Is there a deal with parking validation, or should I be letting players know they will need to pay for their own parking if they are not staying at the hotel. Do we know the daily rates?

Overnight parking is $10 per day. They can provide a 1 time pass to leave and come back on the same rate (hence lunch). Else, hourly rates can apply. Ideally the $10 with pass is going to apply to most. It's a gated parking lot with frequent security patrols.

When will we be seeing more information about the events planned?

Tickets for OFCC 2023 are in the store now. We have a 40k event, 9th age event, and Kill team event as the primary events on Saturday & Sunday.

We'll be setting up Friday around 3-4pm, but it'll be open until 1am. Saturday from 8am to 1am, and Sunday from 8am until closing ceremony (3-4pm). So there will be plenty of after event time too and likely smaller fun events too.

As you can tell we are all excited and thanks for the info. I look forward to seeing more info about OFCC.

I've talked directly with the Hotel and they've committed to getting me a detailed floor plan next week. This will allow us to start opening up HOG requests based on less size this year and prioritize systems that can be run. We haven't confirmed the main event systems though (yes, likely 40k, Blood bowl, etc).

I'm betting Friday night will be open to many wanting to run an event (just in case anyone is wanting to run a Smaller session as a HOG). That space may open as soon as 4pm for such an event and go late into the night/morning (1am). We've done things like Blood bowl 7's before, Kill Team, Board games, etc. Even Saturday Night will do this too.

However, more to come soon 😁

(but shouldn't the quoters be reversed?  Bard first and Rogue replying?)

    Yeah, agreed.

The person I'm using it against, isn't a rogue. But he's crazy about his cooking. It's become a major part of the campaign, thus perfect scenario to plagiarize 😁

Hey guys I am trying to help a local family find new homes for there son's Warhammer collection. He passed a while back and I would love to be able to turn some of this around and hand them some cash to do something nice with. Anyways are we allowed to post lot's for sale on this forum? He had a lot of Tau tanks and infantry.

    Sorry to hear that.

Below is our selling thread. And yes you can sell on the forum.

  6. OFCC Dead? Not a chance!

The club is surviving, still has club space, all the terrain, tables, etc. Even if we have to do a smaller venue, SOMETHING will renew. However, that's me just knowing the senate doesn't want it to sink. OFCC this year? Yeah, not likely. Getting it back to where it was might be a challenge for the next few years, but not too far off. I'm hoping we can discuss these things in the next few senate meetings.

Help me OFCC, you're my only hope! 🤓

Not sure whether I was around or if this happened - but I have been keeping my gaslands case in my car - I tend to attend the clubhouse on Tuesday game nights, and would definitely be down for a quick refresher game sometime.  I will have to work around my dungeonbowl league schedule, but that should be fairly easy.

I'd love to play, just been slammed between work and responsibility lately. Someday carnage will happen again!

I’m not a Member (yet) but I’d like to do this at the Clubhouse, and take advantage of the terrain stock. Are there any frequent attendees who can suggest a date & time for a drop-in Gaslands game?

Tuesdays and Thursdays lately have been game nights during the week. Also Sundays were regular, but some Saturdays have been played too. Your best bet is to arrange an opponent on the game night thread for the day you seek (this helps make sure the club is open, and you have an opponent). You can arrange in this thread too, but just worth a game night post.

I live on the near side of Happy Valley, so downtown and the east side are pretty convenient. I haven’t had the pleasure of playing Gaslands with a live opponent yet, so I’d be keen on giving it a shot.

I haven't played in a long time (since @Ish) ran a league for us.

However, I agree would love to get a game in again. We played a 4 player gate race that ended in some awesome carnage (although slower to play), but still an awesome experience. a 1:1 two car race seems like a good first time player starting point. However a 3 car (I think it was like 45 points or something was also good to start with. I don't remember our exact starting points for intro games though). Heck, i don't recall enough of the rules to play a game yet...would definitely need to re-read...lol.

Totally agree about Egwene, I feel like they're kinda lost with her character and how to progress it. I Don't like how far they're going with the Egwene Rand thing, takes away from the independent badass that Egwene is.

I don't want to nitpick here. But my take on Egwene, is, it's on purpose.

    **DANGEROUS SPOILER AVOIDANCE DETECTED**

(sorry, no idea how to hide text)

Just knowing Egwene's larger purpose. Makes sense to alienate her early on, and make her less important on a TV series. This is how writers try to include shock/awe later on.

I feel like I'm not the only series fan that is totally fine with the changes made, i very much disagree that this is an in name only adaptation. Its a modernization in a different medium. Most of the changes are fairly easily explained by production limitations and cultural modernization. So much of the books would have made horrible tv, stone faced aes sedai and warders not reacting to things, endless internal monologue, 147 different character points of view (thats a true stat right there). Anyone want to talk about the actual changes and why?

Agreed. It's not bad in any way. Sure it's an adaptation. But my main feedback is there's a LOT of fat to trim. The discussion above about the constant uncomfortable bondings, and other things. It's just not worth millions of dollars to generate it. Look at Lord of the Rings, Tom Bombadil was never introduced! Yet, everyone felt it was true to the books, etc. Game of thrones, and many other successful brands have done the same.

That said, this is FAR better than Shannara. These writers are faced with thinning down the material to make money, without overspending. Until you get to Sanderson's books, it'll be required. Jordan was just long winded.

I don't disagree with what you're saying here.  I'm asking where in that calculus is there any benefit to Amazon?  Why would Amazon license the WoT name if they a) aren't interested in the existing fanbase, b) won't see addition profit from someone watching the show and then buying the books because they liked it.  At that point why pay licensing instead of naming the main character Joe and writing the same show?  I mean, what I am hearing is that without the names you would not really recognize it since they changed the ages, changed the path, changed the main points of contention, etc.  At that point all you are paying for is the names and what do you gain from that aside from pissing of people like BroG and me?

It's streamlined. Honestly, as Robyn said, it's a flavor. Sure, you're not getting 100% of it, but 14,000 pages later there was a LOT of fat Jordan should have cut. Also his own publisher didn't want to give him approval for more than 3 of the original starting books. They knew how long winded he was as a writer.

That said, Amazon also can't afford 14 seasons, and a lot of the 'lesser' content. Game of thrones even cut short on S8 for cost reasons. It's holding up well, it's not perfect to the book, but it's enough for people who haven't read it to follow along enough and not give away future details.
