  1. Thanks for the compliment, and BroG part of it is also getting into a game that people have played for years too. This means they've got maxed crews, lots of credits to spend on equipment, etc. It doesn't break he game, but it definitely provides an advantage. Until you get some of the beat stick tanks you do end up getting punched a bunch (I remember the B1 and the M3 Lee....oh dear god no, the horrors!!!)
  2. Some TD's have very HIGH camo naturally. Add a crew with camo, netting, etc and you can almost be no top of some TD's...even Lights (who can move and maintain 100% camo). This is where extending your view range with binocs, crew skills, etc help combat that. Also, just because you can see a hill doesn't mean you're able to see what's there, even if spotted if it's outside actual view range. Just takes understanding of the spotting mechanic....but yes, not all tanks are created equal and some are frustratingly stronger than others!
  3. Wait what? When is the release date?
  4. Burk, WOT has a learning curve. BroG you're learning about the spotting mechanic. If a tank on your team 'detects' another tank, their radio range has to be within your range to suddenly see it. Also camouflage plays a factor making it harder to detect some tanks that are behind bushes, using camo nets, and so on. Basically detecting is a comparison of your detect range and their camo rating. The spotting mechanic is how visibility works in this game. As I said, it's not call of duty where they're always there. Typically it's not that bad, but when you go around a corner don't be surprised when they suddenly get detected. Use buildings and such to pop out. A good example would be say I'm 190 yards from you, and your detect range is 200. You should see me...however if I have camo on which improves my 'hiding', against me only I've reduced your detect range for me personally to around 175 or so. This means you can't see me unless you got closer. Not many tanks go for heavy camo. TD's and Lights are usually the ones that go that route. Although end game, TD's are where I hear a lot of the meta has gone. Also, to earn tanks you get Experience. There's 2 types of experience. TANK experience where you complete a match and get XX points to spend on that tank ONLY. And Free experience which is usually under 10% of the previous TANK experience. Free experience is nice as you can use it on other tanks. I tend to let it accumulate and try to use tank experience as much as possible except maybe to unlock a needed gun or something. That said, credits are needed too. The last part is, you can't unlock the next tank until you've unlocked the portion of the tank tree required to move forward. For example the M4 has a DERP gun in the tree, you don't have to learn it to move on, but the other paths you do. Those unlocks take experience. Esperatus, On my KV line I went Derp all the way, KV-1 and KV-2 Derps are just fun (especially with a shell rammer). KV-1S I went with that silly over powered penetration gun. Russian gun accuracy is horrid so I don't try to snipe with them much, but brawling can be dangerous (like the KV-1S's armor is paper thin). My favorite tanks are as follows (I like heavies and like turrets): T5: KV-1 and PZ-IV (both with derps) T6: KV-1S and Hummel arty T7: T29 and GWPanther arty T8: IS-3 and Tiger II T9: E75 T10: Haven't decided yet, working towards T57 Heavy, but maybe the T110E5.
  5. I don't know if I can make it. Have an interview...
  6. I really enjoy my Hummel and GWPanther, very accurate and great traverse ranges. But yes, most ones can be brutal. Still fun to have one on the side when you're bored or want to try something different.
  7. I posted on game night thread, hoping to be there too.
  8. I'm hoping to be there, I'll bring my 40k...thanks for the league heads up.
  9. I agree, it doesn't matter to me. It's displayed and presented, they paid to get in just like everyone else. AS Brother G stated, it's an army like any other. Whether the actual person painted it or not is irrelevant.
  10. Bro G, have a mic on xbox? We can platoon up sometime and I'll walk you through it. Picking tanks is only part of it, but playstyle, tank lines, angling, camo, etc. There's some good youtube videos for starters on WoT too. As for my style: I love heavy tanks. The autoloaders have changed the meta some, but still like my heavies. These are the ones I keep in my garage as must keeps in my opinion. US: T29 German: Tiger II and E75 Russian: KV-1, KV-1S, IS-3 I own others, but these suckers are very solid tanks for their tier. I am currently working towards the T110E5 T10 US Heavy myself. You have to analyze your style (Glass cannon/autoloaders, Heavy brawler, Tank destroyer/sniper, artillery, scout, etc). I do own some artillery too, but it's just for fun in the off occasions.
  11. No decent game stores with a league or anything? I could see that being a big bummer. Prior to Ordo I had no way to get my geek on very often either...
  12. Hah, you'd think people in higher tier matches would be smarter, but there's still plenty of people who just don't care (even T10's). Just send me a message if you see me online, I've got T5-9 all pimped out (various tanks too). Love my IS-3, told the IS-8's a bit of a let down. That's why I keep my E-75 for T9.
  13. Petre's right, Castrol super clean is better than brake fluid. Still slightly caustic, but much less so.
  14. Mornings (looking for work), or evenings (that will change soon). I've got 3 guys to run nightfalls and weekly strikes, so if I'm on and gaming hit me up. If I don't respond it's because watching Netflix with the Wife, or my son is playing on my profile...not because I'm a douche
  15. Castrol Super Clean is what Bryan used (less caustic). But, much like Brake fluid you should always wear heavy duty gloves with either and don't let it contact your skin or inhale the fumes. Cancerous stuff...
  16. I should have posted this, but you guys know about www.destinylfg.com right? It's great to get those pesky weekly strikes and nightfalls out of the way! Just search or post yourself and you'll have a group in minutes!
  17. If you guys ever need some help with a run through, or a HIGHER level run through (strange coins, weekly, etc)...I'd be happy to help. For example, I've run some 25's through the 28 weekly so they could get their strange coins for the week, etc. I just hit 31 Also, if you're ever looking to do weekly strikes or nightfalls and find people are not on. Make sure you visit www.destinylfg.com. It's GREAT for getting some pickup players or posting yourself out there for an invite. Haven't used it for raiding yet, but told the same thing!
  18. Sure am, and way too often. 'Dark Tra1ner' is my user name. I have 3 level 30's, and farm my weekly's often If you're interested in a run, or need some help always happy to assist.
  19. I needed to add Alien Frontiers is a blast, and easy enough to pick up. Raze calls it Space Yahtzee
  20. Blu, I'm down for board games. I'll bring one just in case...but open to any!
  21. Is there a game night on par for tomorrow? I'm planning to drop by, haven't decided what system I want to bring yet...
  22. You can also usually get Orks, or Humans in plastic as they came with the original box set. Also, I learned gameplay best by playing the PC version of the game...helped me learn to maximize blocks and such, as I could play 4 games in the time it took to play a real one
  23. You can look me up on Xbox sometime "Dark Tra1ner". If i'm on, it's usually Destiny, WoT, or Netflix...
