  1. Sparrow and I will be picking up Westy off the boat. My 40K stuff is all at Fluger's already. Spaghetti sounds hecka good!
  2. Just got out to Card Kingdom today and picked up the book. (painting/modeling related) Initial impressions: Pleasantly surprised to find out that Squadrons of attack bikes are back in the dex, but that just makes modeling the other 9 I have a priority, and a huge PITA as they are HEAVily converted, and quite fiddly. Glad to see that my heavily converted command squad and company veterans squads are back to being interchangeable. Under the old dex I had to lump two of my favorite minis into the command squad, as they were the only power armored marines that could take TH/SS. (I know this pleases Fluger, as it means I have 2 squads I can play Shaft in) My wallet is going to hurt when I end up buying multiple devastator squads for the Grav weapons for my Devastators. I wish they'd bring back giving every servitor a plasma cannon, my matchstick men are bummed they have to fight in 2 groups. I also have to paint another techmarine, and more servo arm servitors. I have a LOT of Deathwing to paint. something like 11 knights, 15 terminators, 6 dreadnoughts, and at least 1 Landraider. Likewise for the Ravenwing. Luckily, if I minmax my marine squads, I can run a battle company and get free transports. But again, my wallet will hurt picking up the extra drop pods and a few rhinos. Everytime they give me a new awesome book, my goal of painting the collection gets further away. These recent moves don't make it any easier, either. All in all, though, I'm excited to get back to the work of painting, and the fun of pulling my dead guys off the table.
  3. Once again, Much thanks to Fluger for the couch & game action. It was great to play 7e by the numbers, and Fluger gave great tactical advice that allowed me to at least get a victory point or two, so it wasn't a complete shutout. I'm now back in Seattle proper, and although I don't have a place as of yet, I'm working on it. Hit up Card Kingdom today and picked up my new codex.
  4. Great news from Fluger! It's handled! Thankyou, Fluger! Now to load the trailer!
  5. Ok, it's happening. I'll be in Seattle Thursday, 7/9. I've hit a snag, though. My friend I was originally planning on staying with (2 days, while I find a place of my own) can't do it. I'm in desperate need of a couch or some carpet to lie flat on, for this coming Thursday. If anyone knows of a spot, please, let me know, I will be much in your debt.
  6. Thanks, Guys. I will look into those neighborhoods. If anyone knows of a good place for rent, please don't hesitate to PM me or post it here. I'm open to options.
  7. I phone interviewed with the President of the company, and got the job. I'm waiting for the official offer, but I WILL be relocating to Seattle within the next 2 weeks. Looking for places in the Renton, White Center, West Seattle, type areas. I'm Super Excited to be returning to the area, and have never been so stoked about a job, EVER. I'm looking forward to getting many good games in, in the Very Near future.
  8. SO, I have a job lead. SODO area of Seattle. It will require relocation from Las Vegas. Looking for recommendations on areas to move to. Rent budget will be about 1K a month. Looking for a 1 Bedroom, for a period of 6 months to 1 year, as my family (Sister, Brother-in-Law, Nephew and eventually my Mom) will be relocating back to Seattle soon-ish. Also need the heads-up on where I can play 40K, and of course, pick up the vital necessities of codexs and such in the Seattle area. Thanks in advance!
  9. I noticed that too! Now all those metal 2e marines I traded you for will have to get painted...
  10. I convert, paint, and compose army lists based on the WLK (What Looks Kewl) principle. Two of my Ravenwing bikers are modeled with a Crowbar or Tire Iron, with more "Improvised" power weapons WIP. That said, I when I build army lists I try to at least take units that can take the appropriate modeled wargear (like putting the two custom TH/SS power armored marines in the command squad.) In friendly games I've found every single one of my opponents has been ok with my "couts as" playtesting of a unit. I make a serious effort when OFCCs roll around to be excessively accurate about what's on a miniature, though. But personally, with the cost of codex books being what they are I can't afford to buy the book just to know what my opponent's weapons look like. As long as you're consistent throughout the game about what's on it, it's cool with me.
  11. Ok. I'll just leave the bolt pistol on, then. Thanks for the replies. It was bugging me, and the squad is on the paint desk.
  12. Mods: I'm posting this here, as it's both a modeling and a rules question. If it's in the wrong forum, please accept my apologies, and feel free to move it to Artificier's Forge. A long time ago, I modeled this arm for my custom converted Apothecary. Originally, his left arm was designed with a bolt pistol, but the codex states that the Narthecium replaces the bolt pistol. Since it was a major PITA to convert, I don't want to swap out the right arm. Do any of you rules savvy Ordos have a suggestion for the left arm? I don't really want to try and keep track of the one guy in the unit who isn't WYSIWYG, as I know I'll end up remembering halfway through the game that he doesn't have it. I'm open to suggestions, but prefer them to be rules-legal. Thanks!
  13. Well, there goes more of my money.
