  1. Slightly off/ slightly on topic, but regarding allies, are you allowed to bring allies from multiple army lists, as long as you follow the rules for regiments/troops/heroes/monsters, and are under 25%? Not that I would, but can you take in a 2000 point army, say, a regiment of Wearwolves (Undead) and a regiment of Tunnelslaves (Ratkin)? Don't see anything in the rules saying that allies must be taken from a single army list, unless I am missing something.
  2. Thank you for the write up sir! Might be playing my 2nd game of KoW tomorrow, excited to see how it turns out. Do you mind giving us a rundown of your list?
  3. It wouldn't surprise me if this was the rout they choose to go; put out an affordable, plastic box set for Epic / Bloodbowl / Mordheim / etc., then release extra figures / teams / warbands in resin. Maybe not the most ideal situation, but I'm just happy to see the specialist games being supported in one form or another.
  4. Hello all! Got a big collecting of miscellaneous miniatures from a friend that I'm looking to sell. It's all stuff I'm unfamiliar with, so I'm still in the process of doing a full inventory and sorting out pricing before it ends up on eBay. Tried to price stuff at 50% retail. 5. He eBays for around $10-$20. I think I picked mine up from eBay a few years ago for around $12. Not super valuable, but definitely an awesome model!
  6. Can't wait! Oh, but I don't have a next gen console, and I would need a new graphics card. Guess I can wait...
  7. Thanks! I might look into that, definitely not afraid of a little DIY, heh. Taking a look online, I found this site that will do 20/25mm skirmish trays on a 3x1 configuration. 20 of them costs $9.23-ish after converting from Pounds to USD, although it doesn't say how much shipping is. Going to make some inquiries :) http://www.productsforwargamers.com/ EDIT: fixed link
  8. Thank you, I appreciate it! Unfortunately, they cost about the same as the plastic dice holders from Mantic for 4 of them. I'm looking to pick up at least 20 or so damage trackers, heh.
  9. So I noticed that the Kings of War deluxe edition book comes with some really nifty damage trackers. I can't say I'm a fan of the "pole and markers" style, but the little dice holders seem perfect for someone like me, since I always seem to inadvertently pick up wound dice during the course of a game, even if they are different colors. Unfortunately, it seems like they run $15+ for 4 of the plastic ones, which is more than I'm willing to spend. I had hoped that there would be come cheap MDF alternatives, but so far I'm not having any luck finding any. Anyone have any suggestions?
  10. Wish there was an Android option. My wife and I love this game, but can never find anyone in our group of friends willing to play.
  11. I'm right down the road Sam, if you need any help setting up Saturday morning, let me know and I can show up whenever.
  12. Andrew Vancouver Mythic Realm Games, Dice Age Tuesdays, possibly other days, work/life permitting Ogres
  13. Can't agree with this enough. I'm actually pretty excited to give Kings of War another shot, even after being a little underwhelmed with my first game. I think the biggest problem for me would be comparing KoW units to their WHFB "counterparts." It's so ingrained in me that "a horde of Ghouls does X and fills Y role" that I sometimes catch myself feeling disappointed when the Kings of War stuff doesn't coincide with preconceived notion about a until/model/army. I think if you can separate in your mind that Kings of War and WHFB are a different game, even if you can use the same models, you'll find it has a lot to offer you.
  14. Hey all! So I don't have a ton of 7th ed under my belt (4-5 games), but Splinx was nice enough to let me join in for the Extralife tourny and Indytims was nice enough to lend me some painted Nids, as my army is all grey plastic. Looking at what he had available, I decided to go with the theme of Close Combat Bugs! i just wanted to run it past the rest of you. Like I said, I'm not very seasoned to 7th ed, so I wanted to make sure something like this would be OK / fair for a totally casual environment. Swarmlord (HQ) 3 Tyrant Guard 30 Hormaguants (Toxin Sacs) 20 Hormaguants (Toxin Sacs) 19 Genestealers (+ Broodlord w/ Scything Talons) 20 Genestealers 20 Genestealers Carnifex w/ Bone Mace Carnifex w/ Bone Mace Nary a gun to be found! Monsters bust open armor, little bugs eat the gooey center, and I pray there are no fliers.
  15. Thank you so much! We did not get any calls for sightings yesterday, we're hopeful he'll show up today!
  16. If anyone is / has family / friends in the area, he was just spotted on 54th and St. James. If anyone sees him, please contact my wife (Dawn Marie) at 360 241-2480, she's in route now.
  17. His bed is on my in-laws porch, along with one of his blankets I believe. I will double check with them and make sure it is still out there, and if they have any toys they can leave out along with it.
  18. Thank you sir! We've called the humane societies already and are keeping an eye on CL, hopefully he turns up.
  19. Thanks for all your hard work Sam! Looking forward to having no idea what I'm doing with Nids :)
  20. Hello all, I don't normally post asking for help of this nature, but if you could spread the word to any friends and/or family on the Vancouver area, I would greatly appreciate it. My wife went to surprise me with a new member of our family today. Unfortunately, he got a little startled when my in-laws brought him home and took off. Miniature Schnauzer, 2.5 years old, about 18 pounds. Neutered male. Should be wearing his collar still. His name is Winston, although he seems reluctant to come when called by people he doesn't know. Last seen near the Ross dog park / Minnehaha Grade School. Any information, please call me at (360) 241-2481, or my wife at the number in the picture. You can also call the number on his collar, which is his previous owner (we JUST picked him up tonight). His previous owner has been notified and will pass on any information to us. It's cold out there! We just want to give him a warm, safe home and far too many treats! Thanks all!
  21. Hey all! So I'm somewhat committing to giving Kings of War some more playtime coming up, and I'm messing around with some army lists. First, HUGE props to JMGraham and Peanut for linking the Easy Army builder and the Magic Items. insanely helpful. Here's what I'm thinking about for 1,500 points: Siege Breakers (Horde) - 250 Siege Breakers (Horde) - 250 Berserker Braves (Regiment) - 150 Berserker Braves (Regiment) - 150 Berserker Braves (Regiment) - 150 Shooters (Horde, Jar of Four Winds) - 265 Red Goblins (Regiment) - 85 Army Standard - 70 Warlock (Healing Charm) 130 Siege Breakers seem REALLY good, compared to Warriors, with Shield Wall and TC1 and CS3, unless I'm totally missing something. Berserkers with Warlock support put out a lot of pain, Shooters with 48" range put out a lot of ranged support and Gobblins... take up points, but can also harass / act as speed bumps. Curious what people's opinions are. I'm pretty inexperienced, so any input would be great!
  22. I guess after they released the 10th set for LOTR, the game went downhill, which was after I stopped playing it, due to lack of interest from my friend. I couldn't tell you how it compares to Young Jedi or SW, but for what it's worth it won an Origins award for "Best TCG" when it was released. If you're out of Portland, I could probably figure out a time to run you through a game, if you are interested. I've got to familiarize myself with the rules again, maybe pick up a few new starters. I'm talking to a guy online about acquiring a collection, as well as my buddy about trying it out again on our Tuesday game days up in Vancouver.
  23. Yeah, it can be played multiplayer. The base rules are even set up to be for "2 or more players."
