  1. Hey, Selling off some extra Dark Elf stuff. Motivated to sell so make me an offer, trying to get as close to $150 as I can. lots of good metals, I was cleaning them all up to paint and ebay, but would rather not take the time. good deal to someone here who doesnt mind finishing the project. the stripped models are stripped well and mostly picked so unless your doing a show army detail wont be an issue. everything is complete other than I cant find 10 of the executioner blades and the manticore has a cold one knight on his back instead of the beastmaster. I had the blades when I cleaned them so im still looking, but I would plan on repairs or modifications. other than that every model is complete. might be a few small repairs, but not much. have 90% of the bases and im sure I have more in another box if you need them. included is 10 - painted cold one knights with command 1 - painted cold one chariot 10- Harpies 5 - Dark riders (horses need another bath, but almost done) 21 - Metal Corsairs with command 17 - Metal Witch Elves with command 20 - Metal Executioners with command (missing some weapons, hopefully I will find them. have bits if you like) 1 - Manticore with a knight on his back (always ran the noble) 1 - Bolt thrower (missing one crew) 1 - Morathi / sorceress on foot 1 - generic off brand sorceress 1- shadowblade / assassin 2 - generic custom heroes
  2. Hey, Looking to generate some money and make some room. I have a chaos army I built a while ago that has to go. Together but mostly unprimed. Was themed after the Beastmaster movies, but no so hard its not obvious what the models are. All unprimed and I have all the extra parts as well if you wish a bunch of them to change weapon arrangements or something. very barbarian in appearance, chaos warriors and knights are built off of marauders to keep the theme going. Has marauders, warriors, light and heavy cavalry, some dogs, and some of the mutant guys (dont know in what way or if they exist in the edition you play). Good start for someone getting into chaos. Will have the last edition fantasy book. Price is negotiable, been holding on to them for a while.
  3. In the movie they strap spiked gauntlets to ppl and scramble their brains to make them raging beasts. Closest i could come to it. Should look it up, its a classic
  4. figured Id throw up a pic or 2 of my chaos stuff now that I have dug it out. I have all the rest of the bits and pieces to do the other weapons and heads. Its all marauder based just for looks, I wanted it to be barbarians and it was based on the movie the Beastmaster so the characters are Mayax and the Jun leader. theres 40 marauders, 23 chaos warriors, 10 knights, 5 fast cav, 10 warhounds, and 20 Forsaken (though they could be turned into warriors or marauders with the bits). of course the 8th edition book, though it would be a better 9th age army I think cause of the barbarian rules. also some movement trays and lots of bits and pieces. just to start out, go with $200 unpainted and as is. Going to start painting it for an ebay sale soon, but giving someone here first dibs. offers and trades welcome of course.
  5. sounds good, what were you wanting for them? The Jyhad cards particularly.
  6. Hey, Trying to solidify some of the out of print or unfocused games that I like. Mostly trying to get enough of each to run them board game style if I cant find people who have stuff. I have some money but not a lot for it, but I can trade or miss a payment for the right deal. Just checking if anyone has some dusty boxes before going to ebay. Mainly right now is the Lord of the Rings GW game. I would like to get small armies of everything but wont turn down big lots if its a good deal. I have a fellowship and just bought a two towers box to get the rulebook, but want to flesh out more. Would really like to get some moria stuff, goblins, balrog, trolls. also some older card games Hecatomb Jyhad/Vampire the Masquerade (prefer the first couple of sets) Alien Predator CCG Star Wars card game (I know theres multiples, Its the one thats mission pack based) Mage knight Rebellion (need a few figures to complete my set) might consider wood elves for WFB Dresden Files RPG I have a ton of Warhammer fantasy stuff. A whole chaos army, built around marauders with a bunch of custom warriors built by me. character models are themed from the movie The Beastmaster, but not too heavily. tons of the metal dogs, cavalry, marauders and warriors, book, dice, etc. Dark elves. too much to list, old/new, painted/unpainted. I probably have 10k points of them. Though Im keeping a bunch of it, I still have a ton to use for trade. Let me know what your looking for. I have Dicemasters, no D&D stuff. mostly uncanny xmen, some Avengers vs Xmen, and some DC. The only one of note is the Constantine Hellblazer super rare. Some board games I got in a lot, Dropzone commander (pretty cool 40kish board game with cool models), Wings of glory, first edition Runebound. old box set for battle tech, the first one. I can also trade if someone has something from my want list and just wants to trade out extras or something. Services if you need them (Im a welder with my own gear), my soul, whatever
  7. for steadfast you could just say that if you loose you get to add your total number of ranks to the roll instead of just being stubborn. if you loose by 8, but have 6 ranks, your on LD -2. would promote real ranks instead of 5 deep hordes, still let you be broken by a bad enough combat, but give a clear advantage to small cheap rank and file. no more questing for those last 2 wounds to break steadfast, just pummel face and let the dice roll. also if your ranked deep then you are tough to break no matter if the other person is ranked deeper. also a benefit to any house rules and game repairs is that it only changes 1 rule. its best to avoid changing multiple rules or it gets cluttered real fast.
