  1. Depends on painting time and comfort level. Prolly just soloing Bishop which means Vickies, I have Parker but not painted and not that familiar so back to what I know. Only gotten a couple of games in but Ronin work with my style and I'll figure out those schemes... Maybe...
  2. WAAC is so much older than ITC. I know there are a number of self described ITC players here that enjoy the leader board but are not WAAC. Please respect them by realizing there are differences and not saying all ITC are WAAC. it is inflammatory and you have been advised of this. Pax your book has been noted as being different and you have in the past asked how you can avoid certain confrontations. This is one of those you should take note of and consider when dealing with others. Your hold on this ITC equals WAAC is starting to even offend me. That example is not a typical ITC player he was a typical WAAC who was using the ITC construct. Does ITC draw those WAAC players? Sure so does war machine.
  3. @Fixxer what is the estimated end time? I got a friend coming into SeaTac late (super late) Saturday and seeing if I can hook them up with a ride home.
  4. Biggest thing is to realize that while you consider them WAAC it is a slur so make sure you intend to enflame the other party when you use it. Regardless of the meaning it holds for you it is a pretty stiff derogatory term in our circle (gaming in general) and it's use should be carefully considered.
  5. A focus on winning and competition is not WAAC. WAAC is a pretty strong word with cheating and bad sportsmanship included. I hate seeing ITC and WAAC being considered so similar... ITC actively tried to eliminate WAAC as well but they are definitely focused on the win. I dislike ITC due to the focus on winning and points with missions that are just a little to intense for me. 40k rules do not support that level of competition to me. Can they? Yes ITC proves that is it in a way I want to put my effort into? No. ITC practice is definitely a focus on playing a certain way and one I avoid. But in the end do not discredit the number of ITC players that are as wonderful if not more so than those "narrative" players out there. Do not label someone WAAC based on their preferred gaming style label them based on their behavior with in that construct.
  6. @Fixxer wife and work approved the time off!
  7. I'm good, no allergies! Now to get clearance and submit for some time off. I'll let the wife decide when I head back. It is only 4 ish hours off peak times.
  8. What is the chance I can couch surf for this? Three games could be worth the drive but not a hotel room... I'd shoot for a reasonable Friday evening arrival and head home after the games.
  9. It is more the drive for points... ITC brings a more competitive player out to compete. It takes practice and mental effort to be more than just a speed bump. While there are casuals at the events there is a little bit of evening out and a chance at a rough encounter or two. Personally I'm a go and give it a shot find the diamond in the rough so to speak. Do it less now with a kid so I get the sentiment of no ITC and it is those missions combined with the American norm of succeed or why bother that lead to less enjoyable encounters. I've never gone to any tournament and had all the games be enjoyable. Events are different, ITC are tourney and practicing for them creates a dynamic that I also look to avoid.
  10. Okay most transports that matter... Land raiders pshaw
  11. Jump packs can NOT enter most transports.
  12. Hmmmm didn't know about the herald stuff but there is a big difference between jump packs and bikes... Bikes when advancing get auto 6” and you are getting a little tougher...
  13. While I look at this as what is better for the game... While they could write legit rules for some of those units is it good to do so? A buffing character who has an aura moving that fast is hard to point out. His stats aren't that good but the aura can be super good positioned correctly. That bike is super valuable cost would need to be high but then it probably wouldn't sell as well. I totally get the decision not to build a new kit for it adding a sku to the wall for something that may or may not sell well at the points cost. Zipping around at those speeds with his buffing is crazy just like the Libby. Being able to position for those mortal wounds...
  14. Well playing is a bit of a stretch so far but I'm super excited about it!
  15. I've got lines on some interest. But nothing really formal and even Bellevue is hours south of me...
  16. I've gotten my M3E stuff now! Yay gotta get it all figured out... Vickies will still be my go to as Bishop joined them officially keyword style... Question tho as a curve ball... Could I declare henchman Pride as my leader and hire all seven crossroads models? I think this is how it works. If have to leave Chambers at home as no hiring Masters there but I'd use outcast upgrades and versatile models/pay out of keyword for other outcasts right? All while having models from every faction...
  17. Agree with you on many accounts. The new Marine BS on the thunder fire is 2+ to hit and a 2+ save (used to be 3s) and benefiting from tactics and doctrines. That extra shooting attack is 2cp and works for thunder fire and whirlwinds fyi.
  18. I was gonna ask about that thunder fire... They are good but not that good. Slowing stuff down with tremor shells is still better.
  19. Yep but you get chapter tactics based on detachment... Left me wondering if they are going to continue with army rules in addition to the detachment rules to encourage less soup.
  20. Yep this. Best use I've seen for skull cannons is actually back field objective scoring. They are some of the toughest to kill options for the points and quite hidable!
  21. Confetti cannons? I would not specifically invest in them for the option... I think ’letters could actually put more damage down on a tank. That said if you already own them yeah go ahead and give them a try.
  22. If house ruling for "fairness" you could prolly come up with some "reserve" power level for summoning. Just remember that the power level of some units takes into account summoning and you are sacrificing allot from any character in order to summon. Maybe no more more than an additional 10% increase in power level of the army for summons? But you could purposely take less to allow for more summoned power level.
