  1. I just asked on the facebook page and the main rules designer replied.
  2. I checked on the This is not a Test facebook page and when a model goes on hold, they remain on hold until their next activation. So it lasts into the next turn.
  3. can I get two d10 rolls for my feral mutant and my alpha?
  4. the only date I dont like is October the 28th. For people who will be doing stuff for Halloween it will make it hard to come. other than that I dont have a preference.
  5. odd, I dont see any adds but thats probably because I use an add blocker. Any suggestions for a image hosting site?
  6. Hey guys, the warhamsters are going to start a campaign for This is not a Test. I have been plugging away trying to get some models ready and decided i was going to play mutants. By playing mutants I was able to scour my bots box and cobble together most of my warband. Because this game is a skirmish game where players need less than 10 models I wanted to try a new basing technique and decided on the new GW texture paints. I used Agrellan earth. I like it so far but I wish the crackle effect was more prominent. I saw that you can buy crackle effect paint from craft stores and it looks like the crackle is larger and more consistent. One thing about the Agrellan earth is that you need to prime and base coat the base before applying the texture paint. If you do not the paint does not hold to the base and easily flakes off. I did not prime the bases and had to scrap them clean because they were basically useless. Here are the first 3 finished models. first is Uncle Cletus Next is Meral the man bird And the last is one eye Pete thats is for now. I have a couple more in the paint process so hopefully later this week they will be done.
  7. Koyote and I got in a game yesterday to try out some of the rules. After the game I went and looked up if we did stuff wrong (of course we did, it was our first game) and found a couple of things. When firing on burst with a weapon, if you jam on the first shot, you can use your second action to take one of the jams away instead of firing. You can fire a gun when prone. If you fail a graze test and are in cover, you move back three inches unless there is no cover to move in then you must go prone. When flipping cards during the search phase, I think you flip them one at a time and choose to re-flip instead of flipping all of them and choosing which ones. I think thats it for now.
  8. waylandgames mdf stuff is pretty cool for the price. There is a guy in our gaming club that bought a bunch of their stuff for Saga terrain and the buildings dont need any paint and look great. I will also attest to worldsmith industries terrain. Jim does a good job of making fantasy friendly terrain. what I mean by that is a lot of stuff can be removed from the base to allow movement trays to sit on top. They also paint up pretty well. If you are feeling especially gutsy you can get some Hirst Art molds and make your own terrain from plaster. I have made a bunch of things for Dark Tower up in bellingham with these molds and they look great and allow for maximum creativity. its kind of like building high quality terrain out of legos. These are expensive and time consuming though so thats the down side.
  9. I picked up a good set of themed playing cards on amazon, there are plenty of different styles if people are interested.
  10. oh it had everything with the bottle of whiskey and nothing to do with any "wafting"
  11. Another great tournament, especially since I got to give Matt an actual game without falling asleep and finished the entire thing with a game against Yarb.
  12. stumbled onto these guys while listening to pandora.
  13. Sorry man, Gage and I set up a game to try out his Ogres again. Gabe mentioned he will be looking for a game for this tuesday.
  14. jesus dude, that is one hell of a list. Do you just keep up with everything as they come out, or do you let them build up a but and binge listen?
  15. I found a new podcast called Medieval Death Trip. The host focuses on a short episodes and stories from primary sources and gives some before and after context. Most of the stories that he explores are filled with oddities like saint stories, miracles, battles, and deaths of notables. I have been extremely enjoying this podcast and am about half way through it. The host has a great warm voice and is a creative writing prof. with a background in old English so he gives very insightful and critical commentary while throwing in plenty of pop culture references. I know my background in medieval history makes this more interesting for me, but he is a good enough podcaster that I think others could find enjoyment out of it.
  16. Hey D_Lo, it looks like Scipiano cant make it so id be down for 9th age. Also whatever happened to your friend who had the elves? I have not seen him around lately.
  17. As Wiccus and Munkie said, we tried it and mostly hated it. 9th age offers a much better large scale fantasy army sized game while retaining flavor.
  18. Jake, I want a rematch against your empire. How about it?
  19. I will be in Seattle getting ready to get up to leave to Iowa the next morning so I am out.
  20. haha, I saw this post while I was listening to this album... IT IS FATE!
  21. I will be showing up at 6:30 so if you want to grab a table and get terrain set up that would save a lot of time Gage.
  22. im throwing down the gauntlet, you have been avoiding my orcs for long enough!
