There was a time when I was a fairly prolific army builder (mostly 40K and Fantasy), but about 10 years ago I lost the itch and stopped building. I'm looking to downsize my collection and am looking for some advice on the best way to do that.
I have a number of half-built armies, dozens of 40k vehicles, individual figures not in blister, and a few in-box sets that may or may not have something cherry-picked out of it. I may also get rid of some of my 40K armies, but the fantasy stuff still has value as roleplaying minis. In rough order of quantity, I have Fantasy, 40K, Infinity, Confrontation, Hordes, and a few others. Tons of Reaper and other mini blisterrs, too. Mind you, all of this is at least 10 years old, going back to 20 years old, so none of it is from current versions of the game. I've already thrown away two huge garbage bags of stripped sprues, and could probably fill another.
One idea I've got is to donate it to the Ordo Senate and they can garage sale it, or whatever else they want, and invest that back into the club. I'm not confident the reward would be worth the work, though, as I have no idea how valuable the older stuff is.
Anyways, what do you think? Is there a best way to get rid of this stuff?
