  1. So sad news. My car broke down and wont be fixed till next week at the earliest. So I am out for the tournament.
  2. Unlikely I was thinking aboutbit but couldnt get a list together with the old book. Either dragging out the Dread Elves again or maybe pulling some stuff from the back and running the army as sylvan elves...just for something different.
  3. So my plans for a place to crash fell through. Anybody have a floor I can sleep on...or want to split a hotel room?
  4. No huge rush, next few months. The general consensus (and intention I think) is that the army is a little underpowered. It has a few fairly potent units (the jotuun is pretty sweet) but overall probably compares poorly to a well made WDG list. Strengths of the army are similar to Beastmen. Solid core combat units. Stronger then average monsters. Decent access to Ambush. Weaknesses are low toughness, low peak damage output (though solid consistent output), low armor. The army also has a severe issue with mitigating chaff. Minimal range weapons and only access to chariots is characters.
  5. How about OFCC? This is just a list I want to do...I'll bring a slightly less enjoyable version out of the WDG book for March if I can get the models together
  6. So...how do we feel about the Auxilliary armies in tournament play. Seriously considering doing a Greek themed Asklander army but dont want to invest if it is illegal at most of the events I go to.
  7. I am a little north of Seattle. From my experience the best stores would be Games and Gizmos in Kirkland or if a little more north is ok Mugu Games in Everett. I've heard good things about Heroic Knight games in Issaquah but havent been there myself. Most of the stores in Seattle proper are either too small or cater heavily towards MTG.
  8. KoW seems to have won out here in Seattle my efforts to string together some kind of community have all met with failure. I would be glad to get some kind of event together I just need to find a store to host it lol
  9. Mathed out the only units core orcs beat, point for point, are undead and dread elf spears. That actually gets worse when using sword and board...then you only beat the undead. It also takes 9 rounds of combat to do so on average...
  10. Yeah ORCS are already way below the curve on damage output. Go for spears or paired weapons. Shields are for goblins...they get maximum use out of it with their poor output and terrible ws
  11. Congrats to everyone! Don't worry Kacy I will take home that bottle opener next year! Great games everyone! PS: I am sorry I stole your goblin wolf Sherbert
  12. I play 9th. I live in Mountlake Terrace.
  13. Oh....ok...I had no clue about that...I just noticed it getting asked every week on the forum and nobosy answering. 14. Hey guys! My lodging plans for OFCC have fallen through due to My friends deciding not to attend. Anybody got some spare space on their hotel room floor or home couch for me to crash on?
  15. Would meeting at Games and Gizmos instead of Mox work for you, its a little easier for me to get too from where I am at.
  16. Indeed you no longer need standards to be scoring...just the scoring rule.
  17. The advantage of bound spells is that you can take a lot of them and their cast values are low enough to be safely 2 diced. Also you can take the same spell more then once. As the casting player you always have the advantage in terms of number of dice and you set the pace for the phase. This is far more noticeable in a bound spell based phase where you may be throwing 4 or more spells. Your opponent cant risk failing even one dispel so their unlikely to throw less dice then you even with their dispel bonuses. A bound spell magic phase can simply overpower your opponent in spells and dwarves are already an upper tier combat army so even one bound spell can tip fights in their favor.
  18. I agree on Organ guns. Cannons do one thing and do it really well. They kill monsters. Dwarves actually kinda struggle against the stompy bastards if their artillery doesn't do the job.
  19. Of drop the champs and standards from the marksmen units...they don't do anything for you really. Use the points from that and dropping the flame cannon to kit put your characters
  20. Miners with pistols are fantastic...as are tooled out slayer characters...especially for monster hunting. Lord with shield bearers in Iron breakers is a unit that simply doesn't budge. I like organ guns for warmachines...possibly catapults or bolt throwers as well. Cannons only really pay off when facing more then 2 monsters and you have other means of dealinh with that problem.
