  1. Hey Ordo! Long time no post! Here is our current set of trenches and bunkers progress! Our first release of printable files can be picked up at MyMiniFactory.com under campaigns. Search by Hexhog. This set coming to KS in next 3 months.
  2. Ok team Ordo! It has been a lot of fun to share as this project has moved along. It will soon be time for this project to leave the safety of its lair in my garage and venture out into the world. We are planning a Kickstarter tentative for early July. (3d printable files) picture below is the summer theme on a hexagon skirmish table. here is a link to a video post I made over on reddit. Flyover video link we also have a webpage now, nothing fancy but it exists! www.hexhogtabletops.com Thanks for all the likes, comments and feedback!
  3. Time for an update! Spring version of Area hill: Here is a gif of 24”x24 time lapse encounter table winter themed. https://i.imgur.com/DSDAzL1.gifv Getting ready for a digital Kickstarter! Going to have 5 levels. Send me a PM of your email if you want to be notified when it goes alive.
  4. Some day that may happen. Right now looking to do some detailed sculpting of taller hexes. i think I want to do a roadway after that and then see where it goes... Video Link on Reddit: Video Link

  6. Working on increasing table size. When finished will be 48”x48”. Also updated all hex models with revised digital sculpting.
  7. Update time! Working on the table side of the project about 4” of elevation change from one long side to the other! Didn’t realize how many of my new pieces I would need so printing to fill blank spots. Here is a gif of the area terrain option with same pieces. https://i.imgur.com/ZoUlt8F.gifv
  8. Yes, already done. The system uses openLOCK, those are integrated into the base and frame pieces only though, to support modularity there are several pieces without openLOCK, such as all the ones with details. And below is FDM print results at .15mm looks good in my opinion. Going see if I can source a cheap print on a resin printer.
  9. Hired a sculptor to do details (way way faster than me) on a single piece as I have had a couple people ask about kickstarting the idea, which I would want more detail. I already bought a waymo sculpting pen for myself and started to play around, will take me a while so that is the fallback plan if this is too much detail. Printer is running right now so will see tomorrow if prints have details are noticeable at .15mm later height in the new version. Here are digitals, left is original, right is extra detail in the slicer. If I had a resin printer I am pretty certain I would notice!
  10. Update: I received some good feedback I was able to integrate for the area terrain edges option. Files coming off the printer are pretty solid and make a more aesthetic piece of terrain. New is on the left, though unpainted. Definitely will look better plopped on the table.
  11. Update! Painted but not yet sealed. Thinking will break in this weekend with kids fighting a bunch of Skellie’s on DND adventure we have going.
  12. Height goes up, that was the key to the idea. I already have some prototypes that step up two standard hex heights per hex the immediately pictured above all step up one. I designed an internal “frame” hex that is hollow that supports and stacks up or laterally in a nice lattice. i have been working on some model pieces to allow me to set on edge at say 7 inches and then the other side will fall to the 1/2” most of the table above is. the picture below has a two level hill on the left, the little out crop sits on top of four frames, the outcropping on the right back has a single hex at the second level.(in progress to paint all the silver pieces)
  13. Well time to dust off this thread! Have to beat that decade marker. My update: Well another ~3 years has passed, another small child, so time to start painting again! Sorry for pic orientation. Three vermin hulks!
  14. An update! So integrating some feedback from people who have had their chance to get hands on them. “Can it be a Table?” And “the angle of the scatter piece bases aren’t aesthetically pleasing.” (thanks jmgraham!) well i am nearly done with table idea and have started rounded edges for the area terrain feature. I had to make a bunch of edge pieces, then, as is typical for this project screw up the tolerances, and fix! Here are table progress shots! Thoughts? table is 30”x24”
  15. Thanks! Looking forward to limping this project along. I think my goal is to build the starter army list form 9th and paint it. Then I can have two armies to play with the kids.
  16. Thanks, using the the 9th age starter list which calls out some of the basics of what you list. How effective are light cav options?
  17. Not sure how to cross post, but I know hamster might have insight... Hey, so long ago (6th/7th ed) I had this idea of doing an all halfling army for WHFB. Well dreams do becomes reality as I backed a Kickstarter that has a good start of halfling units coming my way. Specifically looking for “no regrets units to build around” going to have about 30 mounted models and 40 infantry. Any advice?

  19. Been working on a storage system for the painted hills.
  20. Thanks WestRider! I am thinking of seeing what I can make on a kill team like board. that or a 3x3 frostgrave. Here is a shot showing the vertical elevation the single step pieces I have painted can achieve. I am painting some dual step pieces tonight. The pieces can tessalate along all three axis so I am hoping to get some fun tables to play on once I finish out the dual step pieces.
  21. I have been making steady progress, debating where to go next with the project. I thought I should post some more finished components assembled into hills. Three hills The next two two shots are an attempt to show the modularity of the design. Each hex can have its edge pieces stripped off and then clipped to another hex. Two hills, notice flat hexes in background. Four flat hexes added to middle, you could put them together without hexes , just remove edges and clip together.
  22. Looks great! I have an Mk3 and love it. what filament brand are you using? I am/was using Hatchbox, but ten pack discounted bundle no longer available on amazon. Also have you done much for gap filling? I have defaulted to using a coat of modge lodge brushed on...then pre. I tried some two part epoxy from smooth on and was not impressed to messy and easy to over coat.