  8. fixing steadfast is simple, no steadfast while disrupted. done. all of a sudden big units suck a lot worse if they cant afford units to maintain the flanks, wouldn't terribly hurt actual horde armies since they, by their nature, can afford flank protection, and gives the opponent a weakness to exploit. maybe you win maybe you lose, but as long as you have a possible chance to break them I doubt it will make the game lame.
  9. fantasy sorry, though it may be a bit late. we are going to check tomorrow before the event
  10. we can use the army that she was using, she was borrowing brets anyway. I have to double check with the owner to make sure though. Id rather not pull someone from the organizer pool, they have enough to do, but I would like whoever takes the spot to play all the games if possible. ill chime back in tomorrow and we can see what we can plan out.
  11. Hello, had a last minute player drop. really need a 4th player or if another team has spots open we need to divy up some players. you can respond here, or even better just text me at 360-334-2531. let me know if you have a player or an open spot or 3.
  12. Hello, had a last minute player drop. really need a 4th player or if another team has spots open we need to divy up some players. you can respond here, or even better just text me at 360-334-2531. let me know if you have a player or an open spot or 3. Im most concerned about getting 1 of our players a spot. if we can be a team great, the other 2 of us is good as well, but I have one player who doesnt deserve all the crap we have been through trying to make this team work.
  13. I think with the non comparative hit and wounding then theres going to be smaller gaps between chaos warriors and crap troops. Agreed that 1 for 1 us off, but i think that some 0-1 choices, maybe a unit maximum or 2 would go a long way to evening it out. Chaos warriors have always broken the game a bit in comparison to other models, even when points were the mechanic.
  14. Ive played in some events that went the opposite way sylvos, and i really liked it. For example (with completely hypothetical numbers) Fight a 100 wound battle, then heal 30 wounds for the next fight, take whats left and heal 15 wounds for the last one. If the heal wont take you above a set amount of wounds then you get to heal up to the minimum. In this example say 60 wounds. Makes that attrition count, and all of a sudden people dont want to run risky chances if they cant get there unit back to full for next game.
  15. Hey, as stated Droppin Deuces is having some schedule conflicts with our 4th member so taking apps. be prepared for very casual players, we just want to play and the OFCC is our big event for the year (only for most of us). will have all the swag and such to max points, but far from power players. team is set, just have to get paid to lock in, you will need to pay right away if you want in. same with list submissions, we want to be done early so we dont have to struggle to get things done. will have some team game days between now and then to get lists tuned up. we have a couple tables at home so it will be chill. any interest you can mail me here or at drjellum@hotmail.com. also you can text me at 360-334-2531 at any time of the day or night. feel free to call but I rarely answer since im busy. looking to get this taken care of within days preferable so jump on it if you want it.
  16. marauders are great but they aren't your killers. for what you want they are good, they can be tough as tzeench and you can maintain steadfast by having a lot of them. they also fulfill one major roll which is to add ranks. getting marauders in combat with 8 ranks deep makes your warriors and monsters much more effective for breaking steadfast. id run a unit or 2. 5 wide and as deep as you can afford, just put them in combat with some assistance somewhere.
  17. couple things to save some quick points. run a level 3 wizard. you gain 10 points for the loss of the single level and spell and with 2 wizards your not going to cast out anyway. trim models from the corsair unit. don't forget that your characters take up space so if you want the block to be 30 strong you can remove the models where characters will be standing. if you can drop to 28 models base instead of 30 you will save 3 more points. also trading away the second fast cav unit for something else would be good, your paying 8 pts for it. if it were me, id drop to 28 corsairs, switch to level 3, and drop the second dark rider unit. this saves you 21 pts and doesn't change the effectiveness of anything. thats a lot of points to spend on more infantry units, crossbowmen, monsters, warlocks, whatever.
