  1. If the next BB league is every other week, I would definitely be on board for giving it a whirl. Have been wanting to give it a try for a while, but weekly games is tough to squeeze in with Mordheim, 2 jobs, and keeping the wife happy.
  2. Oh man, if I knew there was a possibility of an imperial stout, I would have quit the team and had you bribe me to rejoin ;)
  3. The cut off date to guarantee an approved team their spot was supposedly tomorrow, but it looks like they just switched it today to open registration, first come first served kinda thing I believe.
  4. Looking for a Valten miniature to use as a until filler for my Empire army. Either Champion of Sigmar or Exalted of Sigmar is fine. Metal / finecast, whatever, as long as he's whole. Hoping to trade, might possibly be looking to buy when I'm not poor (after April). Here's a link to my bartertown thread that has most of my trade stuff on it: http://www.bartertown.com/trading/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=254249 I've also got some various Empire stuff that I could trade (mostly older 6th ed Swordmen, but other stuff as well), as well as some bits from Ogres and a smattering of other Fantasy stuff.
  5. Hey Ostermark, what REALLY destroyed Mordheim? THE ICE AGE!!! ...but yeah, I'll give the freezer the try. Thanks all! Failing that, Simple Green solves all Warhammer woes! I tried cutting the model off at the base, with mixed results. Maybe I need to try a different technique though.
  6. So I picked up a some Empire stuff off of good ol' Craigslist last weekend: lots of State / Missile troops, some cavalry, and some warmachines. Most of the army I've had no problems with, but some of the models are already based, and they are proving exceeding difficult to "un-base." From what I can tell, it's just small / medium ballast, stuck on with an absolute TON of superglue. I've pried off 3 of the guys: one of them had their feet damaged to the point they were unusable, and the other two had their feet mangled, but was still salvageable. I was wondering if anyone had any tips? Is there anything I can do to "soften" this rock-hard cake of super glue? Most of the troops seem to have it up to their ankles Thanks!
  7. My experience is, baring the death of a hero, most players stay around the same power level as long as they are getting the same amount of games in. Winning / losing doesn't really have too much of an impact in terms of rewards; an extra pip of exp for the leader, and sometimes some ok loot. As long as you have 5 or 6 dice for the exploration phase, that's what really matters. That being said, having multiple battles where heroes are put out of action can be rough. I think allowing all living heroes to roll on the exploration table, regardless of if they went out of action or not, could help balance things out, especially for a band like Possessed that start out with a low model count.
  8. Definitely appreciate the input sir. I will probably be hitting you up for some Empire advice soon!
  9. For sure! Definitely a top priority. Picking those guys up at Saturday, then going to get them in practice game shape ASAP!
  10. Thank you for the input. Still messing around with the lore on the Wizard. I was originally going to run Metal, but Life seemed the best way to keep the Flagellants alive and kicking. I can definitely see the benefits Shadows brings to the mix though.
  11. I appreciate your feedback! I agree with you on the Spearmen, I get the feeling like they don't have "what it takes" without something like Beasts or Shadow to back them up. Longrifle on the Engineer is just for fun, although I really like the Ruby Ring idea. Handgunners were a concession to the models I'm getting (would probably go Crossbows otherwise), as are the two Mortars, although I might swap out a unit for an Archer detachment for a Wizard bunker if I can scrounge up the models. Helblaster would be my preference, but I don't have the model ATM.
  12. So I've been feeling the need to take a little break from my Ogres. I love the big guys, but I've been yearning to push around some basic infantry for a while now. Coincidentally, I'm picking up a good sized Empire lot this weekend, and have been toying around with the idea of speed painting some Empire for OFCC this year. With 9th ed supposedly around the corner, I know I'm supposed to just "sit tight" and see what direction the game goes, but I can't seem to help myself. Here is the list I've been looking at running, keeping in mind that I am somewhat limited by models. Battle Wizard Lord -Level 4 (life) -Dispel Scroll -4++ 270 Captain of the Empire -BSB -Full Plate -Enchanted Shiled -5++ 126 Captain of the Empire -Full Plate -Shield -Barded Warhorse -Sword of Might -Dawnstone 129 Warrior Priest -Heavy Armor, GW -Barded Warhorse 88 Warrior Priest -Heavy Armor, GW 72 Master Engineer -Hochland Longrifle 85 38 Spearmen -Full command -(Detachment) 10 Handgunners -(Detachment) 10 Handgunners 400 8 Inner Circle Knights -Full command 230 3 Demigryph Knights -Standard and Musician -Gleaming Pennant -Halberds 199 40 Flagellants 480 5 Pistoliers 90 Great Cannon 100 Mortar 120 Mortar 120 Clocks in at a 15.6 for Swedish. Would love feedback, as I've never played the army before. Flagellants could just as easily be Greatswords, but I already have a few Flagellants already and I love the rules / models. Would probably swap out a Mortar for a Helblaster if I had one. Core is pretty flexible. I like Spearmen in general (model wise), but I know I could just as easily go with Halberds to give them a little more punch in combat.
  13. Was going through my Mordheim bits and I came across some more shields. Found 14 more which, coincidentally enough, puts the shield count at an even 40 (gotta love those round number!)
  14. I've got 26 shields from the current Dwarf Warriors set for you sir. I'll bring them to Mordheim next week, along with the cav bases. Not looking for too much right now, bits wise, but I'm picking up a sizeable Empire lot this weekend, and may be in need of some bits after I see what all I've got
  15. I might have some shields from the current Warriors box, I'll take a look for you :)
  16. Oh man, that part of the book was awesome. Do love me some AD-B.
  17. ...so I did! Sage advice though. Just one more thing I don't miss about going to school ;)
  18. I used Zap a Gap for a long time, but I always hated it. Seemed to get everywhere and go on super messy for me. I picked up a tube of the Loctite Control Gel and have never gone back. Can't say enough good stuff about it.
  19. So we had some trouble getting Mordheim to fire off the last couple weeks, but we are planning on being there tomorrow at 5 at Mythic Realms! I will have a spare warband if someone wants to play but doesn't have models, or people are more than welcome to come and observe :)
  20. Like Mr. Bigglesworth I've been playing the video game and have been really enjoying it. I wish my work schedule was more forgiving, I would totally be down with learning more on how to play, as I've been wanting to get a team together anyways.
  21. ...hopefully I didn't describe 1/2 the sellers who are going to be there. NOBODY ELSE WEAR A STAR WARS SHIRT!
  22. Packing up to head out! Bringing some MTG cards to trade as well. If you are picking up stuff from me, I'll be the guy with the Star Wars shirt on. Round guy, shaved head, beard, bleary look in his eyes from not enough sleep.
  23. Sounds good, I'll put it aside for you. I'll be there at 10 to set up, and will be there until about 1:45 / 2. Let me know around what time you are coming by :) Will do!
