I'd say it depends on how over powered they make NEW models that never existed. There always seems to be MUST buys that come with new codexes. As for rules, a little of everything never hurt, but I'd say 3-4k puts you safely in that mode. As long as most of it isn't spamming the same unit and then finding yourself nerfed as a whole.

I'm not saying it's a weak formation. I'm just saying unless the Spyder is obscured, there's plenty of S6+ weaponry that will kill a spyder quickly. I'm still going to try it, my thought is if I put enough other threats on the table they may ignore it....maybe. I would say only the unknowing opponent will fall for it though. Although ONE Spyder would be a target for me, purely for First Blood... Maybe this becomes the new unit to hide behind a Monolith (or Obelisk)...

You misunderstand, king's law has no bearing in the US. Meaning if it truly is a United States Sweepstakes, then it is illegal and the US portion of GW can be sued (or forced to give every entrant a prize). Just saying, I did promos for a living for 5 years...I don't mind if they're ignoring it, just a heads up is all.

Since this is a sweepstakes, where is the no purchase necessary option? Having done promos, and knowing legal needs for the United States. This is not a competition, but a sweepstakes. And in the US there is a no purchase necessary requirement...I'm guessing it's hidden somewhere, or they're in void of legal requirements. Not sure where this promoters site is either... This is exactly why we never ran international promos. Too many countries have different rules.

So what are people's opinions on MUST haves? Like for me my Wraiths have always been a must have, the +3 initiative seems like a no brainer now. What other things, maybe separate it out by must have wargear, must have units, etc. Just looking for the favorites so far. In fact a list of. As stated, proxy is very common. Especially in the escalation league where the goal is to flush out a new force, rules, etc. Also as stated, our club is pretty casual. Most of our tournaments (with exceptions to larger formal events) are very casual and friendly gamer focused. It's about having fun and not stomping your buddy into the ground

Yeah, we found the game more streamlined after the first few turns. As usual it does have a learning curve like Race does....but I liked it better. Might be because it was NEW, but time will tell.