  18. don't forget that your bsb and wizard will take up a spot in your units. in this case I'm guessing you will have 2 units of 17 warriors. dropping the points for 2 chaos warriors you can buy something nice. I cant say enough about the war shrines. I would never be without one. they are moderate in combat, very tough with the ward save (especially as tzeench) and let you do more of what the army does. nothing like trading your unit champions for demons. if I were building a power list idk if they would fit, but for fun there a shoe in. if it were me I would drop 1 chaos warrior out of a unit to make room for the bob, drop 1 chariot, and try to put your wizard onto a war shrine as his mount. keeps your wizard out of the main combat forces, the war shrine acts as the second chariot, and you get the bound spell and rerolls. don't know the actual points roll of course.
  19. sent you a pm but just in case, I'm down. Dogs if possible, Dark Elves if not
  20. I think the biggest benefit to the swedish comp change is that someone else manages it. the moment we start manipulating the math it becomes a duty that the organizers have to manage and test and deal with issues. If we can free up their time they will be able to put more of it into prizes, scenarios and other stuff. It even says in the comp rules themselves that the numbers don't work unless the points are close to 2400. I will say that looking at lists for next year its much more of a choice as to what I want to bring. I kind of like that overall, makes people have to sacrifice for their level 4s and their hordes.
  21. I personally don't want to lose the forge world and out of normal book stuff. I took on 2 chaos dwarf players who were nigh immortal to my list or any of the lists I had on my team, but they were fine games. I could have done well, and would do better now that I have played them twice, but even then I would have to bring my A-game, get some lucky rolls, and likely have them make a mistake just to have a reliable chance to upset the battle. that said they were beautiful armies and the generals were fine players, so its a win. the one problem I do have is that both times I battled them there were rules on their side that they were playing in error. we have lots of new players at ofcc and we all make mistakes almost every round where we miss interpret something, but with the non standard builds its incredibly important that the player knows his rules well. no matter what normal army is being played chances are one of the 8 players will know whats up, but with non standard stuff the player themselves may be the only source of info. I went to my book a ton this year since I was playing an army I didn't know well, but for the most part people don't. they are certain of what their stuff does so you let it ride and find out later it was mistaken. this is OFCC, its the tournament geared towards hobbyists who may build a nippon army, one where I'm suprised when I don't see dogs of war, one where custom models and alternate model lines are preferred. I want to see all the options there. I would be fine with submitting my dogs of war to a special review system or something. maybe the swedish comp will free up some time for the organizers to do some manual interpretation of some of those lists someday.
  22. I don't think people who play hard lists will mind. its going to add the dynamic that they want the most which is maximization. knowing that theres a hard cap at a level 10 they can maximize against that number and I think they will be satisfied. set the cap at 5, or 15, as long as they can math out a path to victory I think they will enjoy it much more than an arbitrary grading system where there lists get rejected. probably the best way I can think of to allow that faction to get its money's worth while protecting the rest of us who failed math and just pick by color. they also get special characters now. I don't see much of a reason to complain for those who like to bring a beating.
  23. I don't see anything in the swedish comp that will curtail the hard lists we see at OFCC. In fact I think lists will get a bit harder overall. looking at what you can do with a 10 score army, its as tough or tougher than anything that would be taken and allowed in the last couple of OFCC's. plus the addition of the special characters will really increase the difficulty of the armies. I still think its appropriate though. It comes down to being an invite tournament, a level 10 list avoids the really nasty stuff and any abusers can just not be invited back if needs be. same with the specials, I like the idea of opening up the ability to alter core choices and get different army special rules. not so much the raw power ones, but you cant have it all your way. Simplicity is worth it imo. its a non arbitrary, fairly open comp system, so hopefully it will work. I have said many times that complicated rules don't make anything better or more fair. I suspect that the powers that be on this tourney ran afoul of that complication this year. the people make the tournament not the rules. won't be able to really tell anything about the worth of it till the scoring system is decided. as long as the scoring system properly offsets the raw battle points with the comp score in some manner I think it will be a win. I do think the comp scores need to be used to offset battle points in some way though, or its all for naught. I think its also important for the players and captains for the next years go remember that this is a huge change and that its opening the door for some insane diversity in players lists, power, and theme. the themers will go even farther in that direction since they have specials they can take to augment what they are building around, and general players have much more leeway to take whatever they want. moderate it a little bit and lets see how it goes, maximize the next year.
  24. updates incoming. The Rollin Fat 1's have had some parasitic aliens abducting the slower and less inteligent members of our crew. we have gone under cover to prevent losing the best looking among us. new roster - Drop'n Deuces David Jellum - Skaven Erik LeFever - Orcs and Gobs Dave Morrel - Dark Elves Adam Duquette - Dogs of War We morn the loss of our origional players, and will take their girly screams with us to the grave.
