did last a few rounds with the help of the librarian and eventually even killed all the lictors. But again, half of the marine force for the whole game. The terms were slowed down by the barbgaunts and then were too cautious moving forward. They did try a turn two charge vs the pycho-thingy, but failed to roll a 6 on two dice twice. Also, the marine player kept rolling 1's for saves and the terms just got whittled down until eventually only the captain remained. VP wise, it was a complete runaway win for the nids. really showed the importance of grabbing vps and either working to hold them or deny them. I think the next game will be better. I keep flopping on what army to try. Hopefully we'll get another day of gaming in soon so I can maybe try out a few options. Both players had fun though, so we should see more games.
